  1. I pre purchased  mine for the Grand five day for $49.95 last week.

My credit is $9.99. The person at the Pursers desk knew about the correct price, 50% off and said that she will get back to me. It’s only a few dollars on my account but it should be the correct amount. Mine is non refundable also.
Beautiful day at sea today. Cabo tomorrow.  😊

I think the Captain said that we have 681 passengers on our cruise, maybe 691.

According to one of the cruisers on the 10/18 cruise (also with the 80s theme) who has access to the schedule, the Hall & Oates tribute act will get two shows in the main theater on Monday.

Here is the lineup for the 10/18 cruise. I'm bored and want to leave now. 🙂

Monday 10/18 Hall and Oats 6:45 and 8:45 Princess Theater

Tuesday 10/19 Comedian Carlos Oscar 5:30 Vista Lounge

Production Show Sweet Soul Music 6:45  Princess Theatre

Wednesday 10/20 Cabo, nothing much going on. Music at bars.

Thursday 10/21 Production Show British Invasion 8:45 Princess Theater

Friday 10/22  Comedian Carlos Oscar 7:45 Vista Lounge

    Saturday 10/23 ☹️☹️☹️☹️

Congratulations - glad you were able to get it done and everything came out negative.  How did you get your results? - email ? or text?

We have 10:00 appts.  When I booked, we had our choice for all day long, we are the only ones for Dec 9th, but sure it will get booked

Hoag is my medical facility, so know the area well

thank you again for keeping me updated and all other Orange County cruisers

It came in an email. I printed it and I have the email.

I just went on line and booked an appointment for myself and husband.  I will check back here on Sat. Nov 27th to see if you had any problems.  It was a pain with downloading the copies of drivers license, medical cards, but we do have the appt.

thank you for the info and I hope it goes smooth for you.

I just received my negative results back from Hoag. WooHoo! I was tested at 1:00 and the results came back at 5:00. They were very busy with two lanes  of cars with at least 20 cars in each lane. I also did CVS this morning. Traffic isn't fun going up to Irvine on a Saturday but it was worth it.. Hope this helps.

The hospital is right next to my Kaiser hospital in Irvine.

So I am trying to figure out how to purchase the unlimited internet plan in advance.  I have to check in to work, even on the high seas and hate using my phone as a hotspot. Any ideas how to do this?

You do it on the app. When you sign in you go to OceanReady. drop down three to MedallionNet and you purchase it there. Good luck.

I have generally had good luck calling the main number and talking to whomever answers. I have a PVP, but did not find they were any more helpful to me during this last go around (book, rebook, then Princess rebook). I am seriously considering engaging a TA for my next cruise, though I have booked everything directly so far.

Same here, I always use a TA for the perks. I liked the old way much better when you didn't have to turn it over to the TA until final but this works.

Is it possible to sail without the medallion?

You will want to print your travel summary. It's up by where you print your luggage tags. Then take all of your check in documents that you have used in the past. I used it twice late 2019 on the Royal Princess and it worked great. Good luck. I use an iPhone.

Good for you . I'm actually going tomorrow at 1:00 for my Grand cruise, and I'm going Nov. for a RCCL cruise. I should have told you that I first took photos of my cards on my phone and then uploaded the photos. It was much easier.

We are on the Grand now. Booked an inside cabin because it was $149 pp. Asked and was upgraded to a balcony. Ship hardly has anyone on it. Rumor among crew is around 300 pax. Official word to crew is "very few" pax

That is sad about the number of passengers but you will be able to walk right up to the omelette station. 😊

We are leaving Dec 11 out of San Pedro (california), we live 40 miles from port.  I have been researching where to get our Covid Test.

local CVS and Walgreens both said that getting results back in 2 days is a hit and miss.  No guarantees.

Today my Husband and I went to Walgreens to get our Covid Booster shot and while there, we heard two different people asking about getting the results back in time to satisfy the airline, cruise line, etc.

I came home and sent email to Princess asking why they were "partners" with CVS, Walgreens, etc. if they can not provide the results in the 2-day requirement.

