  1. The cruise sounds great so far!  I do have two more questions...  How do you know when the breakfast specialties, like the blueberry pancakes are available??  Those do sound yummy!   And, can anyone tell if the new beds are getting into most of the cabins?

I did find one thing on the ICON band, not really recent.  It looks like they have more of a Motown thing going on?  I wonder if they will be on the Regal for the next few weeks/months?  Or, which band might be next.

  2. It looks like, on the Regal, the actual 'Premium' category cabins are the Aft Wake-View cabins, which do have deeper balconies.

There are some other balconies that look like they are bigger. Like the other ones mentioned.  So, then, if somebody didn't want to pay for a Premium Aft Wake-view cabin, they could possibly find one of these other cabins that have a slightly larger balcony available.   I have one of these booked for our upcoming cruise!

  3. I am so happy to hear this!  A new bed would be wonderful!  I was hoping that they would begin bringing them onboard when the Regal got bad to New York.  I am really thinking that our cabin should have a new bed by the time we sail!  It has been quite a while since we cruised.  And, I know that a new bed will be so much more comfy!

  4. I think I will be the first to mention, and very tongue-in-cheek here...

We do use our cabin for much more than sleeping!!!!!!!  :classic_tongue:

Anyone who thinks that everyone should be okay with an inside, just because are - are not going to get much respect or credibility from me.  Many people use their cabin a LOT.  Not everyone is out and about except for 8 or so hours of nightly sleep.

    I couldn't do that.

Don't try to tell me that I should.  Much Much Much too presumptuous.

  5. We have used a TA that offers the usual TA percentage discount, and sometimes some onboard credit, etc.  I have been thinking about calling, but haven't yet.  We are just thinking ahead and curious.  I wasn't planning to book another cruise like this, but just happened upon this new itinerary that I had not seen before!  I had kind of ruled this out last year, because none of the itineraries seemed great.

We looked at one HAL cruise before, and calling their cruise reps got the highest quote out there.  That is not good!!!

  6. Does Princess not always offer some kind of discounted fare, even if it is not much, to previous Princess cruisers?  Just out of the blue, I saw an itinerary and pulled it up, and the fare stays the same if I am logged in or not.  This is the current promo, with the $100.00 deposit.  I guess I had assumed that there would be some discount in the fare.

  7. Walker,  as just posted above,  you need to refer these people NOW. Once any booking has been made, (or possibly any account with Princess is set up) then these would be existing customers, and not considered a new referral.   We made that mistake once when we booked before putting in for the new referral. Too bad!  It wouldn't have been that much money in our case.  But if you have all these travelers who have never cruised with Princess before, you don't want to miss that amount of money.

  8. I have noticed this about the beds.  I wish they would have the new beds.  Maybe they have been replacing them little by little?   For those who had great mattresses, I think the Suites and maybe min-suites are all supposed to have the updated beds, on all the ships.  Maybe they will start bringing them all onboard when the ship gets back to the United States???   Wouldn't that be the way to go, other than having them in Europe?  I hope they do get the new beds in all the cabins!

  9. I am happy to hear that!    we are looking at one of the Europe itineraries that starts and ends at two different places.  So maybe that will be really helpful.   Surely it would be two hundred for each person on a cruise that is longer than a week.   We that thought about using the Air on a HAL cruise.  And, I think we could book a lower flexible fare, but then lock it in, and use miles to upgrade our seats.   I will have to make some phone calls.

  10. I also wonder what bands might be onboard later this year.

    That can always change.

I think you would have to look up some info on the Beatlmaniacs, or contact them, to know for sure.

  11. Hello everyone!   We have been to Princess Cays, a long time ago.  We just went to the main area, to the left of the dock.  I am wondering if we should check out the other, smaller and quieter side???   I think there is supposed to be some fish/snorkeling around the rock areas, but I am not sure where.  Can you find clearer water on one side over the other?

Also, you can go to either side without actually leaving the Princess area, right.   I think somebody on a video was confused, and seemed to think that walking over to the right, to the smaller area, mean going thru the gates.  But, I don't think that is right.

  12. I just checked for the cruise we are looking at, as well as for December 5th.

The Carnival website shows the Pride at Princess Cays on Dec. 4th.

Not sure I see any Carnival ship there on the 5th.

I think the Carnival Ecstasy will be at their Private Island that week.

I would be checking the Carnival schedules.

  13. I would love to have more info on the menu's too!

I am wondering if the menus, or the daily rotations, might change up a bit when the Regal gets back to the U.S. or FLL.

I am hoping that once the ship gets back to FLL, there will be a poster here nice enough to post some info, like menus, entertainers and bands onboard, or with a little luck, maybe even some Patters.

Somebody had asked about entertainment, and asked if the Beatlemaniacs might be onboard,  I did a search and did see a great youtube video of them onboard, posted a couple months ago.

  14. Wouldn't bother me as a second 'Inaugural'...  I suppose one would get some of the 'Inaugural' experience.  Are they doing the commemorative fancy plate?  We have been looking at the first Caribbean Cruise on the Regal, and this would make an almost back-to-back.  It would be tempting at the new prices to check out the new ship!!!!!   Especially since this date might not be so much of the big group partying TA cruisers.   Or, could that still be an issue...  crowds, areas/venues closed for groups, etc.

Too bad our travel budget is just maxed out.  <sigh>
