    We are on the Bliss in February and haven’t had the drinks package since the Dawn years ago. We are looking forward to having it and understand it’s $15 and under but questions remain, is it usable in each and every bar on board?
    2Drinks at a time.

    Private island usable.

    does not include bottled water?

    thanks

    Yes you can use it at every bar/lounge and restaurant. I understand it is useable at GSC but not at Harvest Cay

    Here is my understanding based on reading many reviews and our limited experience:

    • Physically challenged;
    • Haven;
    • Ambassador, Platinum Plus, Platinum;
    • Casino At Sea (CAS);
    • The newly-offered, paid Priority Access package;
    • Everyone else by group number based on when you check in.

    If this is incorrect, could one of our resident experts please correct.

    Sailing this Sunday with priority access will try to update.

    You do not need to take any offers if you do not want them but you can not make substitutions.  If you are not worried about where your room is and don’t want the offers, you can book a sail away rate and it will be cheaper.  If you want to select your room, I would suggest taking the dining package.  You will save far more than the gratuities they charge and it will give you a variety from the MDR every night.

    I agree with @Liljo22 if you do not want the offers then take the sailaway option it will save you money and you will still get a room within the cabin type you want.  If you do this you can then just purchase the soda package on its own.

    not correct....  FL charges tax so if you order something with breakfast you'll be charged full price plus 20% gratuity and also taxed (PBP does not include disembarkation day)

    I have never been charged tax when sailing out of Miami on my 3 cruises 2 with NCL and 1 with Royal.  Only in Texas has the drink package not started on embarkation day.

    1: As of July 15, 2016, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) passengers will be prohibited from bringing any beverages, including beer, liquor and non-alcoholic drinks like water, soda, juices, onboard as carry-on or checked luggage

     You can still bring wine on you just have to pay the corkage fee.  This fee is also charged if you keep the wine in your stateroom or take carry away from your dinner or bar purchase.

    My husband has done more checking and found out that the NCL Star has only two azipods and is now down to just one. Maybe they are just getting started on cancelling ports. They are not treating their passengers with any kind of respect since it is clearly risky to spend two weeks on a ship that is down to one main engine and probably has not done any better maintenance on that one.

    Your husband should due more research all NCL ships have four engines. Two for purpolison, one for power generation and one for backup.

    Ultimately, it will be about the bottom line. The Bliss has been sailing for a little over a year. The Joy a few months. The Encore a few days. If the casinos start bringing less revenue, “adjustments” will be made.

    Do you remember when the Escape has a non-smoking casino?  Not many people do, because it didn’t last very long when it impacted casino revenue. One day, cases of ash trays were loaded on the ship and that was the end of a non-smoking casino.

    Point of order the Joy has been sailing since 2017.
