Le Havre, France - Port Bookings *UPDATE* (Correct as of 17/10/23)
3 Independence OTS calls have now been removed for 2025, so they definitely seem to be having ‘second thoughts’ with lots of their bookings 🤔. This suggests that there will only be one of the usual ‘France & Spain’ 7-nighters, quite a change compared to what we are used to with Anthem. The only remaining call is:
23rd September 2025 - Independence OTS
Possibly going to be turning more attention to Spain/Portugal and the Canaries for better weather?

Is Utopia appearing on any port schedules yet?

What does Anthem do?🤔
Presumably… either heads to join all the other Quantum Classes (minus Odyssey) OR stays in Europe year round I think?
-
Do we think Symphony to NJ is permanent? I.e - in Summer 25 will it carry on being Symphony or return to being Oasis once she’s back from Europe.

Lisbon? Malaga? Barcelona? 🤞
Possible. But what would the plan be for Summer 25 then if Odyssey is going to Southampton 🤔

I vaguely remember seeing mention of something that potentially could have been instrumental in the rumours but I have absolutely no recollection of where or when I saw it (or even if I saw it at all for that matter. Could be having a serious senior moment 😱)
Anyway, I hope they turn out to be right. Winter sun cruise to the Canaries? Yes, please! 😆
Canaries from Southampton would be brilliant, but probably unlikely.

Really keen to see what Anthem's going to be doing, if the rumours that she'll be staying in Europe turn out to be right.
Has she appeared on any port bookings?

Spectrum is leaving Singapore, and something has to replace these itineraries down here. So what is likely is:
- This marks the end of the Quantum class era in Singapore from 2014 till 2023, as the 5 year contract ends this year.
- Singapore market is likely going to see a downgrade of product but royal thinks its an upgrade which would be homeporting 2 smaller ships seasonally.
- I am guessing a Freedom and voyager class ship for this season. Radiance is too small and not attractive enough for the market on routine trips.
Could anthem be heading to this region?

Oasis / Anthem?
Don’t know why they would do Anthem. Surely if they were going to do that it would have made more sense to use Odyssey 🤷♂️

It's interesting to read that P&O Australia will be adding water slides to the two Grand class ships they are receiving from Princess. I still think that with Arvia doing the Catibbean in winter and the Med in summer that P&O have missed a trick with her build.
Yeah I think they half tried to introduce something with the Skywalk thing on Arvia but I’m surprised they haven’t tried slides yet.
I could see Arvia taking over the med fly cruises in a few years
-
I’d like to see another Royal class come over from Princess, but can’t see it being likely. If anything I guess they may transfer a grand class in the future.

The second part of the sale list solved. After news that AIDAaura is leaving at the end of the 2023 season, now Costa Magica has been sold to Seajets (who also bought and laid up Oceana).
Wonder if they will ever use her! Presumably like Oceana and all the others they’ve brought, just holding onto them until a better offer comes along.
-
I assume the larger ships are expected to do the same kind of cruises again Summer 25? I.e Iona Fjords, Azura Malta etc
Would be interesting if Arv & Azu swapped for the Malta fly cruises.

No test loads of any longer Caribbean sailings...looks like they are staggering the releases
Which ships are we still not sure? I thought they had already announced a load of longer ones but haven’t been paying too much attention to the Caribbean ones!

Enchantment - short Tampa
Liberty - short FLL
Mariner - short Galveston
Voyager - short Port Canaveral
Independence on longer Caribbean?

Now Copenhagen has been dropped, can we see 2 ships in Amsterdam or even 2 in Southampton.
Michael Bayley did say Southampton did deserve a 2nd ship for the positive numbers after covid
I would love 2 ships but I don’t think it would happen, especially 2 Quantum Class.
Numbers weren’t even that favourable when they tried having Independence & Anthem.

I agree that Anthem is a better fit for NJ, but would be excited to see Odyssey in Southampton. At least those in NJ have different ships throughout the summer, whereas Southampton has only had Anthem since 2020. Maybe Royal could focus more on warmer sailings from Southampton, as opposed to Northern Europe, in order to take advantage of Odyssey’s improved outdoor areas.
That is true, and like I say not opposed to her coming to Southampton. Should send both Anthem can do the Fjords and Odyssey Med & Canaries 🤣.
There is a lot of newer ships doing Southampton now with Iona, Arvia, MSC Euribia/Virtuosa & Celebrity Apex so maybe they are just updating the offering

Looking further ahead into 2025 port bookings, it looks like Odyssey will homeport in Southampton for Summer 2025, after its winter season in NJ. It definitely looks like there are no plans to bring Anthem back to Southampton in 2025.
Interesting! I certainly wouldn’t say no to Odyssey out of Southampton but I would have that Anthem is the better fit for NJ/Southampton 🤔
-
If they are going to do winter cruise from the UK (or Europe), then I think Anthem would be the one they would choose to do it. It fits in with the colder climates the best, which is why I’m not really sure about the movement of Odyssey to NJ as it’s the only Quantum class that isn’t.
Or perhaps Anthem will go somewhere completely different after her Summer 24 season out of Southampton and in Summer 25 it will be a different class altogether 🤔

So where is Anthem off to?
Is Antarctica cruises a possibility?
Could she be staying in Southampton in the winter , long shot, but MSC do it now?
If Odyssey was to take over the NJ/Southampton itineraries in 2025 would any other ship take over the Greek Isles itineraries she does at the moment?

Nope. Indy is still only showing up to the end of April 2024.
Great, thank you.
Any idea what she will be doing? Short Carib? -
Apologies, but missed a whole chunk of news on deployments this year. Any news on Indy yet?

If you filter by ship it is showing for Europe: Allure, Explorer, Independence & Odyssey. No cruises showing for any though.
