I have to agree with part of what the OP stated, the first come first served system is broken.

By NCL allowing guests with canes (and other special needs) on board the ship before those who arrived first is unfair. People are being taught to lie and show up with a cane when non is needed. Witnessed this once: saw a man walk on the ship first with a cane, and never saw him in the Vibe with the cane the rest of the cruise. When it was brought up in jest, he fully admitted it. Something he had learned from another guest. The system is broken.

It is an easy fix: Since NCL allows for room upgrades by bidding, I would think it would be easy to build a bidding system for Vibe. Care to get in Vibe for a day or a week, place a bid, and shall the odds forever be in your favor.

    Just my $0.02

LOL.  It is not as unfair as it is that I cannot walk without my walker as a result of having four laminectomies, triple spinal fusions, failed bilateral knee replacements, being legally blind in one eye as a result of severe eye injuries, and having limited use of my dominant arm as a result of a rather nasty automobile accident.  If you would like to trade me all of that for the chance that I might choose to attempt to buy a vibe pass on a  cruise just let me know!  Otherwise please stop whining over silly things.

But, honestly, it was an accident but caused by the Vibe process as you state that can be 'mob.

No it was caused by the person who ran into you not paying attention to what he was doing or either not caring at all.

Need Advice- We are on the May 11th Cruise. I booked a Balcony BF- GTY, they “upgraded” us to a MidShip Balcony’s “Family”  (BA) which they say is larger then the BF. I noticed a price drop by a few hundred dollars for my booking for a BF- GTY. What kind of recourse do i have? I already paid for the entire cruise. Do I just be thankful for my “upgrade” or can I ask for onboard credit? Who should I talk to?

Thank you for those who have prior experience!

    None.

I’m a platinum Latitudes member who recently traveled on the Bliss.  I arrived at port at 8 am and went to the preferred boarding area in order to be first on the ship to buy a Vibe pass. It appeared disabled cruisers and their large families boarded beforehand, and then I boarded and headed right to the area to buy a Vibe pass.  Unfortunately, the passes were sold out.

I wrote and complained and received a curt reply stating passes were first come, first serve.

Last week, I spoke to a Bliss passenger I had met years ago.  He was “comped “ the cruise for two (he gambles) and he told NCL he would only go on the free cruise if they held two Vibe passes for him in Guest Relations.  NCL complied.

Ive cruised NCL over ten times, typically as a solo paying 150%, and paid for all my cruises, followed all the correct procedures that should have insured I was able to buy a Vibe pass, but NCL fraudulently holds passes for preferred guests, so I’m done with NCL .

Actually you did everything to ensure you had the best chance to get a vibe pass.  There is no way to ensure you will get one and I have no idea why one would insure a vibe pass.  Anyway, there is nothing even slightly fraudulent about what you describe.  Sounds more like sour grapes over not getting a pass.  So now you are "done with NCL" because you did not get to pay $200 for a Vibe pass.  LOL :O

  5. Yeah I agree.  Cirque is no longer on the Breakaway.  Now Velvet, some kind of 80s or disco thing.  I called NCL and waited a bit.  they have no details yet ion it though.  I guess it is up to the wife and kids what we book.  Almost have all the info we need to make a choice now.  Thanks everyone.  Appreciate it.

  6. Yeah we are cool with the upcharge just was looking particularly to see if that Cirque show was on both away ships over the next few months.  Any word on if it is also on the breakaway anyone?  Still trying to decide if we want to do a summer cruise and would like to know all factors.

    really?

Yes really.  We have narrowed it down to three cruises and have several factors to base our decision on.  We have been able to find out the answers to all of our questions on our own except for this one.  Something being a small part of the decision process does not equate to it being the deciding factor.  Even so, if all else is equal what difference does it make to you what our final deciding factor is?

  8. OK so what do I do if there is not one of those roll call discussion already in progress for the cruise I am thinking about?  Do I have to send someone a request to get it started or do I just start it just like this discussion?

  9. Thanks.  I may just go ahead and book on that NCL: Joy.  The Thai thing was one "tie" breaker things between many ships and cruise lines.  Now I just need to figure out how to use the roll calls on this place.

  10. Thank you both.  One of the ships on our short list was that Joy.  Maybe we will go ahead and book that.  Now fingers crossed we can find an acceptable rate.  We want to sail in late November or early December which is when our vacation time at work is!
