Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Really? Lucky you! I was on Pearl in Aug. 2022 and there was none. I was also on Getaway this past Feb. 2023 and there was no Guinness despite all the Guinness and Murphy's art in O'Sheean's.
  2. Is there any Guinness or similar on the Joy?
  3. I was told by the insurance co. that all prepaid and non refundable costs is how you figure out the coverage you need. My question, what if anything on my list is non refundable... fare = non refundable taxes/fees = ? amenities = non refundable pre paid gratuities - ? Mike
  4. Right, does that mean if I bid and win, it is now a two person room and the third person is out of luck and has no room?
  5. So we have a three person interior room. I received an email to upgrade bid. While going through the motions at the summery, it states double occupancy and was only charging for 2 people. What happens to the third person if the bid is accepted? Will it be a three person capable room? Am I just being paranoid?
  6. Limited cruising dates. Kids have the week off. The travel industry seems to know this. They seem to almost double pricing when school is out.
  7. I was on Escape for my first NCL sailing, which happened to be our honeymoon in 2018. Best thing I ate that trip was the fish taco at WaaHoo's in St George Bermuda! LOL. On Escape we tried... Teppanyaki. Seemed to be about the same or similar to every Hibachi we have gone to, which to say for us, was good. Although Carnival Horizon's Teppanyaki this past Feb. might have been a little better. We love Hibachi normally. Tapas. We liked it. Didn't know what to expect, but we were both pleased I remember. Moderno. Didn't like it. It was just too much for us. Really salty meats and I like salt! La Cusina. Not too good. Not inedible however. Funny, the Italian joint on Pearl this summer was pretty good! Normally on cruises I like to hit the steak restaurant, but have ran out of time or its been completely booked on all the NCLs I have been on. The MDRs? Seeing as this is my and my wife's second marriage, and we made friends with people on this cruise, we were pretty lit most of the time. I don't remember much of the MDR to be honest. LOL.
  8. I don't know, every time I compare like to like out of the same port, NCL with FAS is usually the same as others with out a drink package. My latest booking was between the Joy or RCL out of NY departing Feb 18/19... 8 day NCL Joy. 5 passengers with FAS, one inside one ocean view $5475 7 day RCL. Best I could come up with for for same type cabins and one less day, no FAS and no drink package. $5614.
  9. I was on Pearl in Aug. There was a couple who brough their guitar and would play and sing in "great outdoors" at night. I didn't see anyone give a hard time about it. No one seemed to mind either.
  10. Correct! About the least hoppy beer there is next to Guinness! Well, at least the label posted. The new "reimagined" Newcastle that we get in America now is a tiny hoppy along the lines of a regular Sam Adams. https://www.change.org/p/heineken-usa-bring-classic-newcastle-brown-ale-back/f
  11. Our next NCL is on Joy, so I guess there should be some at the District. It sure would be nice if they had it everywhere like they used to though.
