Sitting in the car. A couple hours into the road trip to the port for our cruise. I just realized I don't have my drivers licence!! I DO have my passport but I can't tell from carnivals website on my phone if that can be my ONLY form of id. Do I need to turn around?!
All you'll need is your passport. But many ports will want another form of ID besides your Sail and Sign card when getting back on the ship, so make sure you bring your passport when getting off the ship.

Sounds like a good deal. It has been nice to be able to read through this whole thread and not one person felt the need to give us all a vocabulary lesson on why this is an upsell and not an upgrade.
-
Congratulations!! And that would be the upSELL fairy not the upgrade fairy. Upgrade would be at no charge. Travel safe. :)
It took you a whole 14 minutes to correct the OP's choice of words. Kind of slow. Maybe you'll do better next time and be a little quicker. Everyone knows what the poster means and I'm pretty sure she or he didn't ask for a vocabulary lesson.
-
Upsell. Upgrades are free.
I don't think the OP asked for a vocabulary lesson. Everyone knows what they meant. Why do you people insist on saying upgrades are free? There are many types of upgrades that cost money. When I upgrade my computer, it certainly isn't free.

Do you recall seeing a Future Cruise Desk on the Liberty? We are going on this cruise in 3 weeks and I've heard cruises out of San Juan don't have them.
-
We used a $500 gift card from Verizon to book a cruise while on the Magic last October. The Future Cruise Consultant initially said no because he had no idea how to do it. I had to explain to him how to enter the gift card on the booking engine and then he was able to do it.

Make a color copy of your passports. (Photo/signature page). Bring that with you. Leave the originals in the safe on the ship.
What do you think a color copy of your passport will do for you when in port? It means nothing and won't even help getting a replacement.

I've read so much on these Verizon gift but I'm still not 100% sure I understand.
In a nutshell, if I purchase the rest of the amount I still owe on my Valor cruise.....$1300.... That I can phone my Carnival PVP with information I will receive by email from Verizon after purchasing these and the PVP will have the required information to pay off my cruise balance? It's actually that easy?
I see that these are not available at the moment thru Verizon...but I'll continue to watch CC, hoping for a heads-up when they're available again.
Not exactly. You have to wait until you receive the actual gift card in the mail before you can apply it to your cruise balance.

We have have done all 3 ruins in Belize and in my opinion the Lamanai ruins were the best. Really enjoyed the boat trip up the river and climbing the pyramids. The Howler monkeys were pretty cool and really loud. We made it it back to town with plenty of time to spare.

I would advise to do your homework on a future cruise before boarding. I have found that the cruise consultants on board are not real helpful or even very knowledgeable. Do your research and decide what cruise you want and then go talk to the on board cruise consultant.

Has anyone else noticed that you are unable to purchase e-gift cards with your verizon rewards points.... Sucks because they where a great deal! $100 for $ 90 I am unable to find any information as to why:mad: So I guess I settle for 10 cent per gallon fuel perks for every $50 carnival gift card from my local supermarket! Getting that itch to be on a ship again! :)
You can still purchase the regular $100 and $500 gift cards from Verizon. They seem to only pop on for a few minutes once a week or so before getting sold out, so you have to check often and be lucky. I talked with a representative from the fulfillment company that handles the Verizon rewards and he stated they were have problems with fraud on the e gift cards so they are only using the physical cards for now. They work exactly the same as e gift cards but you have to be home when UPS delivers to sign for them which is a pain sometimes.
-
but I'll probably order them from AARP just because of the horrendous customer service I've encountered with Verizon.
I believe AARP and Verizon use the same Fullfillment Company for their Rewards programs, so the customer service will be the same.
-
I've read this over twice and just want to clarify before I buy the Carnival gift cards from AARP....I know I'm being dense but just making sure I am reading right.
1. I booked through a TA and already paid my deposit. Can I pay the balance of my cruise with the gift cards?
2. If I prepurchase shore excursions from the carnival website, can I pay for those with the cards?
3. Cani use these onboard for money to pay for my cabin bill including gratuities?
Thanks...I know DH will ask me again and again!
I've done all 3 with my Carnival Gift card I purchased from Verizon which is the same AARP.

We plan to book our 2016 cruise while onboard our next cruise in order to get the $100 OBC. If we purchase the e gift cards from Verizon Rewards, can they be used for the deposit???
We did it on our last cruise. We purchased a $500 e Gift Card through Verizon to use for our deposit. The Cruise Consultant on board originally said no and I had to explain to him how to do it and we were able to book it using the Gift Card.

Its really almost impossible to compare prices on watches, especially Citizen. The ones sold in the cruise ship gift shops are manufactured especially for those gift shops are not the same quality you get in the stores on land. Buyer beware.
-
I ordered 8 $100 cards on Friday, June 12 and received them on June 19 via UPS which I had to sign for. I wish they would go back to the e-gift cards. I was able to track my shipment using the UPS website.

Are they doing this on Valor?
Yes

So what exactly is Seuss at Sea?? I was looking at pictures of people's cruises and noticed many Dr Seuss things. I saw some Seuss inspired meals and were wondering was those were. Anyone have any information on what it is?
On the ship that have Seuss at Sea, they will have a special breakfast on one morning for $5 a person that has Dr Seuss decorations, Seuss inspired food and Seuss characters visiting each table where you can take pictures. You can also participate in a parade from one end of the ship to the other with several Seuss characters. At the end of the parade, they do a little audience participation program where the CD reads a Dr Seuss book. On a couple of nights, one of the photography stations had a Seuss background and Seuss costumes you could put on. We had fun with our grandkids and there were a lot of adults without kids participating.

I am thinking of upgrading from regular balcony on the Verandah deck to an aft balcony on the Upper deck on the Carnival Liberty for a total cost of $70. The cabin is right below the Victoria Aft Lounge on the Promenade deck. I think that is where they do the Comedy Club and karaoke. I was wondering how noisy it will be. We have always had cabins below us and above us. Anyone have experience with this type of cabin?
-
Its not even close. Grand Turks is miles ahead of the other 2.
-
If you are going to book a cruise on board, do your research before you go. Know what ship, what date and what cabin beforehand. I have booked cruises on board 3 times and I have found the Cruise Consultant on board less than helpful. They are fine if you know exactly what you want, but if you are undecided and have questions, you may be in trouble.
Cruising with scuba divers. Best Islands for diving?

I have dove at all 4. Roatan is my favorite by far, followed by Cozumel. Costa Maya would be my 3rd choice and Belize would be dead last. I know a lot people talk about how great the diving is in Belize, but you really can't get to the good dive sites on a cruise excursion. I have dove twice in Belize while on a cruise and both dives were not that great.
