Why are you posting in all caps, which is considered yelling, and against Cruise Critic rules?

......says the self-proclaimed CC policeman..... someone has way too much time on their hands!

Hopefully I'll get lucky and receive the refund card before the cruise so I can use it.

Your shore excursion refund will be refunded back to the same digital card and PIN that was used at the time of purchase. You can use the "check card balance" feature to see if it has been refunded. Usually it only takes a few days.

Went to the page to purchase.  Max gift card is $2,000.  Will I still get another gift card for $200?  or is there a limit to getting the 10%

$2,000 per transaction....... you can do multiple transactions. Yes, for each $2,000 card you'll receive a $200 digital bonus card. Promotion expires today, 5/8/2022 at 11:59pm PST.

I apologize if this has already been addressed:

We have purchased the actual (not the digital) gift cards and have received them.

However,, we have  not yet received the  bonus 10% cards .

Is there a delay between the gift card and the bonus cards ?  It’s been about a week since we got the gift cards via snail mail.

Were your purchased gift cards in increments of $250.00 or $500.00 ?

All bonus cards get sent via email so I would think you would have received the email by now.

You can call the gift card company (Buyatab Online, Inc.) at 1 833-907-3080 and ask, they were fairly responsive when I've called them in the past.

Does anyone know if there is a maximum amount per day one can buy with AARP.

    Thanks much.

AARP gift cards are sold in $100 and $500 denominations. A maximum of five cards may be purchased per month. No "bonus cards", you pay $90 for the $100 card and $450 for the $500 card. All cards are digital (not physical plastic cards).

Has anyone had the experience of using gift cards and bonus gift cards to pay for cruises or purchase shore excursions in advance, and then the cruise is cancelled by HAL? If HAL cancels the cruise and I take the refund option, does the gift card value return to the gift card or to my original form of payment (my credit card)?

What if I cancel the shore excursion before the sailing date?

In both cases, funds are returned to the gift card(s) originally used.

I am about to book a cruise for next April, and I am contemplating purchasing some of the gift cards to both pay for the cruise, ultimately, and also use for the deposit.  My TA said she wasn't sure, but thought that if I used gift cards for the deposit and then decided to cancel the cruise, I wouldn't get the deposit back.  Anyone know if this is right?

Assuming you book a refundable deposit fare (as opposed to a non-refundable deposit fare) and you cancel, the funds will go back to your gift card (not a cash refund).

Yep, when you book through an Agency they have to do the work.  So are all the $25 gift cards bonus cards or did you buy them individually?

All the 10% bonus cards are issued in $25 denominations. A real pain for the TA's because they have to call HAL and apply them over the phone.

Anyone ever have an issue with purchasing the gift card? My husband tried yesterday and got an email saying that the purchase had been rejected and to call the help desk.  I was able to purchase yesterday but not today and got the say email.

I purchased several gift cards (separate transactions) and received that message on just one of the transactions. I called the support number and they were able to validate the transaction after I answered several identity related questions. I received the gift card via email within 24 hours, which was the timeframe they told me to allow to receive the gift card email.

How much is internet on a voyage of 35 days? What about a 94 day grand voyage?

On my just completed the 35 day Hawaii - South Pacific cruise on the Zuiderdam, I purchased/prepaid the Premium Internet Package about a month prior to cruise departure for $319.99 (about a 20% discount from the onboard price if I recall). The premium plan is the only plan that can be prepaid. I don't think per-minute internet is sold anymore.

Thanks so much for this info regarding the AARP purchases of HAL gift cards.  How long does it take to get the digital confirmation and gift card number when purchasing thru AARP?  Also, does the purchase show up on your credit card as AARP or Holland America?  (My cancellation travel insurance is thru my credit card)

(I realize this is a bit off-topic, but still regarding HAL gift cards. Don't mean to hijack this thread)

I purchased gift cards from AARP today..... received email with cards within five minutes of placing my online order. Charge showed up on my credit card as "AARP Rewards".
