1. A year and a half ago I sailed as surprise with my mother, sister and her DH. I was in a suite so I let our butler and consigere that it was my mother's birthday (they were not in a suite) Had a whole cake delivered to my suite before dinner and had another cake at dinner.

  2. I haven not sailed in the Haven before but will be in March, 2015 on the Gem. I usually have a suite and once the OS on the Spirit. The Haven is going be a surprise for a GF as a retirement present which after I booked she is not retiring (she got a promotion)

I will have to see if the Haven is worth the extra money instead of a regular suite

  3. I have surprized my traveling companion with an up grade to a suite one time with the ownerssuite on the Spirit and our next trip I am surprizing her with a suite in the Haven. She was suppose to retire and this was my gift to her however she is not retiring as she got a promotion.

Just a word of caution once you have a suite you will not go back

  4. I thought it was worth in but I do not think that I paid $219 I got a credit of $50 to spend at the cabana which does not go far but it was better than nothing. I am not much of a sun person so I enjoy being in the shade but you are away from the BBQ and the rest of the food

  5. I have been in a Haven suite twice - on the Epic and on the Gem, and I will try to answer your questions based on my own experience:

    1. We usually try to get to the port around 10.45-11.00 AM, and if you have a suite you are usually on board about 30 minutes later.

    2. We have tipped the butler and the concierge around $30-$50 - depending on how much we have used their service.

    3. My experience is that the Haven courtyard and the Haven sundeck is quiet, not busy at all. My last Haven experience was in August 2013, on the Epic - and even though all Haven suites were sold out it was never crowded or noisy at the courtyard or the Haven sundeck.

I have never been in the Haven but will be in 11 months Just qonder how is the Gem Haven I will be in 14014 if that makes a diference

  6. The S categories do have access to Cagney's for breakfast and lunch, though. The Havens on the Jewel- and Gem-class ships are much smaller and less elaborate than the Breakaway Haven. They consist of a small pool and one hot tub in a pretty small area, ladies/gents bathroom with shower and steam room, two exercise machines in a small dark room (usually a treadmill and elliptical), and an upper sun deck.

Thanks for the info on the Gem I have a Have suite on deck 14 and was not sure what the pool, hut tub would be since since some ships show a couple of hot tubs and what appears a small but adaqute pool

  7. The regular price was listed as $149 per person for my 9 day cruise before one of his being Platinum which I guess there would be a $20 discount one of the plans
Good question!
For how many days is your cruise? Mine is 7 days, and the price for the UDP that comes up is $119,00 per person. That might be a discounted price, since we are both Platinum, but I am not certain if it comes up automatically with the correct price (but it probably does....).

Does anyone know what the regular price is for the UDP for 7 days?

    Thank you! :)
8. what are the balconies like on deck 9??

I can not remember deep they are but room for 2 people a couple of chairs and a small table. What I like is that if you look where deck 7. 8. 9 and 10 have deck 0 is between 2 decks of rooms no resturants or bars

  9. I am booked on the Gem March, 2015 after its refurb in a Haven Suite and was wondering if any one has idea what changes might take place if any ie a resurtant on deck 14. I have eating at Cagneys but having breakfast, lunch and some times dinner there is a little much. I have the privacy that Cagney's offer and is better than the buffet
