We received 2 emails today re our flights for this cruise.

    Email 1 stated:

"Further to our previous correspondence, we write further regarding your flight arrangements.

Firstly, thank you for your patience whilst we sourced an alternative airline for you. We are pleased to confirm that your new flight has now been confirmed and is available to view on your Cruise Personaliser from 11 October.

You are able to review these details, as well as print your boarding pass in readiness for your holiday with us by following the below link.

    https://cp.pocruises.com/login/

If you have pre-paid for your flight seats, any monies paid will be refunded and you will be able to rebook your flights seats through your Cruise Personaliser from Saturday 12 October.

For guests who have upgraded their flight, we can confirm that you will still be in the premium economy cabin on the aircraft on these new flights.
We look forward to welcoming you on board soon."

Slightly odd as our flight is with TUI.  Then about 2 hours later....

    2ns wmail:

"Further to the recent correspondence you have received from us today, we are writing to advise that this was sent to you in error.

We are truly sorry that this was sent to you and would like to assure you that your flight arrangements remain unchanged and you may disregard the email that you have received.

If you have pre-paid for flight seats these have not been refunded and will remain on your booking. You can check this by going onto your Cruise Personaliser.

Once again, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this has caused and assure you that your flight has not been affected.

We wish you a very pleasant holiday with us."

So hopefully the first email was only intended for those flying with Thomas Cook, and all should be revealed tomorrow.

Haven't cruised for almost 10 months now, only just over a week to go now,

At least you have had an email.

    It’s more than I’ve had.

We are on the same cruise.  Cruise Personaliser shows our flights are with TUI.  Have you checked CP?

Yes still showing as Thomas Cook

were you booked with tui when you booked

  3. As we are the first  passengers sailing across on Azura this season and our flights are to return on 2nd November I decided to ring p and o today as to what stage they are up to in regards to finding a replacement airline.

i may as well have not bothered as the woman who answered my call was completely in the dark.

i just got a pre scripted answer. We will contact you when we know.

I would not be surprised that we will be dropped of at the airport to find our own way back and have to claim on our insurance.

I don't think customer service has much to do with Carnivals share price dropping. As the largest cruise line and truly multinational they are affected by many outside influences hence the profit warning (ever there it was only a small reduction in EPS guidance for the current year). Will be interesting to see how the price goes in the months ahead - markets often overreact both on the upside and downside to company statements.

I too am a shareholder and will be keeping my shares. Also looking to book some more P&O cruises when the new brochure comes out next month.

I assume you wont be booking as the majority of your posts makes out that you think P&O and Carnival are such poorly run companies and will be looking elsewhere.

They are indeed, and it's an indication that Carnival are getting things wrong. P&O is one of the things it's getting wrong, and customer service issues (my main complaint) are one of the problem areas.

Bad publicity like this will cost P&O a lot of customers - and it's time it woke up to that.

People have short memories regarding customer services and faulty products etc.

p and o have some terrible reviews as all other big companies do.

i say every time I go on one of their cruises it will be my last but I get home and book yet again.

at least I know what to expect and with cruises getting more affordable cut backs are inevitable.

whack the prices up and keep out the riffraff lol.

  5. Lol when I saw the title I had visions of you washing your smalls in the sink.

i think it’s outrageous that people don’t wash their hands.

ive seen it so many times where people pick food up put it back don’t use tongues etc etc.

also seen plenty not wash their hands after using the bathrooms.

im paranoid about noro virus as I’ve had it after getting home from a cruise but I suspect I picked it up on the coach or at the services.

i won’t even touch a door handle or a handrail

If everybody took that laissez-faire attitude we’d all still be allowing companies to walk all over us as we used to. Things have moved on, there are such things as consumer rights and company responsibilities, and it’s a good thing too.

And nobody has mentioned compensation. Just P&O not stepping up to the mark when it should have.  It needs to learn lessons, but that attitude won’t help.

If you think you could come out on top against carnival cruises go for it.

i wouldn’t be putting any money on you though.

obviously you have a lot of free time on your hands perhaps you could wait at every port to see if you can be of any assistance to anybody.

    just in case.

  7. You would do well to find a public toilet in Monaco never mind a hotel room at short notice.

the wonderful thing about nature is it’s unpredictability ie the sea.

ive been on cruises where ports of call have been cancelled you just have to have the mindset that things happen.

to dock in Monaco is mighty expensive but p and o could do this by putting up cruise prices.

in a few weeks time most people will  look back at something to reflect on and long term will think it was quite an adventure especially the children telling all their friends about it.

its a shame that there are people out there that can’t wait to blame everyone and everything .

    probably wanting recompense.

what a wonderful society we live in.

It will depend on if they charter a new aircraft, or just consolidate on existing flights.
