I ended up calling Viking customer service as we have a pre-cruise extension. They indicated that the PCR test had to be within 72 hours of your departure flight for your “first Viking event”. So 72 hours before we fly out for the pre-cruise extension works.

We are sailing on the Viking Sea Empires of the Mediterranean (Venice - Athens) June 6 - 15th. We are doing a pre-cruise extension in Venice so are flying from the US on June 3rd. Viking’s requirement is that we have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to boarding the first international flight. Does the 72 hour requirement still apply if we are doing a pre-cruise extension? Or does it need to be sooner since we are doing the extension?
