It appears that you don't see signatures by default.  You can change that in your profile settings.

Yes, that was it.  I would never have found that in a million years so thanks for the steer.

Yes, usually platinum get proority boarding, after suites and people needing assistance. It doesn’t always work like that though, so set your expectations.

Just book your meals as normal and take your platinum voucher (which will be in your room) along when you dine.

The only thing to watch out for is that as you will likely be booking more meals than you have dining credits for you need to book any fixed price ones (Modernonor Teppanyaki) first to avoid being charged. The link in my signature explains this. It is a bit out of date but that bit is still correct.

Thanks Keith. I don’t see a signature at all…unless I’m being really dense which is always a possibility !!

  3. I've just hit the platinum level and have a question about boarding.  Previously I paid for Priority Boarding and the order was 1. people who needed extra assistance, 2. higher latitude levels, 3. priority boarding, 4. group 1 etc.  Does Platinum get me into the second group or is it just even higher levels ?  Also, if I am sharing a cabin with someone who isn't platinum, can they board with me or do I have to abandon them in the waiting area ?

Also, with the two extra speciality dining options, do I just make a reservation and then say that I want to use my Platinum reward ?

    Thanks for any guidance.

  4. I think this is great but it is a great shame that they don't include your brothers and sisters who stood next to you on operations.  I was a Captain in both the British and Canadian infantry and can't help but feel a bit left out by all of this.

A bit more about the room:

    No power outlet near bed

No Power outlet in the bathroom.

So if you have a electric shaver  without battery you have to do it inside the room....from my point of view: design fault.

Smokers be aware: only one tiny place outside: H2O bar, about 20 seats.half of them covered from rain.

Second Option is inside at the casino, but during gambling only.

Having no power outlet by the beds is such a poor design.  I have a CPAP machine as do many other people by the questions about distilled water.  I bring a 25' extension cord that I run around the room otherwise I'd be plugging and unplugging a shorter extension every night and risking tripping on it in the middle of the night.

In October we sailed the Breakaway.  In Taste MDR I ordered a bottle of Moët at Breakfast and some OJ. I made my own mimosa and took the rest of the bottle—which was mostly full, back to our cabin.  Two tips.  Ask them to save the wire cage so you can transport your bottle back to your cabin, and…pack a champagne stopper so you can seal you bottle in the cabin.  We did this twice!  Loved having a bottle in the mini fridge.

Why do you need the wire cage if you have a stopper ?

  7. The regular balconies are small.  You get two chairs and a small side table.  The chairs have to face almost lengthways so you can't face them to the sea and fit your legs.  But they are still good places to sit.  I was in 12200 for one cruise and then, for the next cruise went for a large balcony room which did indeed have a larger balcony with the 2 chairs but this time with a table that you could eat at as well as 2 loungers.  It was on deck 9 but does jut out so the people above can see you if you stand at the rail and you can see down onto the balconies on deck 8 (which are even larger).  But if you sit at the back of the deck then you can't be seen.  These cabins are at the front of the ship.

  8. Can anyone who has does a back to back recently help me with a few questions:

    a. do you need to covid test between cruises.  If so, I assume it is done on board.  Is there a cost ?

    b. Do you need to disembark and then re-check in to get a new cabin card or, if you are staying in the same cabin, do you get a card for both cruises at the start of the first one.

    c. If the first cruise bumps you up a latitudes category does that reflect in time for the second cruise ?

  9. I'm on the Getaway right now on the transatlantic. We're sailing with about 760 passengers out of a category sounds 4,000. I understand they have a full compliment of staff and they are taking the opportunity to run some extra training for them.

The next cruise is supposed to be around 3,800 passengers and then it settles a little bit.

I have found the crew to be fully staffed and excellent.

    Welcome to the club!
It’s like putting a deposit down on a car and signing a contract, then when you go to the dealership the next week they say “So sorry, but someone came in after you left and offered a lot more for the same car, so we sold it to them. But we do have a lot of OTHER nice cars on the lot!”

Would  you roll over if that happened??

I get the point but it is little bit different.  It's more akin to you buying that car and then the dealership sells EVERY car they have to someone who says 'sell me them all or I'm not interested'.  Potentially unethical but one can see the business attraction.
