  1. Greetings,

We are going to Falmouth Jamaica in March 2024 on Royal Caribbean.  We are starting to look at excursions, and was wondering if anyone has done the Inner Tubing and Dunn's River Falls before?  Looking for overall experiences, and more specifically the menu at lunch.  The menu listed in the description is Jerk Chicken and Coconut Pumpkin rice, 1 of which my DW can't eat due to allergies, and the other because she can't handle spicy things.  Any input would be appreciated!

    Thanks!

I have used them several times, it is the only way to go, IMO.

The wait time is very short (minutes ?) - they bring all the departing cars over to the pickup area on the day your ship comes back.

When you go to the desk, the runner has a very short way to go to bring it back to you.

Thank you!   That was my wife's only concern, was the wait time after the cruise.  Not that we are in a hurry to get back to reality but didn't want to spend the extra money if it was a long wait!

  3. Well, I am pretty much priced out.   I can not afford those kinds of prices, especially when you include a cross country flight, hotels, etc. etc.   This makes me sad, but I will get there soon enough!

Great!! I see the info on the Travel Agent page someone discussed earlier in the thread. Already scanning. Very high prices compared to holland america!

That is new.   I checked very early this morning and it wasn't there.....

    End of the year???????????? Really????????????

This really is not a bad answer.   It's a very generic answer, but not horrible considering the end of the year is only 5 1/2 weeks away.

Just to update the folks that are interested. I spoke with a Princess person yesterday on this topic. They said they are finalizing things now and should be out by the end of the year.

Bubba, I feel bad for you since you are wanting to surprise your wife with a cruise to Alaska for Christmas.

I dont see anything listed out on their sorta-not-secret site where they normally pre-post the upcoming sailings with the spreadsheets and promo flyers...there is nothing for Alaska 2021..

Do you have a link to this sorta-not-secret site?   I was looking for something like this for princess but was unsuccessful....

  7. Well guys, as long as our Intel was correct, which is more of an educated guess, we should hopefully be seeing some 2021 Alaska sailings this week!   Here's to hoping, and keeping our fingers crossed!

The other perk that goes along with the bonus points on RCI is reciprocal status with Celebrity, so my D status on one = Elite on the other. I would love to see reciprocal status among Carnival, Princess and Holland America!

I recently found out that MSC cruises matches a host of other cruise lines status.......even though there is no affiliation.   Kind of interesting.

A perfectly legitimate question, but unfortunately one that will bring on commentary. Some other lines do give bonus points  for booking suites; as noted, Carnival does not. There are folks who would like to see that happen, others who will defend to the death the way things are! As a newbie, you had no way of knowing that; sorry about the response you got. Me, I'd love to see the bonus points; meanwhile I happily travel on multiple lines and earn my perks where I can!

Yes....Royal offers double points for Junior Suites and higher I believe....that is the only one I know about.

  10. I have been on one Carnival cruise, and do not know too much about the VIFP program.   I know you earn one point per night sailing.   Is there anyway to earn 2 points per night?   For example if you stay in a suite, or a certain category cabin?   Thanks in advance!

We are also waiting on Alaska 2021 cruise prices from Princess. We have sailed with Princess and RCCL before and would be happy for either. But seeing the prices of RCCL Alaska  we now really want to see Princess prices also.

Hope we don't have to wait too long!

    Tania

I am in the same boat, except we have never sailed with Princess before.   I keep seeing people say the 20th, so hopefully just another week or so.

  12. When Princess releases their 2021 Alaska sailings, will they make some kind of announcement, or will they just appear on the website?   If there is an announcement, where/how do they usually make it?

    Thanks,

New to Princess, but excited at the possibility to try them!

The Vacation Planner told me they would go on sale in mid Nov/early December. I know they went on sale mid November last year. 🙂

I hope this to be true also.   Royal released their 2021 Alaska sailings today, and they are pretty hefty in price.   I'm hoping Princess is a little more affordable for us!

what was leaked??? Can you provide a link please?

Royal Caribbean already got rid of those sailings. They were up for quite some time, but you were not able to book those sailing dates, and then they were promptly removed entirely from the site.

Exactly what jbethel11 said.   One itinerary each for these 3 ships showed up, unable to book, but had 2021 dates.   So it has been confirmed by these leaks as to which ships will be in Alaska in the 2021 season.

Well we already know Ovation will be in Alaska due to Royal leaking one sailing in mid-July 2021.

Ovation to do r/t from Seattle based on the July leaked itinerary, Serenade to do r/t from Vancouver based on the August leaked itinerary, and Radiance to do the one-ways between Vancouver and Alaska based on the June leaked Itinerary.

I know, right! The pricing for that cruise is insane! However, I compared the pricing to the July 31st sailing on Ovation and the was a significant difference between the two.

According to RCCL's site, July 31, 2020 is $1284.   That's not a significant different, just over $100 dollars a person.   Are you using a different site to compare prices?
