Kindly correct me if I'm wrong:

I always thought that you could transfer your booking to a TA within 30 days after you booked a cruise, not within 30 days after you bought a FCC ( Future Cruise Certificate ).

I'm pretty sure (?? ) we bought a FCC on board , then, after we got home, within 6 months I called Celebrity, booked a cruise with them, and immediately upon request they transferred the booking to our TA.

    Is the above correct ?

    1. Non taken. History repeats itself and Albert Einstein was talking about the Leafs on his lesson of insanity. Never expect them to go past the first round.

    2. Yea, and it seem like celebrity has the highest deposit. Was hoping to hear of a way to lower is.  HAL has the annual $1 deposit promotion, Virgin has transferable vouchers ect. Seem like Celebrity might have this Book Later certificate, that is transferable? But I will need to research more on that.

    3. Similar to the above, looking into the difference between the two.

    4. ALWAYS transfer to a TA for the added perks. Not sure why the cruise line industry can't realize that they can save by offering incentives to book directly rather than paying out commissions.

Re #1– “ Non taken “—- I was referring to No Offence as in “ put the puck in the net “—— not meant to “ Offend “ you.

They probably had tee times booked???
Re#4– we do the same— love them Gift Cards— sure better than OBC or a bottle of wine

Had some questions for the Celebrity pros out there. Any tips of tricks to booking a cruise with the lowest Non Refundable deposit possible?

" Celebrity pros " ?? Oh Boy---- Let's see what you say in a month or two.

1--- Sorry about your Leafs --- no offence, no defense, no advancement to round 2.

2--- The Non-refundable deposit amount is set by the cruise line and the cost of the cruise is lower than a Refundable deposit.

Also, if you book a Non-refundable on board, it is usually $100US per person.

They don't accept $$Canadian or Canadian Tire coupons.

3--- While on board , you can purchase a Future Cruise Certificate ( $100US per person )---You then have 6 months to book ( not take ) a cruise.

If you don't, the Certificate is cancelled and you lose your $100.

4--- With Celebrity you have the option to transfer your booking to a TA of your choice within 30 days of booking---- some of us ( we ) do, due to the benefits.

We are not allowed to recommend/explain such on CC.

I'm curious to know if anyone knows what concrete benefits crew members can receive when they are recognized with positive reviews after the cruise.

From what " We " hear , they are rewarded with position advancement, and perhaps an extra day off, etc ---

However, the best reward is $$$$US from passengers !!!

1---So if you had to pick one speciality restaurant/meal to do on the Reflection what would it be?

2---are there any locations for a sit-down, non buffet option for breakfast and/or lunch?

1--- Murano--- by far-- excellent service , excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent advice from several others, AND a suggestion, treat yourself to another specialty restaurant--- Lawn Club Grill ( as long as the weather permits )--- Never had a bad meal or poor service there--- Both are well worth it.

2---The MDR is open for a full breakfast daily until 9 am --- If you prefer a table for 2, no problem--- just ask the Hostess.

  7. I might have missed it.

What is the Annual Fee for the card ?

Who is the Issuer of the card ?

If someone is not a frequent cruiser, why get the card ?

LOL, and for what it's worth ----- If you think of the $$$$ spent towards Captain Club point levels, it's totally " nuts " for the perks they provide.

Wait !!!  Take that back !! I forgot about the 1 scoop of gelato !!!!

  8. No interest in getting a credit card for OBC or points that can be applied to cruise travel because we don’t cruise enough.

The best “ Thanks for your business “ is the return from Big Box Travel ( 8-9% of total cost of cruise returned in a Gift Card ).

Also, 3% of the cost is added to your membership account which is returned to holder once per year.

How could anyone eat 6 pieces of that pizza?  Were your taste buds damaged?    You did forgot those hamburgers lying in the grease   at the Mast Grill.

    You missed  the last sentence------

    "And then-------I wake up !!!!! "

    I was having a dream.

LOL--- In " real " life I don't eat the pizza or hamburgers at the Mast Grill----

The rest of the " healthy " meals I mentioned ----- Absolutely !!

What are some of your favorite healthy meals on Celebrity ships?

    To name a few :

    Breakfast:

    Eggs Benedict ---- 2 bagels/smoked salmon--- 4 Danish pastries

    Lunch:

Nothing special-- perhaps a salad / French bread ---6 slices of pizza ---dish of ice cream /4 chocolate chip cookies  ( gotta save " room " for dinner )---

    Dinner:

    3 Shrimp cocktails to start

Prime rib---- lots of sauce----easy on the green beans and carrot sticks

Beef tenderloin---- extra gravy--- easy on the mashed potatoes-- no green beans ( had 'em yesterday )

Various chicken dishes---- minimum amount of vegetables

Various Indian dishes--- especially Butter Chicken

Creme Brule ---- Chocolate deserts--- Cherries Jubilee

    And then-------I wake up !!!!!

I'm new to Celebrity, my neighbors are looking to do a group March 3 2025.

As long as the cruise is 7 days or more--- I wouldn't worry about it.

On every cruise there are folks that drink toooooo much and disturb others.

Some disturb others in other ways (I better stick to the topic and not get all " worked up " ).

LOL--- Just go, have a great time , and make sure none of your neighbors hang upside down pineapple stickers on their door. Otherwise, you will be getting new neighbors when you get back home.

