A current update on this: My husband and I just boarded Queen Victoria in Barcelona. We brought on six wine bottles (4 in the big cases, 2 in hand luggage), and no-one said anything. We'll be taking them to the MDR paying the corkage fee. Rosanna

When I look at pre-booking private transfer from Rome airport (Fiumicino) to the Civitavecchia port, the prices are around 200€ for 2 and the transfer takes 1,5 hrs. Yet, according to RomeToRio.com, a taxi is 100-130€, taking 50 minutes. Perhaps August prices are different? Is it silly to think we can just grab a taxi outside the airport? Rosanna

Hi! I live in Gran Canaria. Taxi will be expensive, to Pasito Blanco probably upwards of 150€ per way. Bus number 30 leaves from the Santa Catalina bus station garage, a 10-minute walk from the cruise port, two or three times an hour (note that not all buses start from there), and will take you to Faro Maspalomas station in 50 minutes or so.
