As per title i am in the UK and on Sky shortly with old Premier package. I would like to upgrade to new Premier but i cannot seem to do it.
Hi...we sail soon from the UK....what are the benefits of the new Premier over the "old" one?
And unlimited special dining......does the upgrade guarantee you can book a table?
I have read about unlimited drinks but I don't think that will make us upgrade.
Is the cost an extra £10 per day? -

so, P has better cheese's in the buffet that you can get at most times then, correct? - what are those? and what kind of wine should I be looking at to pair with?
if I recall in the buffet there were whole rounds of Stilton plus numerous other offerings.
You choose your wine to your palate...I cannot offer advice 🙂- 1

@gah_cruise without actually seeing a dessert menu on The Sky here is just one example. The cheese offerings change in the main dining room nightly as you’re probably well aware. One example in the main dining room is Brie and Gouda cheese with dried apricots & port wine reduction.
Perhaps when you order your dinner, you can ask for a dessert menu and if you don’t see a particular cheese that you like maybe at that time they could get exactly what kind of cheese that you desire as long as you place your order well before the dessert comes for the rest of the table??
I think just ask and you’ll never know otherwise
yup ....the only choice last year was Brie and Gouda.......hardly inspirational.

is that cheese an app, entree, or dessert?
I was particularly interested in the dessert option.....served with crackers

How do you find the quality and choice of the cheese option in the MDR?
We sailed on Sky last year and frankly, the cheese offering in the MDR was very poor...far far better was available in the buffet.
We are sailing again on Sky soon (ex Southampton) and wondered what anyone else thought of what is currently being offered onboard

On the Grand over the last few weeks we actually canceled one night at Crown Grill because the food and service in Reserve Dining were so good. Probably better than anything I have experienced since restart
I understand the service may be better, but why is the food so much better? Does Reserve have its own chefs?

Sailing Western Med this year on Sky in Sept.
Am interested to know what time the outside bars close at night?
Hoping for good weather so that we can have a few glasses outside and avoid the "grab a seat" of previous cruises in less warmer climes. -

Sad to report that it already stank of stale smoke
That is a real shame......is the stale smoke apparent outside of the casino?

Does anyone know of any vlogs and reviews that are posted of the inaugural cruise of the Sun Princess?
I can only find short snippets so far.- 1

The rule of thumb for Princess restaurants since the recent changes is: anywhere you're served while seated, there's a charge; if you have to go and get your food yourself from a counter or buffet, it's included. (Gelato is the exception, but can attest that it's well worth the couple of bucks.)
Huh?
All MDRs are included and you are seated and served.- 3

We are the same it has been P&O for the majority of our cruises, but we now find Princess a better experience.
I would be interested to know why you consider Princess a better experience.
We were thinking of Iona for next year .....but keep reading mixed reviews. -

Did you mention this problem to a head waiter in the dining room? He may have been able to arrange something better for the next night. It's usually a lot more productive to point out problems like this while you're still on the ship and to give them an opportunity to fix them.
no, i didn't....if I recall it was in two different dining rooms and at different times with different waiters.
If I was dining same time same table/staff each night, then of course I would have mentioned it.... but we don't wish to tie ourselves down to that type of dining. -

Not a fan of 2+ hours in the mdr seating at a 2 top, but treated like a 10 top with 4 other 2 tops nearby
Had this on Sky in June in Norway.....tables only cleared after all 5 of the 2 tops had finished.....likewise, all tables served the next course at the same time.
Can appreciate it may be efficient for the staff....poor for the customers.
Very slow service....risotto was cool and stodgy and the creme brule was fridge-cold.
had this type of service twice in the first 3 days of a 14-day cruise......gave MDR a miss after that -
Just wondering if there has been an increase in queues since Princess did away with arrival times recently.?
I know that your arrival group time was not asked for at Southampton, but am curious to know if regular cruisers have noticed any difference...eg for passengers on the terminal or cars waiting for CPS since the change. -

You can get a better answer from the Shore Excursions desk on the ship
Good luck...Sky Shore excursions staff in June were unfriendly and unhelpful.

So we picked up the rental car today and have sucessfully maneuvered our way to Cheltenham. I've felt very warn out today so we are taking it easy. Hopefully, more energy tomorrow to do more photos and post many of them.
The plan tomorrow is Cleeve Hill, Lichfield, Gretna, Scotland, Sycamore Gap and overnight in Hexham. All points of particular interest to me, which I'll explain with pictures !
thats a long drive.....good luck

Just as with those other examples the recent changes deal with items that are not core to the booking They are optional incidentals that one may chose to use or not use at the prices.
so...at the moment I have a cruise booked for Sep 2034... I have a Plus package which provides 15 alco drinks per 24-hour period....if in 11 mths' time, after I have paid in full, Princess changes the Plus package to 10 alco drinks per 24 hrs...do you think I have the right to be aggrieved....over to you @ldtr

Sailing to the Western Med for 14 days on Sunday .....just wondering what the evening temps on deck are likely to be from say 7pm, to 10pm....would you suggest taking a sweater or hoodie?
