  1. I have found that the RB Sandwiches have declined in quality. They were absolutely the best tasting during the first 2 years that Oasis was put into service. Ever since then they just weren't the same. The meat is a bit tougher and the rolls are much smaller.

All in all, they still make a great lunch with a bag of chips.

  2. We just got off Anthem on the 18th and found that the shows you need to book were quite boring (Spectra's Cabaret) and corny (We Will Rock You). The other show was to running on our cruise due to technical issues. We did not go to the headliner show as we have seen them before, and when to the Juggler and one of the Comedy shows. Overall Entertainment on this ship was the biggest disappointment for us after doing Oasis Class ships. Again this is a very subjective offering and I hope you enjoy them and enjoy your cruise.

BTW, I have found that our waitstaff (Anderson and Kris) were the best we have ever had on any of our cruises.

  3. I've been getting this same message for over a month now...tried various ways to get into my reservation, but nope. I have all the docs I need for my upcoming cruise...but would like to see what I have in cruise planner…. uggggg so frustrating.

Just call RCCL and have them unlock your account. I have had to do it a few times.

  4. I had this on my last cruise. My son (18) and daughter (15) had a different station. I spoke with the staff and they said "families should stay together". They told us to go to our (my wife and I) muster station and tell the leader the situation. It was no big deal, they checked us all in. I also asked what we do in the event of a real emergency, and again, families should stay together.

    Hope that helps.

Thank you for at least understanding the concern. It is not an issue of trusting my son, it is more of a concern that my nephew is under my care and I will be taking responsibility for him. If there is any time my DW seems to suffer from Claustrophobia, it is during the Muster Drill. It just appears to be a panic point for her and if I can do anything to relieve that stress I WILL.

  5. Hello all,

I have 2 cabins side by side booked on Anthem this August and found out that they have different Muster Stations. I am mostly concerned because our 14 YO Nephew will be with my 24 YO son in one cabin and my DW and I in the next one.

Has anyone had this issue and did you find a way to fix it so we are all Mustering together?

    TIA

  6. Do you remember if lunch was available in the dining rooms on day 1 after boarding or perhaps at the Solarium?

    Thanks!

Lunch is never served in the MDR's on day one as to many people are trying to find and change their Table assignments. This is from the CC that she posted from Day 1:

    11:00 am - 2:30 pm Solarium Bistro

    11:00 am - 3:00 pm Cafe Two70

    11:00 am - 3:00 pm Windjammer

11:30 am - 1:30 pm Coastal Kitchen (GS + and Pinnacle Members)

    Noon - 1:30 pm Jamie's Italian ($)

  7. I know that a current trend in Europe and becoming more so in America is a water bath method of cooking (do not remember the name) where food is cooked in a water bath in pressure sealed bag. It supposedly gives complete control over the internal temp of food. Fish to exact degree of doneness, beef just as rare as you want it etc... leaves no guesswork. I wish I could believe this is what RCCL is doing. But that is a cooking method. Not a reheating already cooked foods. For those who say all fake news this is type of comment I have seen several of in forums. Anyone who knows more please speak up.

This method of cooking is called Sous Vide. It uses an Immersion cooker to heat and circulate water that cooks food in vacuum sealed bags. We are using this method for Steaks, Chicken and Fish. I can honestly say that it is not reheating prepared food at all. When I want a medium steak I set the temp and withing 45 minutes to an hour I have a perfect medium steak through out. Then I can either sear it on a grill or frying pan and it is perfect every time.

  8. When the daughter & I sail on the Allure in 2020 for our 2 cruises. I will be 1 point shy of the 175. To bad one of those sailings isn't 8 days.:) As of now they have accounted for all our cruises my husband & I did but were missing our 2006 Brilliance 11 Day Eastern. I wrote to ask them about it so waiting on a reply.

Calling C&A is much faster then waiting for a response to a written request.

  9. Ugh. Another hurricane. We on as well. Last year we rode out Matthew on Empress. This year we were on Enchantment for Irma, then we had B2B on Adventure cancelled for Maria, now this. I'm starting to think I'm a hurricane magnet. Can't wait for Rhapsody in Europe in 2 weeks. No hurricanes there unless when we TA to Tampa.

Seems like your on a Ship more then you are on land! At this point do the destinations even Matter?

  10. We bought lessons for our son's the 2nd time we sailed on a ship with a Flow Rider. For them it was well worth it. We also had the good fortune of having a Waterpark 10 minutes away from our house that has a Flow Rider. Now 7 years later both of my sons have competed on the US Flow Tour and my youngest ended up being the Men's National Body Board Champion in 2015! Just to think without those lessons they wouldn't know what they do now.

On the other hand don't waste your time with the Body Board lessons now as they are very strict about doing any tricks now.

  11. I have had CP Balcony's on both Allure and Oasis in multiple locations on Deck 10 and 11. All of them were great! I did find that the one we had near the aft elevator shaft was the most convenient for access to most area's on the ship!

We did a BW Balcony last year and had a cabin 3 from the end. Had a great view of the ocean from there and could see the AT but it wasn't comfortable viewing. We had to lean over the railing to see the actual Stage\Pool area, or had to watch the screens.
