You cannot take any type of weapon aboard ship. My then 17 year old nephew unknowingly had his pocket knife in his backpack - being from Texas he didn't think about it as we had gone hunting the week before and it was still in there. He never made it through security, took it before we boarded.

As in anywhere you go these days, be aware of your surroundings and careful about drinking too much ashore. Only place we ever had an "issue' was in Ocho Rios, we will NEVER go back there.

I read all of the beginning post and noticed that I'm getting information from misinformed past guest.

I personally called RCCL direct and was informed that YES there are Cabanas on Coco Cay and YES suite guest get priority to these cabanas, and Yes to the fact that Cabana holders receive a special lunch menu with a bottle of champagne, towels, and bottled water and can accommodate up to six guest.

We've always used EZCruise Parking, it's so close you can see the cruise ships. They shuttle and if you like your car covered you can pay a little extra to have a cover put on. Google the them.

First of all I would NEVER again park in the RCCL parking lot or the "whale lot" as it is referred to. We parked there for our 7 day cruise Jan. 3 of this year, $112. 00 for uncovered parking. Yes it was close we drove up left our luggage and continued less the 1/2 block. When we returned a porter helped by taking our luggage to the car. After he loaded the luggage and left that's when he discovered the problem. We were parked in a handicap spot as we have handicap plates, we were next to the wall and over the wall is RR tracks. Our car was covered even the windows with some sort of grit. When we got home to it to where we get our vehicles cleans, cost over $300.00 to get it cleaned. It had to be hand buffed over and over even the glass. The detail mgr. said it appeared to be some sort of "overspray" or something very gritty. I contacted RCCL and told sorry it's not out lot!! Now Carnival we found out has a covered facility.

We will be there again in April so will look at the Fulton garage.

No one seemed interested in the but it cost us $325.00 to get our car cleaned. They said it looked and felt like some sort of overspray. The entire car including the windows had to be polished/buffed. Royal basically said sorry it's not our lot it belongs to the city!! But that is the lot they refer you to park. NEVER again.

The first time we took wine I packed it in a suitcase and I put a tag on it saying 2 bottles of wine. No problem, it was delivered to our room with our other luggage. Last time I carried it in the bag I always carry on.

We did a 10 cruise tour in 2013, our luggage was tagged, one type of tag for ones we wanted/needed and another for those we didn't. We had 4 suitcases and each had a carry on!

My DH uses a Cpap, fill out the special needs form and an extension cord and distilled water will be provided.

Just off the Serenade and all but one gentleman had a jacket.

Just back from a 7 day on the Serenade out of New Orleans. We parked in the RCCL parking lot, which is uncovered, came back and our car is coated with grit, almost like it was sand blasted. Anyone else ever experience anything like that?

My first cruise out of Galveston on Rhapsody went to Key West (and Cozumel, Grand Cayman). I really enjoyed that itinerary and wish they would bring it back.

 

NOLA does go to Key West with a Radiance class ship. They also go to Coco Cay and Nassau. I do enjoy those two ports, but preferred the Western Caribbean with Key West thrown in.

Our first cruise was on the Rhapsody and those were our ports!!! We loved the Rhapsody only on her twice! Our next 2 are out of NOLA.

It's on the "pre-cruise planner" page but tried to book and no go. I have made 4 calls in the past month and each time told "oh you can book it once it's on the page". Well called this morning and told "you have to book on ship"!! Why have it on line and why get told you can book on line and then NO GO!!!!

An adult does NOT have to be booked with the children in the original post. The family is in two CONNECTED cabins. That fulfills all of RC's requirements.

Not being our children had NOTHING to do with it, when I booked the two adjoining cabins the TA said that was the way it had to be done and others who have taken THEIR underage children had to do the same!

I have read that you are allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine per stateroom.

 

How do you bring it? I guess it can't go in your luggage - so do you just bring it as a carry-on?

 

Also, my sister has two connected staterooms booked. One for her and her husband and one for their 3 kids.

 

Is the room with the 3 kids in it - still able to bring 2 bottles of wine or not because there are no adults in that room?

We packed ours in bubble wrap and no problem. As to the kids room if they are underage -21- an adult has to be listed in that room. We took our nephews 14 and 18 at the time, one was listed with me and the other with my husband. We had adjoining cabins and we had the doors between the 2 unlocked by the room steward. We took 4 bottles, 2 in my luggage and 2 in my husbands. I marked each bag with a label stating 2 bottles of wine .

Anything I should know about ROS or Southbound 7 day cruise? I am looking for a hotel in both ANC and Vancouver. Also, anything about the ship that is a must see.

We did a 10 day cruise tour on her starting June 28 out of Vancouver. We stayed at the Empire Hotel, great view, revolving restaurant on top. Its downtown on Robison I think... we walked around downtown and really enjoyed it. Wish we had been there more then 2 days. The ship was OK, crew were great and we had a great time. Alaska is truly the last frontier and so beautiful!

Everyone yield all opinions to Mr. Experience-know-it-all Beachin2! If you disagree it is because you are obviously a moron, not in his league of knowledge, and probably are an idiot Texan as well! He will also take his toys and go home, curse you, and then smirk when we are all left high and dry with no ships. I just do not know how in the world I make it through life without having him guide instruct me in all of lifes foibles and picadilloes.

First of all I resent your "idiot Texan" remark, not called for. We have cruised out of Galveston and the last time was in March and it was not a good experience. We've gone out of Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale and

Vancouver BC. Of all Vancouver was the best, no problems whatsoever. Problems can happened anytime anywhere, just roll with the punches and enjoy your cruise.

Got one too for the Independence of the Seas and we've never been on her.

It's amazing how this subject brings out the "rudeness". As I stated before we enjoy dressing for formal nights. We live in San Antonio TX and my DH and I enjoy going out to dinner and at least every few months he will wear a coat and tie and I put on heels and a dress. Sometimes he wears his boots and western sport coat and he always looks good. That is the same on a cruise. Wear what you want but i will say on formal nights no jeans, t-shirts or shorts.

We took our nephews 15 and 18 in their first cruise on the Allure, gave them the option of dressing formal, they opted to wear a tux and enjoyed the experience and wore them both nights.

No need to be rude, such as the "geriatric prom" comment. This "senior" citizen dances, swims and bikes regularly.
