I always thought the Coral and Island Princess were sister ships.  Did the Coral always have an International Cafe and the Island did not?  Or did the Island lose its dedicated IC after the aft cabins were added?

Almond Croissants are my favorite and Princess makes some of the best.  For those ships without an IC can you get the almond croissants in the buffet area?  I'm hoping during the next Island Princess dry-dock that they add the international cafe.  Is a photo gallery even needed on ships anymore?  I hate seeing all the pictures displayed knowing most will be destroyed, seems better to have digital viewing.  Maybe one could be added there

You are correct, Coral and Island are sister ships. I remember reading a while ago that neither were built with a dedicated IC. I read that the IC was added to the Coral at some point but it was never added to the Island (obviously). It basically took real estate from the casino which is why it is right next to the casino and much smaller than other ships.

  2. Our experience has been very good with EZair. We find the flights overseas from SFO nonstop in business class especially to be very good price wise. With regards to domestic flights, we have found so far it is less expensive to book direct with the carrier.

Coral as it's the only one of the group that can sail the old locks. Having done the old locks twice and the new locks once I definitely prefer the old locks and can't imagine having my first time through the canal being in the new locks.

Agree 100%. If you have never done the old locks, Coral is a must. It was one of our most memorable cruises of all time.

  4. Mine seems to be working OK, BUT, I keep having to order medallions. I think I have ordered them 2 or 3 times. It will be fine for a week then show incomplete and shows needing to order medallions again. I am Plus and it shows a $10.00 shipping as well. I will get that back at GS if I need to.

  5. Yikes, I just took a look at my app and my upcoming 7 day Enchanted cruise 4/27 to 3/2 FLL>FLL shows the itinerary of a 26day Sydney>SF cruise we cancelled a few months ago. What a mess. It is randomly looking at incorrect info etc.

  6. OK, all of a sudden the app needs me to place an order for the medallions again which is no problem, however it wants to charge me $10.00 for shipping.

I have the Plus package which clearly shows medallion shipping as included.

Do I just complete the order or leave it alone and see what happens? I did not have this issue on previous cruises.

  7. Wow, have read thru this whole thread and it took me back to our first cruise.

Would have been back in the early 90's. We were on our very first cruise on the Sovereign of the Seas. Remember her? Anyway we were doing a Carribean cruise and one of the stops was to be Haiti that morning. The port was cancelled due to a coup underway in Haiti, and we just had another sea day. We knew something was up as the ship basically stopped offshore overnight (very strange feeling) kind of just eerily quietly floating.

  8. I have been looking for flights for a trip in November, SFO>FLL round trip. Comparing the same exact flights, X vs booking direct with United. The X flights are approximately $500.00 more expensive per person vs booking direct with United. Always pays to shop around.

Having said that, we have flown business class to Europe using Princess' EZAir several times and received very good pricing. Half the cost + of booking direct.

    From the Celebrity FAQ's:

If a guest books their cruise with All Included package pricing and would like to upgrade their Classic Beverage Package to the Premium Beverage Package, the best time to do so is pre-cruise, as they can enjoy a lower rate than offered onboard and upgrade easily via their Cruise Planner. To access the Cruise Planner, guests can simply download the Celebrity Cruises app or navigate to www.celebritycruises.com and log in to their Guest Account. The upgrade charge will be $20 per person per day which includes the beverage gratuity. Guests may also upgrade their beverage package from Classic to Premium once onboard the ship.

Also watch your planner to see if the price changes favorably,  If it does, you can cancel and rebook to the lower price without penalty pre-cruise.

Thank you, will watch prices and for any offers regarding the package and purchase accordingly.

I wonder why it is not offered as an option at booking time like Princess. They offer both plus and premier at booking time.

  10. Hello all,

Long time Princess cruiser booking my first X cruise.

I have a quick question. When booking and selecting the all included package, it consists of the classic drink package.

I do not see anywhere in the booking to choose the premium package.

Question is, at what point do you purchase the upgrade?

    Chris
