  1. With NCL's flight offer you can't choose to fly in a day or two before the cruise, right? It's only the same day of the cruise? I prefer to pick the flight that suits our schedule and it doesn't seem like you save that much going through NCL. I prefer Princess as you can book through them but you can pick your day, airline, flight, and seats.

  2. I've only been on one Celebrity, the Reflection. I was disappointed with the activities, the crew seemed like they didn't want to have them. Many activities would be scheduled for an hour and it would be over in 20 or 30 minutes, they only allowed 10 singers for Karaoke, is this normal?

  3. I posted last year Carnival assembled a team of people to revamp the VIFP program and received a lot of laughs and sarcastic responses. I met one of the team members at the diamond party on a cruise. One of the ideas the team was discussing was adding a black diamond level above the current diamond level. At this point, it was still in the early stages of discussion and nothing was concrete. I was concerned because Carnival only knows how to subtract, not add; and here they are already subtracting.

  4. I just sailed on the Enchanted in May with the premier package and had no problem booking specialty dining, but the system was trying to charge me for shipping our medallions. I thought a quick call to Princess would take care of it, but I was wrong. The operator told me I had to pay for shipping and wouldn't put a supervisor on the phone, so I picked up the medallion in the port instead and they told me the customer service is outsourced to India. The ship refunded the shipping portion of my premium package in obc, $7 each person; it was no big deal.

  5. I guess your saying the cruise is within 30 days so MSC will not refund anything? I don't think that's your fault of when you have to cancel. If you're not going on the cruise and you booked the drink package separately, they should refund it. Also, Carnival always refunds taxes and fees for cancelations; but, my father also canceled once and MSC wouldn't refund his taxes and fees either. If you're getting nothing back then I wouldn't cancel, that way they won't rebook the room and make even more money.

We heard boarding was delayed due to crew members smuggling several Mexicans into the US on the ship. If that is the case I have no desire to ever board one of their ships. That is so dangerous and if they could smuggle them on what else is going on that is illegal?

They walk into the US all the time. But, I don't know if I can believe it's happening on MSC.

  7. I'd save your money and not pay for the steakhouse, it's way overhyped and overpriced; but, that is just an opinion which others I'm sure feel differently. I've walked out of a few of them without finishing my meal due to horrible service and overcooked steaks; they're not 5 star restaurants. Chibang! was far better as is Cucina but not as good as Chibang! I had a captain's dish (they called it something like that) that was very good at Cucina.

  8. Be careful complaining on here about MSC. I haven't been on the Seashore, but I liked the Seascape and Seaside which I imagine is very similar. Customer service isn't the best, nor drink service or drink variety, and yes bathrooms are small especially the shower; but, the ships are nice, I always find pretty good food to eat, and MSC is relatively cheaper; although the rates have been increasing which is why I've booked other lines such as Princess which includes gratuities. But, I'll be back on MSC once in a while to keep my diamond status; I like to vary my cruise lines.

  9. It seems my earlier post disappeared, not really sure why. Someone claimed the casino is operated by a third party, I don't know if that's true or not; but, I know MSC selects which slot machines are used and I don't know why they would use such an outdated method using vouchers that seem antiquated and costly with them needing to purchase voucher paper and needing to refill them; I guess I read between the lines.

Land casinos who do not give back change, some of them set up donation boxes for that less than a dollar vouchers.

That sounds like a good idea. I believe even Carnival donates money left by cruisers to St Jude if it's under some amount like $5, I'm not sure of the exact amount. Anything over that, they mail you a check.

Machine next to me had a stuck voucher for $0.30. Yes I tried to get it but SOL.

An MSC casino worker opened the machine cleared it, took the voucher and shut down the machine and walked away

Now how are you telling me that this employee pocketed the voucher and did not just destroy it since it expires in 14 days anyway

It's single person since I assume that as in a land casino this employee does not have access to the cash box of the machine which in a land casino needs two people to get to the cash

What proof are you saying this employee then cashed the voucher within the 14 days. Can't do it at the cage so your saying he walked to the machine that cashes the voucher which has at least two cameras pointed at it?

I have a bridge here in Brooklyn I can sell ya.

No, that's not at all what I'm saying. I never said any employee is cashing vouchers. Maybe the vouchers are destroyed, either way if it's not being cashed within the 14 days it's money that isn't being paid out.

  12. Hi! I think you create a casino account on Carnival when you insert your card into the machines and all your money goes into a bank. Then, every time you play you just insert your card and enter your pin number. I guess MSC is just behind the times using vouchers.

  13. Thanks for the reply. Maybe that's all it is, it just seems MSC could do it differently so people don't accidentally leave money behind; I don't recall it being an issue on Carnival. I just thought this was a different topic than the usual threads that are repeatedly discussed.

  14. Has anyone else noticed how MSC casino employees walk around and cash out money people leave on the slot machines? They usually straighten chairs or pick-up garbage; but, they're also checking the balance on the machines. I've seen them do it and print out the voucher; I doubt they're putting it on the person's account. It gave me the idea to check machines and usually the amount is under a dollar; but, sometimes it's quite a bit more. That must add up to a lot of money for MSC fleet wide every year.
