In 2016 we had a coastal cruise booked, well, my DH couldn't go due to work so my brother went in his place about a month before we sailed and after final payment, I changed it with no problem and no extra charge.
Thank you. I hope that's still the policy.

Thank you

How late can one change suitemates? I know it's simple to do before final payment. We are now just past final payment, but still 2 months out, and my travel partner now thinks she may not be able to go. Does anyone know how late before the cruise we are able to change suitmates without penalty?

Thanks DSLibrarian! We just made our final payment, split across my card and my wife's for a $300 credit.
You're welcome. I don't post often but this offer was too good not to share.
I've used my offer already and will use the one added to DH's card shortly. Trying to decide whether to use his for more OBC for our Feb 2019 cruise (already paid in full) or for partial payment on 2 others farther out. Decisions, decisions.....
-
Just used the offer to buy OBC for next months cruise and received the credit!
Donna - Did you call Princess to add it or did you add it though your Personalizer?
Thank you
-
It was available for my AMEX EveryDay card so I added it there. I didn't check my other cards before I added it so I don't know if it would have been available on any of them.

DETAILS
Get a one-time $150 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend $750+ on cruise line sailings with Carnival, Holland America, Princess, Seabourn, or Cunard by 10/15/2018. See wlcl.com/amex. Terms and exclusions apply.

I have a Hilton Honors AMEX card and had the Carnival OBC applied to it. Thought I had another $100 OBC for upcoming cruise, but we booked our cruise with the BIG BOX STORE and they do not accept AMEX anymore. Only Visa & MasterCard. So I was out of luck.
Next time, book directly with the cruise line and move the booking to the Big Box TA anytime before your final payment. That way, you can take advantage of the AXEX offers and the Big Box OBC too.

I agree, but incredibly stupid things have happened in the past with credit cards.
I did call one of the cards I added this too and the phone reps (I spoke with several) had no idea how to see any AMEX offers attached to the card and pointed out that their card only had points for purchases, never any cash back. They knew of no "spend $xx at merchant yyyy and get $zz back" offers that apply to their card, not only not for Carnival Corp, but not for any merchant.
Neither the web site of the card I did call or the Macy's credit card web site have any mention of any AMEX offers applying to their cards.
Thus I hopefully await someone posting it did actually work when a $500 Princess purchase was made.
Is this what you want to know?? I used the offer on both my USBank AMEX and Macy's AMEX. The $500 charges were pending since Saturday. They finally posted this morning (due to the Monday holiday) and the $100 credits were credited immediately. Additional $200 savings!!

Well, no matter how contentious, many of us appreciate you starting the thread again as a reminder. Without that I would probably have missed the deadline.
Thanks jertom.

Strictly speaking, there is a single AMEX offer, ($100 off $500, expires 5/31) but there are different ways of adding it to your card depending on who the card issuer is.
Yes, strictly speaking, you are correct. I was just trying to simply things because there seemed to be so much confusion over Amex issued cards vs non Amex issued cards. I'm sorry this thread has become so contentious. .
-
The link to use to add this offer for non AMEX issued AMEX cards is https://www.americanexpress.com/us/network/shopping.html. It will not work for regular AMEX issued cards.
-
There is more than one AMEX offer. I'm the OP of this thread.
The one I posted about is here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/network/shopping.html#All and it is for AMEX cards NOT issued by AMEX.
For a good description of the differences see this: https://thepointsguy.com/news/third-party-amex-cards-american-express-connect/

There's an ongoing thread on this over on the Carnival board:
https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2633939
If you read through it, you'll see I'm having a devil of a time trying to get the $100 credit on my Hilton Honors AMEX.
Roz
This offer is only for AMEX cards NOT issued by AMEX. The Hilton cards are AMEX issued cards. I was able to add it to my USBank AMEX and my MACY's AMEX.

I already posted this on the old thread but wanted to make sure folks saw this. I was able to get another $100 credit by using my USBank AMEX card. I also added the offer to my Macy's AMEX card and received the confirmation.
The great AMEX offer ($100 refund on $500 for World Cruise Lines) is still available through 5/31/18. The good news is - even if you've already used it on your AMEX issued cards, you can now use it on AMEX branded cards not issued by AMEX (such as Macy's, USBank, Wells Fargo, etc.) You first must register the card at American Express Connect here: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/n...pping.html#All. The World Cruise Lines offer is one of the available offers.

Thank you for the replies. I'll check with ship services on Monday.

How do we find out if Protestant Clergy will be on board? We'll be on Koningsdam on Palm Sunday - 3/25/18. (DH wasn't too happy with me when I told him.) He is a retired Lutheran Pastor and would be very happy to lead a service that day if one isn't already planned. It might be a little late to check on this but thought I'd ask anyway.

If you buy Onboard Credit that is handled directly with HAL via the same mechanism as booking a shore excursion. I'm still waiting to see if buying OBC has worked for me this time around.
Your TA not accepting American Express suggests that they don't make payments directly with the line and instead take payment from you and then remit to travel providers - which in this case means you probably wouldn't get the credit anyway. The $500 payment has to reflect being made directly with the cruise line.
Not exactly true. Some TAs do not accept AMEX - for example, the well known Big Box based out of Seattle no longer accepts AMEX but they do make the payments directly with the line - obviously with other credit cards - and the charge shows up as made to the cruise line. This is one reason we book directly with the cruise line and wait until closer to final payment before moving the booking to the TA, so we can take advantage of offers like this.

Thanks for posting this! I had been able to book Canaletto, Tamarind & Sel de Mer for a while but not Pinnacle. Now I have them all booked. :)
-
Thank you FPJC03 for posting your question. We also try to book the specialty restaurants when they first become available to reserve our preferred venues, dates and times. Canaletto, Sel de Mer and Tamarind all are available to book now for our March 2018 Koningsdam cruise. I, too, find it odd that Pinnacle Grill is not.

I faxed my information in this morning and had an email confirmation within 5 minutes that the OBC was applied!!

Not sure why you are calling it mimosa breakfast. You can have a mimosa there but I have never heard it called that and we have been staying in suites for 15 years.
On our last three cruises we went to breakfast in Sabitini's and was very disappointed. Usually the staff is fantastic and they work so well together but not lately. We decided to switch to the club class section instead and every meal, the staff was outstanding. We laughed and joked through every meal. There might be a time where we want to do Sabatini's so I hope they don't eliminate breakfast there. They seem to be taking so many of our perks lately - who knows what will be next.
We also preferred the club class breakfast (on CB Aug 2017) over the Sabatini's suite breakfast. The head waiter and waiters were much more welcoming than those in Sabatini's. While we do enjoy mimosas, the atmosphere in club class more than made up for the lack of some morning "happy juice."
