I have sailed Aqua and also a Sunset Veranda on Edge class.

The Sunset veranda cabin was a little larger, length mainly...the balcony was HOT...very sunny...maybe the weather was especially hot...it is also a LONG walk to the cabins, and I like to walk.

BLU is a nice change when in Aqua...I'm not a MDR guy, my Wife and I did a combo of BLU and Specialties on a 7 day.  The Spa is nice too for a change.  I'm fairly neutral on the infinite veranda..I don't dislike it enough not to book, nor like it enough to make me "have to have it".

Hard to go wrong either way.

I have to agree.  I know its not a popular sentiment, but I am not a fan of sunset veranda.  There was never any shade and it was awfully hot.  Personally, I do not mind the IV.

It isn’t worth it . Is the media aware of the conditions positive people are being put under? If we didn’t have such a huge cruise credit, I would say my cruising days are over as no one deserves to be treated like that.

Sorry, not sure I understand what you're upset with?  What conditions are people being put under?

You are correct -- Never going to happen--- Too intimidating for Staff, and,  Officers could " care less "as they strut around ( always with their phone to their ear-- so, nobody bothers them to get involved )----

I don't believe for one minute that anyone takes a suite ,or just stays on their balcony because of this " problem ".

We've been on xxx cruises, did see lots of chair hogs, but always were able to find a place to sit.

In fact, on occasion while looking for a seat , we were offered seats when folks were ready to leave.

I don't spend alot of time actually in a pool (germ soup), but I do notice that people are always angling for the chairs around the pool or a row back.  There are plenty of other seats available,  but not always right near the pool.

Why did people start showing up at 10?  It was my understanding that everyone had a assigned check-in time, and I thought the earliest was 11:30  or 12.
I never figured out the rush to be on the ship first and willing to stand in lines to do so.

I agree, can' t understand waiting in a long line to get on the ship and hour or so earlier.  FOMO I guess.

I truly believe people continue to preach about tuxes being required because they believe if they say it enough people will believe it.  I have enough self confidence in my selection that I fail to care what other people may or may not think.

Advice I once received when I started working, It is extremely difficult to be over dressed for an event, and be remembered; however, it is exceptionally easy to be under dressed and remembered.

    Couldn't agree more.

  6. First let me say I am not looking for a debate....but can anyone tell me why those that like to wear tuxes or gowns seem to be hellbent on trying to convince others that it is the norm?  It definitely is not.  I see so many posts on Facebook regarding this and just can't image why what someone else wears matter to anyone.  Dress up or don't, as long as you're within the dress code who cares.  Personally, I like to wear dresses (not gowns) but if someone else is wearing jeans I couldn't care less.  I actually posted this on FB and someone had the nerve to reply that they care "because I have to look at you".  Wow....on my vacations I just want to have fun and don't worry about what someone else does.

What I can’t understand is that the Edge itineraries have been cancelled and all Edge cruises will now be 7 days ( in the hope that passengers don’t develop COVID-19 while on the cruise). But, they then offer passengers replacement cruises on Silhouette which are either 10/11 day Caribbean cruises.
    Really?

Both are cruises sailing out of US waters under the CDC rules.

Why is it ok then for Silhouette to do 10/11 day sailings, but not Edge?

I asked the same thing.  I was told they were cancelling the Edge cruise I had booked in 2022 and replacing it with a Silhouette cruise.  I asked why and the rep actually said because we care about our staff and customers.  When I asked why they didn't care about the staff or customers on the other ship of course she couldn't answer.  I said I was fine with transferring to the Silhouette, was assured same length and itinerary.  They would send an invoice in 48 hours.  I waited a week, called today and found out that no such replacement cruise existed.  They said they would call me back tomorrow with an alternative but the cost would be at the prevailing rate.  They have lost my husband and I, if I have to pay this much for a cruise I would prefer a premium line.

If you want to take the risk, fine, but by not wearing a mask is potentially risking the lives of others.  Something I'll never do.  I'll wear a mask to not only protect me but others as well.  That's the responsible thing to do.  Just like getting vaccinated for childhood diseases, or wearing a seatbelt, or attending a muster drill, or even wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle.

Exactly, by not wearing a mask you put others at risk.  I really don't understand why anyone wouldn't wear one.

