  1. I guess your saying the cruise is within 30 days so MSC will not refund anything? I don't think that's your fault of when you have to cancel. If you're not going on the cruise and you booked the drink package separately, they should refund it. Also, Carnival always refunds taxes and fees for cancelations; but, my father also canceled once and MSC wouldn't refund his taxes and fees either. If you're getting nothing back then I wouldn't cancel, that way they won't rebook the room and make even more money.
  2. Doesn't this all seem redundant, which is better and why? It's obviously depends on the person and what they like. Why keep asking this?
  3. Yes, I agree. There's documented reports of various issues on MSC, as is with other businesses too, to be fair; but, I haven't heard anything about this on the news.
  4. Also, I found the shows in the promenade area far better than the usual shows in the theater. The two I watched were interrupted though by a fight in one and a serious medical emergency in the other; I usually don't like the shows but those were fantastic.
  5. They walk into the US all the time. But, I don't know if I can believe it's happening on MSC.
  6. I'd save your money and not pay for the steakhouse, it's way overhyped and overpriced; but, that is just an opinion which others I'm sure feel differently. I've walked out of a few of them without finishing my meal due to horrible service and overcooked steaks; they're not 5 star restaurants. Chibang! was far better as is Cucina but not as good as Chibang! I had a captain's dish (they called it something like that) that was very good at Cucina.
  7. I remember Noonan and Butch, didn't like Dr E at all, he was annoying (I may be in the minority); but, no one really gave me a memorable moment, a cruise is about so much more than one person.
  8. Be careful complaining on here about MSC. I haven't been on the Seashore, but I liked the Seascape and Seaside which I imagine is very similar. Customer service isn't the best, nor drink service or drink variety, and yes bathrooms are small especially the shower; but, the ships are nice, I always find pretty good food to eat, and MSC is relatively cheaper; although the rates have been increasing which is why I've booked other lines such as Princess which includes gratuities. But, I'll be back on MSC once in a while to keep my diamond status; I like to vary my cruise lines.
  9. It seems my earlier post disappeared, not really sure why. Someone claimed the casino is operated by a third party, I don't know if that's true or not; but, I know MSC selects which slot machines are used and I don't know why they would use such an outdated method using vouchers that seem antiquated and costly with them needing to purchase voucher paper and needing to refill them; I guess I read between the lines.
  10. That sounds like a good idea. I believe even Carnival donates money left by cruisers to St Jude if it's under some amount like $5, I'm not sure of the exact amount. Anything over that, they mail you a check.
  11. No, that's not at all what I'm saying. I never said any employee is cashing vouchers. Maybe the vouchers are destroyed, either way if it's not being cashed within the 14 days it's money that isn't being paid out.
  12. Hi! I think you create a casino account on Carnival when you insert your card into the machines and all your money goes into a bank. Then, every time you play you just insert your card and enter your pin number. I guess MSC is just behind the times using vouchers.
  13. Thanks for the reply. Maybe that's all it is, it just seems MSC could do it differently so people don't accidentally leave money behind; I don't recall it being an issue on Carnival. I just thought this was a different topic than the usual threads that are repeatedly discussed.
  14. Has anyone else noticed how MSC casino employees walk around and cash out money people leave on the slot machines? They usually straighten chairs or pick-up garbage; but, they're also checking the balance on the machines. I've seen them do it and print out the voucher; I doubt they're putting it on the person's account. It gave me the idea to check machines and usually the amount is under a dollar; but, sometimes it's quite a bit more. That must add up to a lot of money for MSC fleet wide every year.
  15. I prefer to go on 8 cruises a year and book cheaper cabins than book yacht club once a year or once every few years. Hey, if you can afford yacht club 8 times a year, great!
  16. I re-priced before final payment and my room wasn't cancelled, same room, lower price. Just goes to show the different answers you get here.
  17. It seems I need to repost, the Meraviglia was leaving Bermuda on Friday not arriving Friday, so these weather reports issued on the day they were to leave have no relevance. So, again, your saying cruise ships should change ports because of small craft advisories?
  18. I guess that was a wild theory because it was completely wrong. The other ships had no itinerary changes and one went to the exact same port (Nassau) as the Seashore was supposed to and they were all going to the Bahamas.
  19. From my experience a hold on MSC does nothing. Every time I put a hold on a cruise and then went back to it, the booking process just started all over from the beginning. One time the price went up on the cruise after I put a hold on it and so did my rate; but, I don't use a TA so maybe that's different. I have found that if you book and the price goes down, MSC will honor it unless it's after final payment.
  20. Well, I have 46 Carnival cruises and 8 MSC under my belt (also NCL, Princess, Disney, and RCL). I agree MSC has much nicer ships and are better than Carnival's, at least the MSC's I've been on; although the Mardi Grad was pretty nice. But, Royal Caribbean also left Port Canaveral and from what I could see every other line was sailing as normal, including Disney, Celebrity, NCL, etc. As far as feeling rough seas, I think it depends on the ship and how rough the water is. I think most people should expect some rough seas during hurricane season. As far as sub par staff, who knows, everyone has a different opinion. There are news articles on MSC involved accidents as well as many other cruise lines, including Carnival, etc. I sailed on the Carnival Liberty and got caught in Superstorm Sandy because the bridge staff's math must have been off. They were trying to get us back to Florida and avoid the storm; but, instead we ended up in it. When dishes are crashing, sea water is coming over the lido deck, and the ship is vertical; the captain probably should've turned back, but he kept going. I don't especially like Carnival either, I simply don't understand how every other cruise line still sailed except MSC. I guess it's just what they do, I know MSC certainly doesn't care what other cruise lines do.
  21. I would call Princess too, even if it was an incorrect price they should still honor it. How many people could've booked the excursion that far out? But, I've never been to Iceland so maybe people do.
  22. That sounds completely different, these ships were scheduled to leave at the same time from the same port and all were going to the Bahamas, not that the details matter to you.
  23. It looks like Carnival made it to Nassau in one piece, exactly where the Seashore was supposed to be.
  24. You're about to have company, three ships are on their way in; everyone sailing as normal except MSC.
  25. How can two other ships leave but not MSC? MSC seems to have no problem changing port stops. The current sailing on the Meraviglia cancelled Bermuda because of weather, yet 4 other ships still went there. Instead, it went to Port Canaveral and Nassau right into the storm.
