On my recent Transatlantic cruise we had Tuna from the Azores in the dining room. My guess is that is really fresh fish bought at the local port.

I have a question about the Veal Kroketten that is served on HAL in the dining room and the Dutch Cafe.
When we have Veal Croquettes at home, the texture of the veal was a relatively course ground and was similar to a typical meat loaf. On the Hal ships - in particular, the Konigsdam, the veal tasted like it had been pureed like baby food? Is that typical of what you would find in the Netherlands?
I like to see a good variety of ethnic foods on all of the cruises.
I've tasted the Kroket on the Rotterdam last week and was not impressed. My guess is that these Kroketten have a low percentage of Veal. I think the use of beef will give meatier texture. I prefer a Beef Kroket over a Veal Kroket.

Uber is not the only app for taxi rides, FreeNow and Bolt are some others you can use. Those might give you also a chance for a ride.

Depending on your starting time, I would do the shopping streets, ea Lijnbaan, first, those are more less deserted at night. End at Markthal for a bite and maybe getting some snacks.

Take a Canal cruise, or visit the Big Museums around Museum Square. The Rijksmuseum for the Nightwatch or The Van Gogh Museum. Next to the Gogh is the City Museum for modern art. Anne Frank house is also an option. All the musea are easily reached by public transport. Reservations for the Musea are recommended especially the Anne Frank house.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll save the coupon for a later date. For the next voyage I am covered by a beverage package.

Like the area and the hotel, but rates aren't even up yet. Looking for something in the same general area, I came across the WestCord City Centre. It seems to get very good reviews and ratings of 8.0 or higher on various hotel sites. And, right now, I was able to book three nights on a fully cancelable rate, with breakfast included...and including taxes, for about $200 US per night (depending, of course, on fluctuations in the exchange rates now to next year). But I know very little about this hotel.
I am familiar with the location, not the hotel. Location wise it is perfect. Close to Public Transport, Jordaan district and the Museum district is just a couple of stops away. I have been in another Westcord hotel, they had a clean pleasant vibe.

Transportation from Schipol to Rotterdam
in British Isles/Western Europe

Take any IC train to Rotterdam Centraal a lot of them do not have steps to enter. However the Intercity Direct has two steps if I am not mistaken.
Enter the train with a Bike or Wheelchair symbol usually there is a four seater nearby to sit in comfort and to keep an eye on your bags.