  9. Personally, I have no intention of sailing in any kind of cabin until there is a proven vaccine, don't really understand how others are ok with the risk.  In answer to the original question though, I have stayed in all manner of cabins on different lines, for me, balcony offers the best of both worlds.  We mostly eat in specialty restaurants, so for us an Aqua or Concierge are both wastes of money.

I know this has nothing to do with the buffet, but what about the pool area and the loungers?  Are they going to remove some to allow for the following of social distancing guidelines.  One of my pet peeves is that they are always right on top of one another so that getting or out without sliding on the chair is impossible.  This is also a means of transmission.  Or the theater, how will that work?  I for one won't be on a cruise before a proven vaccine is found.

Hi all, what is this "lift and shift" you are talking about? We have a cruise booked departing late September but we have decided that even if cruising resumes we would not feel safe sailing. Thank you

I agree.  I won't feel safe until there is a vaccine, or better yet a cure.  I would also like to wait and see what safety precautions are put in place on ships.

Unfortunately I agree with you... We probably will not cruise again until there is a vaccination.

I agree, I can't myself getting on a cruise again without some sort of vaccination.  I love cruises, but to be honest, I have ether gotten sick on or shortly after a trip.  I think It will take a long time before I feel comfortable on one again, but definitely not before a vaccine is available.

This is very selfish....he knew he was sick, didn't report, flew home and THEN went to hospital much later.  No excuse for it.  Obviously he didn't want to self isolate on the ship and wanted to get home before anyone knew about it.  This affects more cases in his home area AND all the people on the plane, airport, cab, etc.  One other person did this reportedly, and was criminally charged....not sure where this happened.

How could he have possibly known what is was?  Doctors can't tell for sure without the test? Was the ship equipped to test for that virus? At this time of the year, many are sick with flu, colds, etc., and many of the symptoms of those are the same.

I said above, a week, a month? ago, that there must be something wrong with Luminae if suite people in Blu are the source of overcrowding.  I'm on Edge now and there are problems with Luminae, from waits to be seated as the hostess repeatedly leaves her station to seat guests and chat with them, to hour long waits for food, to improperly cooked meals. I'm a Luminae and Edge veteran (ok to use that word?) and the problems are clear. I've raised the issue to the Food and Beverage manager. We wont eat in Blu, but last night the dining room was half empty at peak time on 'chic' night - and the problems persisted.   We are ordering off the menu, nothing very special (hold the sauce type of requests).

Yet some claim the service is stellar.  Apparently you are not the only one to see this.

Back-to-back cruisers on their second (or subsequent) cruises are invited to the embarkation day lunch in the MDR, regardless of what kind of room they are in (although they have a choice of either the MDR or Luminae if they are in a suite).  I think B2B cruisers were invited to lunch there even before CC cruisers were.

    And they should be!

fun story about entitlement...if you have been in haven on the bigger NCL ships you know when you enter haven there is a long narrow hall that opens up to the concierge desk then lounge. this is usually where you meet for when the concierge takes you to shows and when you do priority disembark etc.  the crew door you take is right near the entrance to haven. thus. if you are in the lounge, you are farther from it than if you were waiting in the hall. but if you come late, the lounge is full and you pretty much are forced to wait in the hall. this means  you are 1st in line for priority disembark. some 'punk' was standing there in the lounge across from me and not happy that a large multigenerational family came in late and was basically gonna get in the elevator before him. he had the nerve to ***** to one of the staff. actually said these people got here after me and are going to get off before me.

yea..he was that guy...cannot imagine living like that day to day when he's waiting in line at an amusement park or for food etc. or TSA in an airport. me me me..all about him. if he was with anyone it wasnt obvious but there arent too many solos in haven usually. they probably snuck away and hid under the table.

Seen that behavior a few times myself.....how do people know someones CC status or the room they're in, because some are only too happy to tell you.  Ever notice how many posts start off with...I am Elite + and I've earned this or that....you didn't really EARN anything but instead you Bought it.

    Hi All

We are first time Celebrity cruisers setting sail on the Apex in May 2020. We received the classic beverage package as a perk when booking- I have tried to do my research but its still not clear what the cocktail selection will be like - does anyone have any example menus or can advise on what is included? I realise there is a $9 cap - just concerned the choice may be very limited! We aren't concerned with having the best spirits - just hoping there will be a reasonable selection to choose from!

    Thanks

    Louisa

Not hard to research, the list is right on celebrity's website.
