My August 30 Iceland cruise on Arcadia has drpped significantly. Two friends paying considerably less than me for the same cabin. You take your chances!

The question for me would be does it include cruise cover? A lot of holiday insurance provided through bank accounts doesn't.
You don't need specific cruise cover (missed ports, etc.) as long as your insurance covers you for cruising. As previously advised, try Total Travel Protection. They are single trip only.

Had the same email for Arvia on the Sunday .Except only 2hrs and no extra obc so 11.30am moved to 1.30pm .
We had a 30 minutes delay on Aurora last weekend. Hardly seems worth it.

A newspaper reported yesterday that there are 150 people confined to cabins due to norovirus, another 250 infected and some staff are threatening to leave unless P&O cancel the next cruise and do a proper deep clean.

The situation does sound pretty horrendous and it sounds like lots of the crew are suffering. I hope everyone makes a speedy recovery.
Boarding delayed on Aurora again today for cleaning. Same thing happened last Wednesday. Noro is everwhere at the moment.

I was watching some YouTube videos of ultra fit folk hiking long distances at great speed using these poles.. just wondered what the difference was between them and a walking stick. In an emergency Gandalf could stand at the top of the stairs with his staff.......you shall not pass.
Tried Nordic walking once. A bit like cross country ski-ing. Too strenuous for me.

Always find Martin Sharples very passenger interactive on Arcadia and he always really praises his crew, which I like.

Ah, well in that case 'its a scandal that this is the policy when cabins are £999.60pppn' (the cost of a solo suite on the first Aurora cruise that I clicked on).
I dunno, I suppose the whole concept is difficult for me to empathise with because it would never occur to me to take bottles of spirits onboard or to a hotel or take popcorn from home to the cinema etc.
Please tell me which site offers an Aurora suite for single occupancy at less than £1000! And which cruise. Will snap it up!

Do you happen to which cruise or cruises that is?
I haven't looked at every single cruise but a random selection of half. dozen Aurora and half a dozen Arcadia cruises all come in at £189 or less so perhaps thats a rare anomaly?
I suppose it's difficult to know what to do with pricing and policy as they must feel like the same rules have to apply to all ships whilst at the same time being quite different products.
I was quoting solo prices.

That's a good price Jean.
A select balcony on the cruise we wanted was just shy of £200pppn.
Her Highness wants a balcony as its quite a scenic cruise.
Andy
Not bad. My cruises currently booked on Aurora are £250 (Baltic next week) and £350 (Xmas/New Year). Balcony for solo!

Agreed, but they are quickly coming to the end of their commercial life, then what?
Another adults only ship, Ventura maybe? But hopefully a few years left in them yet. Both being refitted in 2024/25.

Surprisingly, Bank Holiday Monday here was the best day of the year so far. Shorts and T-shirt came out!

Best act I have ever seen is Paul Ruck's Eric Clapton tribute. He is amazing.

We have been very lucky with the weather and have managed to use the pools.
I don't think they are particularly cold for outside pools, you soon get used to it.
Yesterday the lido deck pool was absolutely packed, but went up to the serenity pool and I was the only person in it for a while and a completely different vibe.
The hot tubs have been busy every time I have looked.
Didn't expect to be sipping a pina colada by the pool the day after sliding down a snow covered mountain on my backside😂
Andy
Serenity pool and bar area is lovely.

Sorry, but would have to be adults only for me too. Plus some shade on open decks.

What time do you normally arrive, what is the process like, do you have to wait long
I arrive about 1200. Then sit and wait until boarding commences. Usually not too long a wait. But I only cruise on the smaller ships.

I thought that you were given "arrival time" not "boarding time" - there is a significant difference.
Correct. Thanks for that.

I am Ligurian and usually have 1215 boarding time no matter which ship or terminal. It rarely seems to vary.

Quite like it, but a bit Lego ish.

Behind the scenes/bridge tours
in P&O Cruises ( UK )

When I started cruising, on Celebrity, all these tours around the ship were free, as were a lot of things you pay for now. It is called "adding value"!
