  1. Get one forward of the elevator as many use it to get to the pool area and pass by all those cabins.

Not sure if there is still a smoking area up there but if there is its usually on the Port side so get a cabin on the opposite side as the smoke gets drawn in the passageway with people going in and out all the time.

Our cabin is forward, so I guess I am good. And we are not on port side.

  2. :confused:HI,

I have a question, I booked an inside room for an up coming 5 day on Ruby princess. Now the price of the balcony is only 50 dollars more, so I called princess, and they said I would have to cancel and rebook and would have to pay a cancelation fee, so I would be spending more.

Does this sound right, or should I call and talk to someone else?

    Thanks

  3. HI,

I have been on about 10 cruises and never was asked about any vaccinations. But in one of the emails I first got from Princess was about vaccinations.

So if your leaving out of Florida for a 5 day cruise, to grand cayman and then Cozumel does anyone ask for information on shots?

Thanks, any info would be great, I leave in 18 days.

  4. Well your right, but the cruise that is sailing right now, had the same as me first grand cayman and then Cozumel and they did it oppose so I don't know.

Oh well I don't have any private plans so really does not matter, but I was just wondering why it said one thing, and the ship is doing another.

  5. HI,

Just wondering, on princess it saids ship go to Grand Cayman on Monday, and Cozumel on Tuesday.

I like to go to kroooz-cam to watch the ship while it is sailing, and every time the ship does the same sailing, it seems the ship goes to Cozumel on Monday and grand cayman on Tuesday.

I was looking at it today and it was in Cozumel and tomorrow Grand Cayman, so just wondering what order is correct?

It really does not matter much, but was wondering for any one that has just sailed that same itinerary on Ruby Princess if you can tell me which port you went to first.

    Thanks,

    Helen

  6. Hi all,

OK this is my first cruise on Princess, so I need to know, if I should call them. When I paid off my cruise, I added money to pre pay my tips, and what I have learned from here it goes as OBC, now on my princess it does not show that amount on the obc, it only shows 15 obc which was something the cruise line gave with the booking. So should I call, or will that just show up when I get on the ship?

    Thanks for any info.

  7. HI,

First time on princess, I went to my princess to look at excursions, for the two ports and I reserved one for each port. But it did not require payment, so my question, can I call princess and prepay, would much rather get that paid before the cruise, I did not see an option on there website to pay for it.

    Thanks

    Helen

    Getting excited about trying princess

  8. Thanks so much for the review. This will be my first princess cruise as well. I have only sailed RC and carnival. I have to say I do love RC, but my son has sailed on princess a few times with his family and he loved it. So I am doing a 5 day to check it out.

I enjoyed the pictures, and your very fair review of the good the bad and the ugly, ha.

I am going to do anytime dining and the crown grill hope we have better luck on those two things.

    Again, Thanks

  9. HI,

Thanks for the review, I am doing the same 5 day as you did on April 12th. I have never sailed on princess, so wanted to give it a try.

We also want to do the crown grille on formal night, I guess you did not have any problem getting a table for that night?

We don't plan on anything special at the ports, this is our 25th wedding anniversary get a way, so plan on just spending a relaxed 5 days.

How was the food in the dining room, heard a lot of bad things about the food.

  10. We just tried Princess for the first time in December and loved it. You will have a great cruise. All lines have upsells for stuff so was surprised by the question. CCL and RCl both have coffee cards and drink cards and wine packages and anything else they think they can upsell you on. Princess was a lot less in your face about it. As far as the Sanctuary it is because you get chairs all to yourself - with your name on them as others have said. I can't imagine paying for them the way I cruise but others seem to love them. There is an adult only pool too just like RCL. CCL doesn't always have any adult pools so it is a bonus over them...

I was just on RC freedom of the seas in oct, No coffee card. And its been awhile for carnival but I have lots of friends that go on carnival and no coffee card there either.

  11. The Ruby short cruises are a great way to get a taste of Princess at a bargain rate. You will have 4 pool areas to enjoy with plenty of loungers around the decks. Two of them are adults only areas. No charge.

Coffee served in restaurants and the buffet is fine by me. I get the coffee card for the specialty coffee drinks. It carries over from one cruise to another as long as I haven't used up the punches.

Your negative remark "Might be my first and last princess cruise, ha." sounds like you are not prepared to enjoy yourself before you've even boarded the Ruby.

I wouldn't waste my money no matter how reasonable the fare, if I wasn't prepared to enjoy myself. :)

If you would have read my last post, you would have seen I am not going on the cruise with a bad mind set, cant anyone ever ask questions without people thinking how my mind is working.

I am just not use to spending extra money for regular coffee (which was what I was asking) and pay extra to sit some where on a ship. But trust me, I always enjoy going on cruises. Amen.

  12. First let me say, I am not going with a bad mindset, I was just asking questions based on what I see on the boards. I never paid for a coffee card, and I have been on lots of cruises, I never listed all my cruise on here.

I enjoy being on a ship, so nothing would ever get me down. But saying that, I don't buy anything I think is something I don't need.

So that's why I was asking about all these extra charges I saw or read about.

My son has sailed princess and loves it, that is why I am doing a short one to try it out. We are sailing on the Ruby, since someone asked me that question.

If the sanctuary is for the spa, then that's fine, I don't do massages anyway.

And I will drink the free coffee, etc.

I don't drink, hubby might have a few beers, but he does not drink much either. I already pre paid for our tips, since some one brought that up, I would Never not tip the crew, they work so hard for so little. And we have always given extra the last night of the cruise.

But thanks all for your answers.
