  1. In 2023, on one voyage of ours, ShoreEx staff would do this and on another they would not.  The "would not" scenario was the Head of ShorEx onboard.  I do hope that it has now become routine on all ships, but I did experience an exception.  Note that when it was permitted, it did not immediately go back to the pre-charged card, but rather onto the shipboard account as a refundable credit, which would go back to the card on file for the shipboard account (which can be a different card), assuming you don't spend it on something else!

My overall impressions were it was good, not great.

Sounds like my impressions of his land-based restaurants. Good, not great.  It's a good price compared with what you will spend on land.  Any limits on what you can order (multiple starters, multiple mains to share, etc.)?

I’ve never seen this but congratulations on your score 🙂

I’d far rather have Sel de Mer than PG any day of the week.  Enjoy 🙂

There was also a random $25 per person Group Amenity from HAL (not the travel agent) that also showed up upon booking.  I am thinking it was perhaps some culinary cruise group booking that I somehow qualified for.  Not that I am some foodie, but I am excited to try it.  I certainly hope that it is better than our past couple experiences in PG!

  4. On an upcoming cruise, we have a complimentary/promo dining credit on our booking (not HIA) that allowed us to redeem/book a dinner at Rudi’s through Navigator app free of charge (full promotional savings for dinner for 2). Anyone ever see this?

I researched online and found some “culinary” voyages on HAL offered through travel agents that have had this as a benefit in the past, but my online travel agency knows nothing about it. I’ll print and carry aboard the confirm showing the full promotional credit when I booked it at $0 to us, but I’m just curious if others have seen and used this. Again, this is NOT via Have It All benefit. Perhaps it was a technology bug, but it clearly shows in our Itinerary as reserved and the promotional savings on the emailed confirm shows fully comped.

Not yet!  I keep checking!  I, too, got approval right away and am waiting.  I want to transfer my reservation to ta but wanted this on the reservation before I do so.   I will wait a couple more weeks...but I don’t know who I would even call about this.

I called Customer Relations (after several fruitless conversations with general inquiry staff, who had no idea what the promotion was even).

my wife wasn't asked for any of that on 11/4 - just a "Success ! You've been verified" which I printed out

has anyone actually got the credit posted to their account yet ?

I was verified on 11/1 and it was attached to my booking on 11/18 (actually attached on 11/4 as Military Benefit, then removed), but then that cruise was cancelled (14 days from LA in July 2021) so I suppose I will need to decide whether to rebook something else before the expiration 12/7/20.

Look, we all hear you but you do know, I hope, that U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC as well as Florida Dept. of Health reps are part of the Broward Incident Command and they signed off on the procedure we are now witnessing take place. If they would have had a problem with it, Zaandam and Rotterdam would still be floating in international waters going in slow circles

Yes sir. My remarks were in response to others’ concerns that SOME would fly commercial, not charter. I’m up on what’s happening and support it 1000%.

They are not supposed to be going into the open world, everyone of them is supposed to go home into a 14 day self quarantine in place as a condition of being allowed to dock.  The Mayor of Fort Lauderdale explained this today during a news conference and will be enforced in Florida but who knows in other states.  That is my concern.

Yes, but you were expressing concern about those not on charters and flying regular commercial.

The haters who all have their ports closed to the World are out in full force!

They are crying out from the heart. I get it. I think everyone may just need to take a deep breath and a break and let the politicians do what they do and keep faith that Fauci and Birx will whisper in the President’s ear.  His words yesterday point to a hope for a humane outcome.

I did not hear that personally but, then again, I joined the broadcast in the middle of it. The "bus the Canadians home" is attributed to having been made by Admiral Burke. It certainly would be a long bus ride! I wish there was a way to listen to the broadcast again

...I would prefer ; Alpine or Green Flash...

Sure!  Was gonna include Alpine, but thought it might be too niche. Duet is a personal draft favorite, which they carry at our local PF Chang’s!

  12. You only made a “mistake” if it was more advantageous to you to have the potential for the up sell/upgrade than it was to have the enhanced OBC in this scenario of sold out 14 day, but with openings on the 7 day. Some posters don’t understand your (historically successful) strategy, but don’t explain since you’ll just create competition for yourself! 😎

  13. Verified, right, I read too quickly. But I do think you are correct that it might be accepted as the accompanying expired ID might both verify and validate. In any case, I do wish the (potential) kind-hearted cruiser all the best fortune in sorting out this mess! No good deed...

  14. Although one still has to wonder, it says “not a VALIDATED identification.”  Would it be validated ID if accompanying the expired ID?  Unclear. For example this may be verbiage spit out for lost replacement DL as well. Still, trying for the expedited passport is probably the best bet.

Well there you have it. Chase down the other suggestions. Expedited passport seems the best bet. Premium price for sure, but to salvage the trip, cost well spent.
