We are also cruising next April on HAL. I would love to take an excursion into Tracy Arm. I was also wondering what will be available.
-
We stayed pre and post-cruise, May16 and May 25,26 at The Blue Horizon. It is located on Rob
son street not very far walk to Canada Place. We took a taxi to embark ship, and it was only about $7. The hotel is very nice, boutique hotel with balconies. If I get a chance to return to Vancouver, I will definitely stay there again. There is a good restaurant there, also!

You will have a wonderful cruise! Do not worry about the testing. It will all work out fine. There will be others with the same concerns, for sure. Have fun!!!

We were also on this amazing cruise! It is a wonderful ship with an amazing crew and entertainment! My only disappointment was that the Tracy Arm excursion was cancelled. I had dreamed of going into Tracy Arm on the catamaran. Hopefully, I will get another chance to see it one day. I still have great memories of the most beautiful place on earth, Glacier Bay.

From Canada to U.S. a negative Covid test is required within 24 hours of flight.
-
You will probably not need negative Covid tests if your flights are within U.S. Therefore, you will probably not need VeriFLY. What airline are y’all on?
-
I was unable to check into American Airlines without using VeriFLY for our return home to U.S. from YVR. That is where AA required us to post our negative Covid tests information and photos of paperwork. I did not need ArriveCan when disembarking cruise or boarding flight home.

Best prices at Shoppers Drug, also. Each test was $50

We returned to Vancouver last Wednesday, May 25. We had flights out of YVR for Friday, May 27. Since you have to have a negative Covid test within 24 hours of your return flight to the United States, we were a bit concerned about that. We called Shoppers Drug close to the Blue Horizon Hotel. They gave us an appointment time for Thursday evening. There was no wait. The results came back quickly and paperwork was given to us for boarding. The more difficult part was uploading information into VeriFLY and getting it to update for check in. I could never get it to work properly. But we had help with it at the airport. Everyone there was very nice and helpful. Vancouver is a wonderful city. I can’t wait to return someday ❤️

We are in the Blue Horizon on Robson Street. It is such a nice room. We have a high floor with a balcony! The room is very spacious and modern. The bathroom has a wonderful large shower. We also have a great view of English Bay. Lovely boutique hotel!

I have looked all over the HAL website to locate where I can prepay tips. I know that I have seen it before. We leave in 4 days. Does it get taken down as your cruise gets closer to embarkation?
Thank you in advance for any on-site on this.

Recommendations, please, for transport at night from the airport terminal to our hotel in Robson street. Thank you!

What is the best option to get to our hotel on Robson street in Vancouver from the airport after 10:00 at night?

Yes, it is a 7-day itinerary.

I think that sounds like a 7 day itinerary? If I am incorrect, let me know.
Happy to add it for you 🙂 -
My husband and I are scheduled to cruise out of Vancouver on the Zuiderdam on May 18, 2022. We are looking forward to visiting the Alaska towns and seeing Glacier Bay and Tracy Arm. A few years ago, we cruised on Veendam out of Seward on a southbound. We loved the size and the atmosphere on the Holland America ship. That's why we chose the Zuiderdam to see Alaska again. I have already booked us for the catamaran in Tracy Arm. We will probably enjoy the spa on one of the sea days, too.
I honestly just can't wait for this trip! Cruising is the best kind of vacation.

Maybe you all have seen these - I found it on an old post from 2005 in the Floataway Lounge section of the board. I was just dying over these! Too funny! :p These are supposedly posted by a ship photographer - so be careful when you see that camera coming by! LOL
I have laughed myself to tears!!! :D

I write a letter to myself on the ships stationary everyday describing my daily events...what I saw, ate, did, who I met etc. I have a stack of unopened letters from 12 cruises. I plan to open them in order when I'm too old to travel and re-live my past adventures.
Do all staterooms have special ships stationary? This is a great idea! thanks!:)
