I again asked princess in the chat this morning...they had my booking info so they went off of that and this is what they said:
"As advise also of our support team. We advise that all cruise that had an itinerary that port in Canada will need to follow the Canada time frame. So for the Antigen test. It needs to be taken within 2 days prior sailing."
so it looks like to be safe, i'll do the 2 day antigen testing tomorrow, instead of today.
Thank you!

I’ve asked several times with the princess reps and they all said 3 days for rapid and pcr if you’re up to date. I specifically said we are leaving from Seattle but stopping in Victoria and they all said it all depends on where you leave originally. In this case, Seattle. I’m doing my rapid test tomorrow (wed) for sat sailing from seattle.
when you said you heard from people being denied, do you have specifics? Like what was their sailing itinerary and was it for rapid and they were up to date (not just vax) and through princess only? Other cruise lines have different requirements too
If I remember correctly there were a few reports on a YouTube cruise channel. The ship was from San Francisco (I think) going up to Canada. Like I say, if it was a widespread issue I think there would be more news about it happening. But even the rumor of it makes me concerned.

3 days if you are vaccinated and departing in Seattle.
Effective April 1, 2022, pre-entry COVID-19 tests are no longer required for Fully Vaccinated travelers entering Canada by air, land (rail), or water (marine vessel). This means when a cruise ship enters one of Canada's ports, no COVID testing is required for fully vaccinated travelers (very limited exemptions). In this case entering Victoria, BC.
For pre-embarkation COVID-19 testing, since this cruise embarks/originates in the US (Seattle), you must use US CDC and cruise line requirements for negative COVID-19 testing prior to boarding.
(Canada's pre-embarkation testing requirements have no bearing here as you are embarking/originating your cruise in the US not Canada).
our testing requirements for cruises that embarks/originates in the US are in the Princess FAQs,
Yes, I’ve read the same info and I want to trust it. But there have been reports of people being denied.
I think if it was really an issue we would have heard a lot more cases of this happening. But it makes me worry. I can’t reschedule my test to one that falls within the 72 hours. I may just do the online proctor test to ease my mind.

This is what I'm so worried about. I called princess and they assured 3 days for my specific cruise. But you know how dependable that is!
The language there distinguishes embarking than for just stopping by. But I the heard the same rumor.

Just noticed on my Medallion App
“Upload proof of your Negative PCR / Antigen Test taken within 48 hours of your journey”. More confusion from Princess , on their website it says within 2 days , I am taking my Antigen test at 9am on 05/26 for cruising on 05/28, going by this I am outside the testing window. Can anybody here confirm which is correct , within 2 days or within 48 hours ? Thanks 🙏I just saw this as well. Hopefully we get some clarification soon. My test is scheduled 3 days out.

Thank you for this info! Any chance you have the patter from yesterday? I am trying to make my mdr reservation and don't want to miss out on the opening day events. I'm sailing next week...

I sail on the 22nd and will check it out if no one does before that.
Any chance of daily patters as well? I haven’t seen any posted for this itinerary yet.

Dine My Way. Passenger Services Desk - or Pursor's Desk, or Guest Services.
HW = a Head Waiter. DRO = Director Restaurant Operations (formerly the MD).
Thank you!

The other note is that you won't see it (nor the Winemaker's Dinner) in DMW or on your TV to book. You need to put a request in at the PSD, Dine Line, or with a Head Waiter or the DRO himself.
Can you explain the acronyms? Really want to get in the chefs table.

Hope you don’t mind if I ask a question on your thread…
I have the enclave pass. I’ve read posters complaining that the people in there are using it wrong. What is the “right way” to use the enclave? I would like to try out everything. I know there are different types of steam rooms and would switch it up…

I’ve been worried about my Alaska air flights.
found this quote explaining the situation. Gives some extra time. Thankfully my flights would be ok if this is true.
Before a strike could take place, the National Mediation Board would have to release the two sides from mediation. Then, after a 30-day cooling-off period, both parties could exercise self-help—including a strike by the union or a lockout by the company,” the ALPA news release said.

I'm starting to wonder... that tour may still be a go. It takes a bus up into the Yukon, does the stuff up there and then takes the train back down. If you've already taken the bus into Canada and just catch the train to go back maybe that is okay??? It seems that the issue is getting off of the train in Canada, not on. Or am I off base?
I thought this might be the case also. But I felt better just choosing another excursion. I was felling iffy about the 8 hours to begin with.

That was the one I was booked on. I canceled because the other choices were limited. Would rather have something for sure than nothing later. I didn't want to risk it.

If it does not need a passport, you should be fine. The roundtrip summit trips are still scheduled.
Thank you very much!

I’m having trouble figuring which train rides are still ok. If the ride does not need a passport, is it ok or will it be canceled?
I already canceled my train/Yukon excursion. I would like to pick another excursion that is still available and before prices increase even more.
pretty disappointed Princess had not contacted me with options…

There is no customs - i.e., CBP officers looking at your luggage. The officers are only looking at your passport or birth certificate as you leave the terminal building.
If you made high $ purchases on the ship, you are escorted off and brought to the CBP office.
Thank you! Good info to have.

How does Port valet work with customs?

Thanks everyone. Chef’s Table is my first priority. I just hope they have one.

We ran around like banshies trying to find out where to register. My friend called the "dining" line while I stood in the line at Guest Services. I could see her and she me.....she got thru before I reached the front of the line (and the line was small). We did not pass go, stop to eat, drop off our luggage, browse around the ship.....this was our first priority when we boarded and we boarded in priority boarding.
Where did she call from? Are there courtesy phones and where?

I know there is no published answer, but I would love to hear some opinions…
on the white pass Yukon excursion, most likely people would have to be tested the day before right?
But what about the white pass excursion that does not get off the train? Would those need testing too?
I saw some excursions are selling out but I would like to avoid additional testing.
and thoughts appreciated!

I’ve talked to multiple representatives about this.
when you book (for discovery) an asterisk pops up that the thermal suite is extra $.
many of the reps didn’t have a clear answer. They did say to take a picture of the description and the thermal suite should be included and honored with the picture. Another said if it wasn’t included when I got onboard that I could receive a refund.
I finally got an agent to state that is was included in print so I feel covered.
the whole thing is ridiculous.
Anyone book several cruises with that $1 deposit?

Thanks for checking again. Not available to me. I logged in and not the same price or obc. I've been circling this cruise for a while now. Would definitely book at that price.