Just make sure your accounts are linked otherwise OBC will only be deducted from one of you. The linking shows on the account.

If whomever you are traveling with are charging everything to the same credit card on file, the accounts are automatically linked.

An example--- $18 per day per passenger for gratuities = $36 for 2 people ----

Lets say the cruise is 10 days----- $36 x 10 days= $350 will be deducted from any OBC.

The balance will be charged on your credit card.

    How's that for math???

I wouldn't mind having family time if the kids would just stop calling me that old fat guy.

    YOU got a complex !!
What makes you think it’s you?

Holy S—, 99.5% of the men in the Solarium are old and fat !

Are you that “old crab “ that you didn’t like when you were a kid?

Let the kids have some fun— let them splash water on you—let them yell at each other—watch them running around the Solarium pool screaming———so what, if their towel hits ya in the “chops “ while you were dozing—

Guess what time WE get the hell out of the Solarium??

To be honest, the kids that we have seen in the Solarium were very well behaved—— Much better than some of the adults—— that’s no joke.

  14. So, when we were on the Edge I made a reservation each night for a different dining room---spent " hours " figuring, studying the menus, etc---- a total waste of time.

The Maitre'd in the Normandy Dining Room ( forgot his name ) --- real nice guy--- on the first night asked if we liked the service/menu etc---- " Of course, it's excellent ".

He said, " If you would like, just come at any time----and bye the way, if there is a " special dish, not on the menu, I can arrange it for you the next night ".

    It worked out perfectly.

The giant toads were fascinating  I still recall them. We got to pick them up. The banana plantation was interesting too. The banana pickers rode around on sort of zip lines from tree to tree. Not what I would have expected. Also a very high percentage of the picked bananas are rejected for export.

You got to pick up a toad.

A lady posted that she got to pick up ( hold ) the Captain’s cat .

I’m waiting for some old fart to brag about the 32 year old he picked up.

    Much more interesting.

I doubt it was on a banana plantation tour and cost a lot more.
    Come to think of it—

People that go on pineapple tours , Why do they hang pictures/stickers with pineapples upside down on their stateroom door?

I’ll bet they get a good “kickback”.

"Don’t let the critics get you down, we’re a tough crowd" !!!!

Not so true----- UNLESS you question/comment on etc:

1--WHY ya puttin pictures of what you ate on CC

2--WHO Cares who the Captain will be on your cruise in 2026

3--Are YOU serious, NO round tomatoes. NO shredded cheese

4--So, YA met her cat ?? OOOKKKK !!!

5--What would you do with $7.50 of OBC not spent

6--My all time favorite----- My Waiter forgot to bring my 3 shrimp cocktails at the same time

You can visit a Banana plantation in St Lucia but not sure it’s going to have what you’re looking for except a lot of bananas

    Correct--as evidenced in post #5

A total waste of time and $$---

On a positive note----- You are " guaranteed " to see pictures of the Guide's 7,8, " whatever " number of kids.

LOL--- I'll bet every Guide has the same pictures with the same kids---

On another note, I saw that the specialty restaurants had a children's price. Does that require them to order from a kids menu or can we have them order off the regular menu?

They can order off either menu---

For a " special treat " try Murano if it is on that ship.

Excellent food--- French service--- nice memory

  19. Go Chiefs !!!

    Ok, here goes :

Years ago we visited a banana plantation in Limon Costa Rica---- Talk about " agony " !!

The cruise lasted about 8 hrs ( ?? ) because it was far from the port--

Anyway---- On the way back our Guide stopped the bus a few miles from the port--- took out a handkerchief , wiped his eyes, and said " I have to tell you, You are THE nicest group I have ever had "---- then proceeded through the bus showing pictures of his kids ( the women looked, the men looked out the window )----- I had a " feeling " of what was coming.

When we got back to the port, a few men ( me included ) tried to get off through the back door ----- the bum had it locked !!  Guess why ??

Correct---- That hug/handshake cost me another few $$US !!

    Absolutely true story !!

That's called " Marketing 611 "---- sure beats the "1 Free scoop of gelato" when you become Elite !!

1--Our kids are experienced cruisers, who love a good buffet and typically enjoy cruising,

2--Should we be worried that they are going to be bored on this ship?

    1---LOL--- There's the answer---

Save losing the $1000---and forever " guessing " whether you did the right thing.

Also, your question is impossible for anyone on CC because I doubt anyone knows your children.

Most likely there will be other children on board---- somehow, they will find each other and have a great time.

2---( Been there, done that )----So, If they are bored --- LOL----" Find something to do " !!

    How ya feelin now ???

Last year I brought cat toys for Bug didn't see her at all so ended up bringing them home to my cats.  I hear Captain Leo is very nice too.

Is that " really " true ?? You brought cat toys " hoping " to meet Captain Kate and her cat??

About " Captains "--- Met many--- Every one was very approachable when walking around the ship. Their " public relations " (IMO) is excellent.

One day the Captain ( forgot who ) was walking by our Stateroom and we had a little chat--

" How many cruises with Celebrity, where are you from "--- all the standard chit chat ---and finished with " As Captain, I am ordering you to continue enjoying the cruise --- and, eat as much as you want ".
