I think the crossings on the Star and the Dawn were unexpected.  Both ships are still in the Med. and will be spending the winter in the Caribbean.  Which means the ships need to cross, either with or without pax.

I do think it indicates that there are having issues with crew levels or the ability to have vaccinated crew levels.

I was originally booked on the star. I fully expected it to cancel

Bringing this back to first page from page 6 😲 with the following titbits:

    • Encore is anchored off Busan South Korea, departing soon for the transpacific crossing to Seattle, ETA July 4 at 16:00.
    • Jade went from Sicily to Piraeus Greece last week and she departed there earlier today and is heading to Brindisi Italy.
    • Getaway finally left Marseilles last Friday, popped into Naples & Augusta Sicily, and is now heading to Bar Montenegro.
    • Spirit left Bar Montenegro earlier today and is heading to Civitavecchia Italy.

Feeling better about actually going to Alaska soon!!

Before panic sets in, check out this post which describes a Miami Herald story of cruise cancellations.  Cruiser GA Dave posted an article which indicates it was posted 14 hours ago.  However, bottom of page indicates copyright 2020.  The days of the week don't jive.

Gives new meaning to the term fake news.

Well it wouldn’t be fake news.  It’s just old news.    The “fake news” thing is tired.  Can you guys get a new slogan now?

  4. Depends on what you wanna do in those places.  For me, it’s Bonaire.  I enjoyed the diving more in Bonaire than in Grenada.  The shore diving was gorgeous and a boat trip just wasn’t necessary. It’s a personal choice so good luck

Just for clarification, from a great lover of cruises, NCL mostly, I need some information as far as is known.  We always cruise with a group.  Some are vaccinated, some would, some refuse as they have already had intense Covid and feel they're naturally immune!  No one mentions the anti-body tests.  For $25.00 you can get a finger ***** and a lab can tell if you have immunity.  Looks like that would be a cheaper and less invasive test and more accurate as to a say 10 day cruise or so. On another note;  Wondering what would happen now, that there are good meds to give if someone gets sick, it would be soon after they've gotten on board, couldn't the ship just quarantine them, and not the whole ship?  Food could be brought to the whole cabin and sad for them, but at least the whole ship isn't quarantined!  Would that work?  Also back to my suggestion of the anti-bodies test.  Would that work?

We have a 60th anniversary, family members have a 50th, and retirement celebrations and this is just awful.  At our age, in a year or two we may not have the good health we have now to enjoy a cruise.

BTW we ARE vaccinated and also tested before for anti-bodies, which we had even before the vaccinations.

    🤦‍♂️

Choice. It is about choice. If you want to go on a vaccinated cruise, you will be able to. If you are not vaccinated and want to cruise you will be able to. If you want to stay home you will be able to.

it is between you and the cruise lines. A govt bureaucracy should not decide who gets to cruise and who doesn’t.

That is what this has always been about.

    No

He is not pretending there is no Covid, he is just following the actual science. Florida is doing great, it is time for people to get back to living again. Great win for Florida and a great day for Cruisers!

He has been and is continuing to pretend it doesn’t exist.  FL is not doing great at all.

I wonder if this is going to affect the Alaska cruises in any way

This is what I was looking for…. People said it might before but it could just be a bunch of hot air.  It sounds like all the judge wants is more specific instruction from the cdc.

I wasn't able to verify the cell number. I tried my Norwegian cell as well as my US cell and didn't receive a text on either. The picture uploaded and the email was verified right away.

I never got the text either.  I went back and looked at my information and all the information is saved correctly. I did receive the email verification.

I think I saw somewhere that now they are requiring vaccinated passengers to take a negative antigen test before boarding...*sigh*

I also saw that they were quarantining close contact people until they could be tested ...article said one couple was quarantined in room thursday night, and got their negative results on friday (sometime???)

I mean, I get it, but that just sounds not fun being stuck inside my cabin waiting for my test results to come back for hours/day

Haven’t seen anything about requiring vaccinated people to take a test.
