The Jewel of the Seas is missing a cruise on 1/28/2018. We've done back to back for a number of years and usually cruise starting that week. Does anybody have any info? A charter? An oversight maybe?

I just called and they told me the $250 deposit is fine (even though on my cruises I have a message to make a $500 deposit) and I don't need to pay an additional deposit. Hopefully the agent I spoke with is competent since I left the deposit as is.

The Jewel already has the freestyle coke machines in the back of the Windjammer on the left side.

It disappeared while I was calling my travel agent to get a price adjustment. Oh well - it had to have been a mistake. Congratulations to those who were able to book.

Thank you for the link with updates on the baby. We too were on the cruise and have thought about the young family and little ones often. We have been on cruises where women miscarried so to be born so early and at sea is truly a miracle. We wish them the best.

Thanks for the update. See you guys onboard on Sunday!!

I was also very excited to see this change up. We'll definitely be on one of these cruises!

We stayed at the La Concha in January and loved it. The resort fee is based on the price you pay for the hotel. Hotwire also estimated ours to be $10 but it came to more than that - don't remember exactly but about $16 per person/per night.

On our cruise they opened Chops after muster. It seems like the first reservation was 8:30PM.

We cruised on the Allure August 30, 2014 and also had a sea pass that didn't work. It would not "ding" when boarding. They replaced it within ten minutes so I don't think we had the magnitude of sea pass errors that your cruise did. Also when we got to our cabin the new sea pass wouldn't work in the door - which called for a trip down to customer service. The card was replaced and worked for the remainder of the cruise.
Definitely a bad way to start a cruise. I'm not sure what their problem is but it's a shame they haven't resolved the issues.

We also had escargot only one night. The other nights the scallops were offered.
We were able to use our drink vouchers at any of the bars. The information provided told you exactly where you could use them and what liquors, etc were included.

I checked through Hilton and the Doubletree at Galleria (on the waterway but not on the beach) had a day rate when we were there in September. Availability would probably depend on the time of year and occupancy.

Jane - As always, I love your review. Can't wait to hear the rest!! The Marriott in St. Kitts looks lovely, we'll have to check it out in February. Janet

I have never been to Blue Lagoon but we were at the Melia last week for four nights and highly recommend it for a day pass. Taxis are about $15 each way but we rode the jitney everywhere we went for $1.50.
Be prepared, a beer is $7 plus 15% gratuity, a burger and fries is $19 plus 15%.
The beach is beautiful, gorgeous water and white sand.

Can anyone tell me what the Wyndham offers ?
We were in Nassau this week staying at the Melia. The Wyndham guests had use of the Melia property because their pools were closed. I'm not sure what is going on at the Wyndham but it may have something to do with the Baha Mar construction project which is huge and right next door to the Wyndham.
The construction did not impact us while at the Melia.

The Melia has stand up paddle boards, kayaks, blue floats and snorkel. Not included would be jet skies and parasailing.

We had purchased our case of water in the shop in the terminal in years past but in February 2014 they did not have the cases. You could purchase single large bottles of water (you would have to pour the water into a glass).
There were a few cases sitting there and we picked one up and took it to the register but they would not sell it to us. They were opening those and using the singles outside for workers.

Thank you for a wonderful live review.

Congratulations! Have a great cruise.

That is more than the price of our balcony cabin on the Allure August 31 - September 7. It is also considered a holiday cruise, Labor Day is September 1 this year.

I posted this under the thread "Dolphin Dive Adventures." We toured with them on February 6.
We had a great day with Dolphin Dive Adventures and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. We prebooked through the website but you can find them in the cruise ship terminal. We left after 10:30 and were back by 3:30. They were very aware of the time and have the schedule perfected. The boats are clean and functioning but not overly impressive. The guys were greats hosts and we were happy with the tour. The cost was $52 and a local lunch could be ordered for $15. We split a lunch and gave the guys another $5 to pick up a couple of Pitons beers for us to have with the meal. Drinks were free flowing and included after the snorkel stop at Anse Chastanet. They took pictures of us at the Pitons - beautiful, described the coastline as we saw it, and stopped at Marigot Bay (Dolittles Place). They had two boats out the day we were there. This is the second (smaller) boat, ours was a little bit larger.
