I NEVER drink alcohol and I get my fair use out of the drinks package.  I usually have about 3-4 drinks a day, more once the weather gets warmer.  I use mocktails when I'm with those who do drink.

If the cruise is only 3-4 days, I don't get the package, but if it's 5+ days, you bet I get the drink package!

Why on 5+ days but not 3-4 day cruises?

Refunded to credit card within 6 weeks  of original sail date.

    1. Our port fees and taxes came back 1st.

    2.  Spa money next

    3.  Internet and water last.

Everything else we had rolled into new cruise.   So we are thrilled with Carnival...every dime accounted for.

Just by these boards, Carnival is doing a GREAT job compared to Princess.  I can't find a post yet where someone has been refunded.

That’s awesome! When was your sail date? When was the refund date?

Carnival Glory Cruise for 10/25/2020 Sail Date:

    1) Booked on March 7th, 2019 - Paid $718.00 for Vacation protection, Prepaid Gratuities, deposit.  VISA (Synchrony Financial/PayPal)

    2) Paid entire remaining balance on June 30th 2020 = $1532.90  MASTERCARD (Citi)

    3) Cancelled March 22nd, 2020 - IAW Contract, prior to 90 days before sailing date, I am entitled to a 100% refund back to original forms of payment.

    4) I am in receipt of a Cancellation Confirmation stating that I would receive FULL refunds within 10-14 business days.

    5) Called on 14th Business Day:  April 9th, 2020 and inquired as to why I have not been paid back yet.  Carnival employee was EXTREMELY rude and told me "if you are lucky, you MIGHT see a refund in 90 days or so".
I asked to speak to a supervisor.  Supervisor was likewise rude and told me there was nothing he could do and HUNG UP IN MY EAR without another word.

    6) On April 9th, 2020, I filed a dispute with Citi, claiming failure to refund monies for services not received.  I included ALL relevant documentation including the cancellation letter, the online cancellation policy, AND the boiler plate "Cruise Contract" with applicable passages highlighted.... in the total amount of $1532.90

    7) On April 9th, 2020, I filed a similar dispute with Synchrony Financial in the amount of $718.00

    8.  On April 10th, Synchrony confirmed receipt of dispute and documents.

    9) On April 11th, Citi confirmed receipt of dispute, and requested documentation (that had ALREADY been submitted).

    10) On April 15th, I filed a complaint with the Louisiana Attorney General's office against CCL for failure to refund for services not rendered and failure to maintain required escrow funding.

    11) On April 15th, I lodged complaints with my Louisiana State Rep and Senator.

    12) On April 15th, I lodged complaints with my US Representative, and both Senators.

There is NO balance on these cards to suspend.  I pay my bills in full EVERY month, regardless of the circumstances.
Carnival Cruise Lines should do the same.  IF I owed THEM $2,250.90, they sure as heck wouldn't let ME have 90+ days or forever...

Carnival has an accounting issue.  WE have a "putting food on the table" issue, as we, like many of you, have lost ALL sources of income.

What Carnival, et al. are doing is reprehensible and tantamount to criminal theft.

I am billing Carnival for the use of my funds at 22.5% interest calculated on an average daily balance method.

They will pay the full refund AND interest in excess of the MAX 14 business days THEY quoted to me IN WRITING, or I will place a lien on the Carnival Glory and sue them for the funds AND the pain and suffering they are causing my family.

I will never sail on Carnival Cruise Lines again....  EVER!

What is the result? Did you receive a refund or still waiting?

I received email confirmation on 3-24 (a Tuesday) that our late May Alaska cruise was cancelled.  The same day I used the link in the email to request a full refund- which indicated I would receive the refund in 30 days (so appx. 4-24).  After reading on the boards about people getting FCC instead of refunds I decided to call Royal to check on things.  I spoke to "John" in customer service on 4-4 and he confirmed I had a request for a refund logged in on 3-28 (ok- but not ok).  He assured me I would be refunded within 30 days of my request of 3-28.  I asked for email confirmation of my request for a refund ... he told me he did not have the ability to send me an email but that our call was recorded and he noted my request .... I'll let you guys know ....

Good news- I had cancelled all of our cruise planner items- drink packages, internet and arcade credits on 3-16 in anticipation of the cancellation.   I received credit to my credit card for all of those items on 3-20.

Not so good news- I've never been able to cruise twice in one year but this was the year I was doing it.  I have a late July cruise booked with extended family and final payment is coming up 5-5.  My family has never cruised before and are looking to me on what to do about making final payment .... I just don't know ........

    Cancel.

I received an email on 3/30 from Carnival telling me my April 16th cruise was canceled - by Carnival.  Filled out the form provided and requested a full refund.  On 4/8, I received another email - standard form letter from Carnival, saying they were sorry " your reservation has cancelled. If your cancellation occurred during the penalty period the amount will be listed below."  At the bottom of the letter under "Penalty Assessed," the amount shown is $0.00.   They also noted that the "unprecedented situation" is delaying processing times so "calling/emailing us" will not expedite the process.  And of course they "appreciate my patience." In the meantime, I check my credit card account daily....one can only hope that one day that refund will suddenly appear....😁

Same. Who has already received their refund and when did you cancel?

  6. What would you dispute anyway if Carnival states the refund will take 90 days? The fact that the refund isn’t provided sooner is not a case for a dispute.  I’m not sure the credit card will even accept the dispute.

  7. Has anyone received their refund yet for a cancelled cruise? I canceled about 2 weeks ago and still have not received it. How long does it take?

Cancelled and re-booked my May cruise for the end of next March. Would rather have been able to book for May again but as per the cancellation letter we had to sail by the end of March.

Aside from the obvious possibility of getting sick, I can't take the chance of being stuck on the ship and really don't want to get turned away from any ports of call.

Hopefully this will all be behind us by then.

i was told we could sail by end of 2021 and booked by end of March 2021.

We must cancel May 4 cruise. We are over 60 and following guidelines. I am sad to lose 1300$. One of us if an MD. This virus is going to kill so many people. Wish we were in our 30’s. Praying for all of you on ships to have a wonderful  and safe trip.

@beacha if you were in your 30’s would you still go as an MD?
