This is exactly why we decided to give Princess a try. We wanted no part of the 20's crowd that seem to gravitate towards Carnival, and had our fill of the zoo on the big RCCL ships. I will plan to do an accurate, objective review of our cruise in December.

If you were going with us in January, we could have told fishing stories back and forth!  Have a great time!

  2. We sat and listened/watched all the specialty drinks being made.  Interesting as heck.  My wife doesn’t drink so me and my friend were designated testers….😎.  Block off the times they present, won’t be disappointed!

  3. Never been on Caribbean Princess, but primarily sail with Princess.  We love Princess because of the fellow cruisers.  More mature in respect to attitude vs age.  They are not really loud and obnoxious cruisers, but very laid back.  I will say we have seen our cruises since Covid have a more folks in mid-30’s and 20’s.  Food has always been great, service wonderful.  If your ship was recently restored, should be fine.  The smaller ships seems a lot more intimate.  We want nothing to do with “slides and rides”!   Just a few Smooth Sailings and watching the ships wake in the rear of the ship.  Pure relaxation…

Thanks to everyone for responding. Problem solved. It pays to obsessively stalk availability on Princess site. This morning a nice aft suite came up and I grabbed it consolidating us into one room with the same perks.

    Awesome!  Enjoy your cruise!

  5. All depends on weather.  We had one cruise like Rick&Jeannie mentioned which was awesome and it was on the putting green.  We also had some cancelled.   Last cruise we used our stargazing apps at the wakeview bar and had a great time!  I live across from the Tamke Allan Observatory would love to have that perfect night on a cruise!

My husband and I couldn't care any less about formal nights, photo ops with the captain, or any of the myriad "spectacular" activities offered on the mega-ships. We enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of cruising, of being pampered, of not being rushed, of being able to sit and watch the water, and the partaking of an overpriced drink or two each day. We treat our room steward kindly, we don't make unreasonable requests, we tip over and above the automatic tipping, and we make sure to say please and thank you to all staff members we encounter. We do our best to pick the best cabin we can, but don't make a big deal if our view is "obstructed" or if we can't get the exact location we want. We prefer junior suites but are just as happy if we get a standard balcony. We don't care if it connects to another cabin. Destination is more important to us than the ship, and will always be more important to us than cabin location. Every cabin on the ship gets to the same place at the same time. We are just happy to cruise. Period.

Great response!  Not about the finish but the journey!

i choose the cruise by price first, itinerary second.  I have done 4 Alaskan cruises because they were dirt cheap ( last one in 2022 was $50.00pp for 7 days for balcony).  I don't care if I have been to the ports before ( i will stay on ship and enjoy the emptiness). Although I will never do a mexican riviera cruise out of Los Angeles.  I don't get off the ship in any mexican ports on the west coast.  I just look forward to getting away, not driving, and staying in so so hotels.

I almost missed my ship in Encenada, damn Papa’s and Beers!  One and only time I was a dock runner!  I was young and stupid…

  8. Mine has maxed out settings, I’m used to breathing in a wind tunnel, folks who have a cpap feel mine and freak out on the pressure (I have no neck…😂).  I would love something for our RV and power outages (sleep in truck with ac-dc converter or rv generator).  I’ve had mine 7 years and have not used it three times…if I don’t have it, I may sleep in 15m naps…first thing I pack and always a carry on.  I’m interested though but need to talk to my doctor first….
