Mixed reviews from our group of 5 adults, we booked as we had sailed with Oceania before, a few years ago the choice and food for vegetarians was outstanding with plenty of choice not on our recent cruise, have just returned on Nautica, only had 3 veggie soups in MDR in evening one over two weeks in Terrace during the day, we found a lot of repeats, not so much choice, however, the fish and meat eaters did well, only one tough chop and one dry dover sole, the rest was very good quality, terrace has a good choice but our market buffett was repeated over two days, with only one choice for vegetarians, really not good ! Depends I guess on what you like to eat.

I am in process of doing this too. I can upload the pictures but unable to crop them as per the instructions. Not sure if the pictures need to fit into the dotted circle or not. Can anyone with previous experience advise?
There are 5 of going away soon and none of us could get it to fit, however the completion came up as done so we are assuming it is OK. If not they will quickly do it at port.

I could go on. Food not labelled correctly, two days when all three main dishes in Windows contained gluten. Dreadful deserts in main dining room. Choosing dinner the night before is standard but they never knew what the two chefs specials would be the next day and wouldn’t let me see the desert menu, I just got what they decided.
So, great cruise, great ship but probably my a lot of improvment needed in the gf department,
Although I am vegetarian not gf, I would agree about food, as per my comments, I did not like their attitude and everything to me seemed bought in, a real shame as they do much really well, food however is not one of them and I think for the premium price one pays it should be better,

HGC is correct...the suite and the loyalty benefits now combine, but only for Veranda Plus category and above. See the links I shared in Post#3
Thanks I was just curious as we have only just got back I guess it depends on when you book? We were on 8th Feb to New Zealand for 15 nights, but thanks for info.

They have now changed so that the benefits are combined, so anyone of Explorer level or above in a Suite/Veranda Plus gets 2 bags of laundry per 7 days
Thanks for info, to late for us now we only got back 10 days ago, ut booked 8 months ago, nice to know though for others.

So, you would earn two* bags of complimentary laundry on the first segment, and four* bags of laundry on the second segment of your B2B, and one night in our Specialty Restaurants on first segment, and two nights on second segment.
When we were recently on 15 night to New Zealand we only had 1 bag per 7 days ?? And we were in Club Continent, we did ask and told this was correct how come the Veranda gets 4 bags on 15 night?

Went 11 years ago on QM2 fab and not too rough going round the horn. Next year going to Rio and then to Amazon, on 21 day cruise. Fantastic place amazing scenery, wildlife, etc, go if you can.

I was a little confused what you meant by whole egg,
I explained I do not eat boiled, fried, scrambled eggs etc but would eat them as a glaze or in a cake or something similar. I appreciate they have to be careful, but the food was generally very poor not fine dining and they were very rigid in their approach, never mind I guess we have been unlucky like 10 years ago, but are booked onto Oceania for next year, so no worries, still enjoyed the ports of call and azamazing evening.

This is always the difficult part . I walk occasionally with a stick mostly longer distances as after two knee replacements , one of them is loose and sometimes troubles me and I also have an arthritic back however I do not see myself as needing to take up the space that may be needed by someone more needy. All I really need is somewhere to sit and queue rather than stand.
Hi on our azamazing evening recently in Wellington anyone with a mobility issue was asked to go first, other than that it was done by deck number. All very well organised, no standing around and quick to get people out of venue and back on buses. Have fun.

If you take the tour, you will not be disappointed. Fantastic experience, and completely changed the way I viewed Carnaval in Rio.
Thanks I have looked it up, we are trying to change our plans to be able to do this too.

For some of the ports, we used Do Brazil Right.
Some lovely ideas thanks, did Oceania do the trip into Boca to the village, I would love to do that.
Can I ask why you did not lie the tours with Do Brazil right, they have been recommended by someone else and I just wondered, we were thinking of doing Recife and Manaus with them.
I always try to get off if only for a few hours or I go cabin crazy, thanks for all the help.

Forgot to mention - our favorite stop in Rio was the Samba school visit with Carnaval Experience.

Now, there is something I feel the need to mention: Brazil is not a wealthy country. There is poverty, and graffiti. Things are not manicured, and the tourism industry is not well-developed. It's an inward-looking country. My husband and I were very put off by our fellow passengers on our ship who, it seemed, bitched incessantly about how "There is nothing to see here", and... "worse cruise ever". It shocked me how little thought and research these people did before taking this cruise (12 days along the Brazilian coast from Rio to BA). It was clearly not what they expected - tough I'm at a loss as to what they did expect. There was plenty to see, the people are warm and fun to be around... but it's not the Amalfi coast.
Thanks for the suggestions, we are in touch with a local company re Rio and Manaus and Recife, also found a few things to do in other places, looks like plenty to do for us. I understand what you are saying, we have been to lots of places that are poorer countries than UK including India, we take it as we find it, and always enjoy!

Possibly overlooked in Rio are the Botanical Gardens (so beautiful, so peaceful) and the artsy neighbourhood of St. Theresa (so much energy).
Thanks, I had thought of that, lovely suggestion

Some individual tours are actually less than what Oceania charges, depending on how many people are going (I'm doing it with 2 people). If you have space I would also recommend going to the dollar store and buying a few trinkets (such as stuffed animals or coloring books). These where very well received as most people don't have much in the Amazon. Good luck and enjoy.
Thanks for the info, yes I have stated colouring pencils, etc, I agree just home from New Zealand and we did most tours on our own through local companies and they all cost half the price of Azamara. Enjoy your trip from Sydney!

Use the Ports of Call/Destinations boards here even though they don't have a huge amount of tour recommendations. You should also be able to utilize Trip Advisor too.
Have a wonderful cruise
Thanks so much, I must apologise forthe spelling mistakes, just home and obviously jet lagged, thanks for wonderful suggestions.

For Rio, we hired a private GUIDE for 2 days. Our ship ship stayed overnight and then we disembarked the second day. TOUR GUIDE GUS , was amazing. On the second day he picked us up eith our luggage, toured with us and at night dropped us off at the airport. He knew all the best places. I wouldn't go wandering on my own.
Thanks for info we may only be there 1 night. and in the morning before cruise, depending on flights, ut thanks good to know.

We never felt unsafe in Rio, walked around on our own, took the metro and VLT often.
In St Bart's, we rented an ATV to go around the whole, small island. They brought the ATV to the dock.
In St Lucia, we rented a car with a couple we "met" on cruise critic.
Thanks for the info, good to know you felt safe, all sounds wonderful, can't wait.

Thanks for that tip will look that up, we have heard so many stories of how unsafe it is, so to have a guide would be good, thank you.
