That's a pretty funny story as it's a very popular drink in Italy.  For a couple weeks now, I've asked servers and bartenders for an Apertif Spritz and getting looks of confusion and a sometimes questions I couldn't understand.  So I would show them a picture and they would nod and walk away.  At one point, I even said to the server, I just know it's orange and yummy.  It wasn't until yesterday when I watched them mix the drink that I saw them pour the alcohol and the bottle read Apersol.  So, the drink is called an Apersol Spritz, made with Apersol, prosecco, and club soda.

Just a small correction. It's aperol spritz... The bartenders will understand you, though they might be thinking you had a few too many 😃.

  2. We will be on a cruise with our family of nine. Can I choose a check-in time for every one of us?

Our reservations (4 rooms) are linked.

What info do you have to fill in? Birth dates/ passport numbers/ ...?

    Tnx for clarifying!

I am also going on this cruise and I’m wondering if anyone knows what happens on the disembarkation day-we disembark at Ravenna , presumably quite early on, and have a transfer to Marco Polo airport but our flight isn’t until the evening so I’m not sure what happens with luggage etc., appreciate any advice. Thanks

You can book 'Extend your stay', so you can stay on the ship longer (1h before ship sets sail again). You can find the details (cost, what's included, etc.) in the excursions section (last day).

Update in case any future cruisers are searching for the same info. When I checked in for myself and set my arrival time, it automatically assigned the arrival time for the "party".

Is this only possible per room or also when you have linked bookings (and multiple rooms)?

  5. We're first time cruisers sailing off on Connie the summer. One of our boys is into basketball big time and is looking forward to shooting some hoops on the basketball court on the upper deck.

Does anyone know where you can get the basketball/soccer balls? How does it work (deposit,....?) I sure hope we don't have to bring our own 😅😅😅.

    Tnx for enlightening us!

  6. Does anybody know where the construction they use for cleaning the windows is located on Connie? In some pictures of the ship i see it's located at cabins 8048/8050, in others it's more towards the middle of the ship.

Is the construction always in one place (when they're not using it)? Just wanted to know, so that we don't have the deception of an obstructed view in some sort...

    Tnx!

We love Any Time and always share with a table for 6 being our preferred table size. Just pre book a time and your pager woes will disappear.

How do you book a time when you have Anytime dining? Can you do this well before the cruise or only onboard? Right now, in the reservation manager i can only change to early or late seating times, no specific hours.

Furthermore, is there a seperate area for anytime diners of are they just seated throughout the MDR? We're a family of 9 cruising on Connie this summer, linked bookings, so I sure hope we will all get seated at the same (big) table every night...

  8. - Ordering a non-alcoholic drink package for one person in the stateroom, while the other have the classic beverage packages. If i try to book this online, it automatically select all the persons in the stateroom: impossible to just select the one person.

    - question on how to purchase the prepaid tips. In the planner it is mentioned as an 'add on',, but when i press the + button, bothing happens. The prepaid tips aren't added to the amount due...

I guess those are both IT-related questions, so i thought i'd give it a try to reach to Celebrity by mail. I've now used the one Denny mentionned (tnx Denny 😉).

But while i'm at it, a short final question. On connie (and maybe on other ships too) you can select a regular concierge class stateroom or a 'prime' concierge class stateroom. It's the same price... Is the location of the staterooms the criterium?

    Tnx for the help!

    Kind regards.

  9. Hello, we've recently booked our first Celebrity cruise on 'Connie'. Alreafy looking forward to it, but I've got 2 questions:

    - in the planner, we've booked the classic beverage packages for the adults and we want the non-alcoholic packages for our children. But when we try to book the non-alcoholic ones, we can't just select the minors. Everyone in the stateroom is selected... How can we solve this?

    - while booking the classic beverage packages, it mentioned 'gratuities' while proceeding with the payment. Does this imply that we don't have to pay any extra gratuities for our cruise (unless we go to specialty dining, etc...)

    Thanks for the help!

  10. Hello,

We're cruising the Constellation this summer during the european championship football (soccer for the Nothern Americans 😁).

Will it be broadcasted on the ship? If so, where would that be? The big movie screen? Or is there are bar where they broadcast sports?

Thanks and have a nice weekend!

  11. Hi there,

Through the cruise planner I was able to make reservations for the select dining (for the nine of us).

As you suggested, I contacted Celebrity and I received this response:

'...must see The hostess in the open dining.'

So I guess I'll have to go to the main dining room on embarkation day.

The Millennium class ships were built with far more 3rd/4th/5th berth installed than there is actual lifeboat capacity  Part of the "Revolution" is aligning the number of 3rd + berths to match actual lifeboat capacity and many rooms currently booked with more than 2 guests will have to be moved.  It's possible that the newest itineraries released already reflected the occupancy changes on the Connie, so they are just putting a stop sell on the ones that were previously bookable, and while working on moving triples/quad/quints putting all other rooms into GTY status as a temporary measure.  If they have to move your room they should contact you with a proposed new room # and if you are unhappy they should allow you to select an alternate room in the same category.

Additionally, in the near future Celebrity will be doing a fleetwide re-categorization creating new letter/number codes that will be specific to occupancy, much like Royal did a few years ago and any rooms for triple or higher will have a different code than double only.  The rooms for more than two guests will ONLY be bookable if you have 3 or more, just as is the case on Royal.  The higher occupancy rooms may then open at later dates for doubles if they need to, but initially this may make some "preferred" rooms by many cruisers unavailable to book (angled hump balcony's that are triples/quad on Solstice Class for example)

NCL is doing something similar with their ships, which again have far more 3rd/4th/5th berths installed than actual lifeboat capacity.  not sure if this is being mandated by safety regs or if it's just the cruise lines trying to maximize profit ........

I assume this must be the case.

Nevertheless it's at least not professional that X has not anticipated, making it impossible to book those occupancies after the 'revolutionization'.

Now a bunch of people who have booked a cruise that costs a lot of money are left in uncertainty. A negative feeling that could've been prevented.

Now, for those who are aware of this situation, it's wait and see until next week.
