  1. We are sailing on the Miracle May 6th. Do you remember from which deck the tender at grand cayman was and also about how many step there were into and out of the tender? Checking for someone in our group. Thank You!

Hi Lil, We are sailing on the Miracle May 6th also. Don't know about tender, but head over to Board for Roll call for the May 6th sailing, Cruise Critic Boards ROLL CALLS

Carnival Roll Calls. Make some friends and sign up for mix and mingle. https://www.cruisecritic.com/rollcall/

    See you there,

    Jim and Shelley

  2. 1- Internet- you can go to Guest Services, Bottomless Bubbles there will be a table near the Lido Deck on Embark day, or you can go to any bar. As for quickest way, I'm afraid buying before the cruise is the fastest, but it excludes your OBC.

2- If you booked with Carnival directly, either by calling or through the website, call them, give them all 3 booking numbers and they will link them. If you used a PVP, they should have done it for you (unless they were booked separately). If you booked with a TA, then they can link them for you. If they were all booked separately, with a mix of Carnival and TA, I'm not sure- maybe try calling Carnival to see what they say?

For dining at the same table, just stop by the dining room when you board. The MaitreD will be there and can get you squared away.

  3. My wife and I have been to Coz 5 or 6 times. We do the routine posted here every time. You will have plenty of time to do beach and downtown. First head for the beach of your choice. $12 per cab not per person from pier to beaches. Hang until 1:00ish. Then grab a cab in front of beach, and go to San Miguel (Downtown). Cab from downtown to the pier is 10 or 15 minutes tops. There are a ton of cabs lined up in front of downtown to run you back. Try to enjoy one of the sidewalk cafe's by the park. The food is great and people watching is fun also. You are also in the middle of a ton of shops. Don't just hang near the waterfront, go into town a bit. Better prices in there.

  4. I just got back from a short Bahama cruise on the Carnival Liberty and I am extremely disappointed with disembarkation. Two things bothered me and I am wanting to know is this normal or a rare occurrence. Hoping some members can share their experiences. First, We did self-assist, it started at 7:30 and we were ready to get off at that time but the decks were being called super slow. We were kicked out of our cabin at 8:30am by our room steward. They called a few decks for self-assist, and then actually called a few decks with passengers with checked luggage before they even did self-assist for our deck so we literally waited about 2 1/2 hours to get off the ship. Every ship I've ever been on has done ALL self-assist passengers before passengers who checked luggage. I have NEVER had to sit and wait over 2 hours when i was doing self-assist. I thought that was strange. I am usually off the ship before 8am. I understand that they have to get the rooms cleaned, but it felt awkward being kicked out and being made to wait that long just hanging around deck with nothing to do. Again, I have never had this happen, is this the new normal? I have a first cruise with my kids booked for this summer but the thought of having to entertain them with all our luggage for over 2 hours makes me want to change ships! LOL

Hi, I always go up to the purser deck a few days into the sailing and give them a story as to why I must get off in the first wave. They always want to be helpful. But walking off as soon as they start calling anyone works also. Just leave like you own the place. They are glad to see you go and will not stop you.

  5. Good Morning:

Looking to get some ideas on some nice but not too expensive snorkle gear for both adults and children.

    Any feedback is helpful.

    Thank you. :)

Hi, I got some sets last year. They were fine. Go to Academy Sports. Snorkel combos are like 29.95

  6. Hello everyone! I'm new to cruising and new to CruiseCritic. I've been looking for a proper timeline at Grand Cayman but can't find a clear answer to my question. We are about to book the Stingray City tour from Carnival and trying to figure out what to do after...

How much time to do we have after that tour? We want to eat lunch and lounge around Seven Mile Beach... and perhaps try to peek into Tortuga Rum and Cake Factory before getting back up to the Carnival Glory. Is that too much to do afterwards?

    Thank you very much!

I have done Stingray tour 3 or 4 times. Sotoscruises.com is the way to go. They leave at 9am and 1 pm. It's 3 hours and you snorkel in the coral gardens and then go to sandbar and feed the stingrays sardines. 10 to 16ish people on the tour. The cost is $40. I'm booked on them when we go there on the Miracle in May.

  7. Hello, first time cruiser here. We are wanting to shop in Cozumel and go to a beach club. Do you have any suggestions on were to find good priced shops outside the Carnival port? Also, we were thinking about going to Mr. Sanchos or Nachi Cocom, which do you like better?

    Hi Love2cruise95,

My wife and I have been to Coz many times. Our routine is to grab a cab to the beach of your choice. Typically $12 per cab, not per person. Hang until 1pm throw on some dry clothes, then grab a cab to San Miguel (Downtown). We get lunch in one of the neat sidewalk cafes, and then do a little shopping. Our recent favorite beach is Playa Uva. We like the 4 hour open bar deal. Mr Sancho is nice. Don't know about Nachi. Cabs are everywhere, ie. Port, all the beaches, and Downtown. So you never have to wait to get somewhere. So read a bunch on the boards here to decide on the perfect beach for you.

  8. Cruising from Tampa on the Miracle May 6th. On May 11th the Miracle is at Grand Cayman from 10am until 6pm. Since Cayman is not on DST. What time is it actually in Grand Cayman? Is it 8am or 9am? Or is the posted itinerary Cayman time? I booked an afternoon Stingray City but the tour guy thinks we could do the morning. It meets at 8:45am local time at the tender dock. Also I will have to wait for ship excursions to tender in first. So if you have a handle on the times please put a note here. Thanks, Jim

  9. Hi TXfunlovinmom, We have been to Roatan 3 times and each time we use Victor Bodden. It is the best. Private driver and we go to the iguana farm and the monkey business, and all over the island. The driver will do whatever you desire. He will wait for you if your hanging at the beach or having lunch in some very neat waterside restaurants. We also bring some school supplies for an elementary school on the island. Driver will run us by the school and we hand over a couple of bags of supplies they can use. You can't go wrong with Victor's service. The kids will love the animals you can play with.

  10. i am thinking about doing my first Oceania trip

Probably 25 days to South America.

I have done lots of cruising on RCI, Carnival and Celebrity.

    Will I like Oceania?

Yes Yes Yes. My last 4 of 20 plus cruises have been on Oceania. They are tops. They treat you very well.

  11. Wow!. Just came off a 10 day Oceania cruise in French Polynesia. The 3/4 day with Patrick is the best thing you could do on this island. We had the best time swimming with sharks, feeding rays, snorkeling in the coral gardens, and having a luau on Patrick's private island. An absolutely perfect day! I've been booking my own excursions for 20 years of cruising, and this was by far a real jewel. Do not miss this opportunity for a wonderful experience. http://www.maohinui.net/en/

  13. Hi StanandJim, I'm trying to schedule a meet and greet for my roll call group Oceania Marina March 15 to 25. Can you recommend which bar we should meet in. Martini, Marina lounge, or one of the others. Might be 15 or 20 people. Thank you, Jim

  14. Hello, I will be cruising on the Marina from March 15, 2015 to March 25. Can someone tell me how the Oceania air travel will typically work. If we board on Sunday the 15th do we fly from LAX on Saturday night and arrive at 5am Sun or do they bring us in a day or 2 earlier? And when we are coming home, when do you fly out? Same day? Just let me know your experiences. I understand everything is up in the air (no pun intended) until a few months out.

    Thanks, Jim