I would be willing pay for the Covid test at the pier, for a reasonable price ($150 is not reasonable), but they state that they have limited tests

I tried to call my dr to see if they would write a perscription for us to get rapid covid test, but as luck would have it, they do not answer their phone.

No one is making this easy

If I hear back from Princess, I will post their answer here

Hi, if you live in Trabuco Canyon you can be tested here with results in 45 minutes. You can make an appointment now. I have one for Saturday and Nov. 27th. If it doesn't work Sat. I will post back. Good luck.

I emailed mine on October 4, and it hasn’t shown up yet. I’ve always faxed in the past and have generally had it within 24 hours. I may send a fax tomorrow as a follow up. I’m 28 days from sail date, and you’re supposed to submit it no later than three weeks before your cruise, so don’t want to lose track of it and miss out.

I talked to a very nice person in the shareholders office a couple of days ago. She told me that they are backed up with 800 requests right now and they are doing the people that sail soon first. She also told me that it would take longer if you fax instead of email it in. I totally forgot to ask her why that was until I hung up. In our conversation I said that I would just fax it in like I used to and she said don't do that it will take even longer. My cruise is next week and my credit posted. Like others I did one back when no one was booking and it posted in three hours. Good luck.

Many good ideas came out in this thread.  Thank You.

MY EXPERIENCE: I stuck with my CVS 1-2 day PCR test appointment at 9:30 AM Tuesday.  I arrived about 5 minutes early and drive-thru test was completed easily.  Negative results were received in approx 25 1/5 hours from test completion.  Email came from Quest Lab, but results also found on CVS' My Chart Page.  I am ready to board the Grand for a nice getaway.

That's great news. Mine is 10:00am Sat. for a Monday cruise.

I didn't even know that someone could verbally request an upgrade. How long has this been possible?

Don't you do that at hotels too? You just politely ask if they happen to have any free upgrades. Also known as the $20 trick in Vegas where you slip a 20 over with your Id. If they can't do it they will give the 20 back. I have gotten some great upgrades over the years and some  I'm sorry.

I chose not to pay when testing should be free!  I tried earnestly to find a rapid antigen test.  I live in Southern California and was unsuccessful in finding one.  I could have gone to Las Vegas or Yuma, AZ ..... LOL No way!  I opted for CVS PCR 1-2 day test.  I took it early this morning and keeping fingers crossed.  If I get denied boarding because the results were not in time, next time (November)  I will drive the 20 some miles and try Kaiser.  The CVS is 2 miles from home and both said the same about timing of results.

Check out Hoag Hospital parking lot in Irvine. Plenty of Rapid tests open for tomorrow.

I can remember when Princess and other cruise lines had the fuel surcharge.  We only had the charge on two cruises  in late 2008.  Fuel charges for a 7 day cruise was an extra $35 pp and a 14 day cruise was an extra  $70 pp.

Same here, out of over seventy cruises we were charged twice and once we were credited back by the time we cruised. Pretty sure they don't want to run even more people away with a charge unless they really have to. I believe that they sneak it in on other pricing.

More details please (hopefully someone who uses this service will answer):

    1.  Where will this mobile testing site be located?

    2.  Will you be mixed with disembarkation passengers who need tests for a flight home?

    3.  How long will the wait be and what will they do with passengers between testing and boarding?

    4.  Will it serve terminals 92 and 93 (how far away)?

    5.  How will you prove that you took a test but did not receive your results in a timely manner?

    6.  Is it in place now?

I hope this will work for Princess.  I can see a step in the right direction, but with two ships in town, it could have a lot of passengers waiting to take a test.

1... In San Pedro it's in the parking lot over by the USS Iowa ship.

    2.. Don't know.

3...I'm sure you can sit on one of the benches or I can sit in my car in the parking lot.

4... Yes, they are all very close. A few minutes walk.

5...If you pay $150 you don't have to prove that you took the test in a timely manner.

    6... Yes

I haven't seen it yet, this is what I have read on other posts.
