  1. We recently booked our first Azamara cruise, on Journey, for June of 2025, Baltic Intensive. Azamara says you can book air travel through them, which we've done through Celebrity many times, but I can't find anything in the Azamara website that has the same kind of functionality that RCCL/Celebrity has. Anyone have any insights on this? Thanks!

Long time cruiser sitting on the fence but boarding tomorrow hoping (really hoping) that previous decline was a temporary glitch. I will answer your question in a few days time

Thanks for your reply and anxious to know your thoughts . Cruise we are considering is Baltics in 2025 on Journey. Enjoy your cruise!

  3. Wife and I are considering our first Azamara cruise, primarily based on itinerary in the Baltics. In a separate thread I asked for comments on Azamara vs. Celebrity where we have cruised the most (Elite +). I'm concerned from reading reviews that since being sold by RCCL, the Azamara experience has significantly declined, so much so that longtime Azamara cruisers are saying never again.  Can anyone who has experiences on Azamara over time and recently comment? Thanks in advance!

32 sailings on Celebrity, 20 on Azamara. The experience is night and day, for us, vs Celebrity. But that depends solely on what experiences are important to you.

Sorry to have to ask, but are you saying that the Azamara experience is superior? Have you sailed Azamara recently, as I've read some reviews that indicate that the experience has declined since RCCL sold them and made Silversea their premium brand.

Also on Azamara is there a particular cabin category you've preferred?

    Thanks so much.

  5. Wife and I are long time Elite+ Celebrity cruisers. Always wanted to try Azamara when it was part of the RCCL family, but never got around to it. We're now considering 15 day Baltic cruise on Journey, but hoping to get a little input on the relative experience of Azamara vs Celebrity. On Celebrity we typically would book a Skysuite, and on Azamara Journey, thinking of the Club Continent Suite. Has the Azamara experience declined at all since being sold off from RCCL? Thanks in advance for any input!

We are thinking of booking a Seabourn cruise for the first time. Having sailed with Viking and Silversea in the past, what differences will we notice?

Wife and I are also considering our first cruise on Seabourn. Specifically an Antarctic cruise, classified as an "Expedition" cruise, vs a typical, say, Caribbean or Mediterranean cruise. A bit of a concern we have, is Seabourn' lineage, being a subsidiary of Carnival. Most of our cruising has been on Celebrity, who we like very much, typically in a Suite. Comments from Seabourn cruisers on Expedition vs typica? Or on the general experience of Seabourn? Thanks very much!

If you mean a tote bag then yes Seabourn supply a zippered tote bag on every cruise to everyone. The only times it hasn't happened on boarding is if delays in supplies to the ship which is rare. I have enough and prefer to be incognito ashore so I give mine back to the stewardess. They are good bags though.

Nothing to do with anything but I like your profile photo. Westies? we have one our selves. Best dog in the world.

We had 7 expedition days on our cruise.  A typical day was a landing in the morning and a zodiac cruise in the afternoon. There were a couple of days where we deviated from this and just did a zodiac cruise and then another activity like whale watching from the ship but most days we did both.  I felt like this was plenty and the benefit of the “larger” ship was the level of luxury and amenities we enjoyed.  If you are the super adventurous type perhaps a smaller boat would provide more activities but I felt it was a great balance on the Pursuit.  We also had several lectures every day so I felt plenty busy with things to do.

Thanks so much for your in depth report. Wife and I are currently planning an Antarctica cruise and have found your thoughts very helpful. A question though, and forgive me if I missed something. Are all excursions, Zodiac, Hike, Kayak included in the cruis price with the submarine being extra? Was the submarine added cost reasonable in your opinion? Thanks!

  9. Never done this before, but thinking of a B2B (and possibly a B2B2B) for 2023. But just wondering, generally, are you able to stay on the ship when others are disembarking? I know it probably depends on availability when booking, but are you able to keep the same room and NOT have to pack and sheep all your stuff during the turnover day? Any other advice anyone can offer? Thanks!

  10. By chance, does anyone have her email address? The wife and I are Elite CC members, fans of Celebrity, but are STILL waiting on over $4K airfare refund on a cancelled March cruise. I’ve tried to be patient, but repeatedly hearing “it’s in process, but will take 30 more days”. Delta airlines refunded the fares back to Celebrity within 7 days. WHY is it taking so long?

  11. Are you trying to call Celebrity Air? Or Celebrity themselves? I’ve talked to the Air people and say its out of their hands that I have to talk to Celebrity themselves, and when I call Celebrity, like I did today, I was on hold for 90 minutes before I had to hang up due to another commitment. Frustrating. I haven’t even gotten the FCC yet.

  12. Our Australia cruise was cancelled on March 9, including air arrangements by Celebrity with a cost over $4k. I have talked to Delta Airlines, and they assured me that they refunded the fares to Celebrity within a week of cancellations. All I’ve been able to get from Celebrity Air is that the refunds to me are “In Process”. Going on 3 months now! Anybody else having these kind of delays on air refunds?

  13. This may be a silly question , but..... I know Silversea is at least partially owned by RCCL. Is there any interchangeability of any Loyalty programs with the other RCCL brands, RCCL, Celebrity, Azamara? Thanks in advance.

Have just received an email from Celebrity saying our cruise on the Solstice out of Sydney next Friday has been cancelled.

"Due to continued port closures and global travel restrictions, as well as to help ensure the continued safety of our guests and crew, we are temporarily suspending all cruising operations globally beginning tomorrow, March 15th, and will resume sailing again on Saturday, April 11th.  This includes the voyage you are currently scheduled to sail.  Sailings that are already underway will continue as scheduled, until further notice."

"In order to compensate you for this cancellation, all booked guests will automatically receive a 125% Future Cruise Credit (FCC) valid until December 31st, 2021.  Should you prefer a 100% refund to your original method of payment you may contact us anytime up until the expiration date of your FCC.  To avoid waiting on the phone to cancel, please click here and we will get the process started for you."

I’m curious. We cancelled our cruise, the same as the one mentioned here, a few days ago for the same reason, the virus. We were told we’d receive a 100% future credit. Since they are now giving 125%, will we get that?
