  1. It's okay--I've wondered what became of this all-purpose Seattle thread. It was kind of useful!

In answer to your questions...yes, Safeway does deliver here, but they require a $49 minimum purchase. If you need that much stuff, you can order at https://shop.safeway.com/ecom/home?brandid=1

You could also try Amazon Fresh https://fresh.amazon.com/ . They deliver a variety of food items in Seattle. They don't have a minimum order but they charge a bit for delivering.

Wow! Thank you. So, they will deliver to any Seattle hotel? I'm going to look into the three hotels you mentioned.

We'll be cruising for 2 weeks, so I'm sure I will have more than $49 in order (unless the cost of food is far less than we spend here).

    Thank you so much!

  2. A propos of ice cream, I wait until the really good flavors show up. I can easily pass on vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. But when cinnamon shows up, I'm there!

As for jimmies v. sprinkles or soda v. pop, try this on for size:

Hawaii :D, Santa Rosa, and Fremont (all as close to Hawaii as you can get LOL).

Sprinkles, roundabout, and Soda here ;) I'm gluten free, so I don't eat Subs :p

  3. You may want to look into the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise bluescruise.com if you want to see the real deal for blues music. The cruise leaves this Sunday on the Nieuw Amsterdam, it has been sold out for close to a year though. The pre-booking for January 2015 is closed, but check the website. There are a few cabins left on the October 2014 leaving fron Los Angeles.

    All blues music all week!

That sounds really fun! I'll have to put a cruise like that on my radar for sometime in the future!

  4. You'll be having an enjoyable time. However, I don't think a three year old would enjoy cruising.

I suppose it depends on the child. We took our oldest on her first cruise at 15 months (she's 6 now) and she had a BLAST! She made fast friends with our CC buddies, danced in the disco, played with the huge chess set (is that still on the Noordam?), watched for dolphins, ate ice cream and pizza, slept in, watched movies, guessed the towel animal, and really enjoyed having her mommy and daddy all to herself for 14 days. :)

We took a tour of one of the ships while she was in port here and both my 3 and 4 year old girls have been talking about the ship since. My 4 year old was amazed that there are real "Chefs" on board. It was too cute.

Edit to add: We also asked some of the crew if there were any other young ones on board, and one of the officers had their 2 year old on board as well so we had a few playdates :D

  5. How are my three personal shopping assistants doing? ;)

Their father let them stay up way past their bed time last night (while I got in a 10 mile run), so this morning was "interesting." The littlest two are now napping and lady H is about to have her violin lesson. :) Every time they meet someone new they talk about "Uncle John" and the big ship we are taking to Alaska. ROFL Their excitement is infectious.

Waiting with baited breath to see where you'll be in August ;)

  6. Only place it shows up is on the second page of our Guest Booking Confirmation from HAL (hard copy)...under "Important Notification" it states that our booking includes the Explore 4 offer, detailing the Beverage Package and Specialty PG Dinner.:)

That's it...not noted online or on our TA's invoices...so will definitely be taking a copy onboard with us!

I have it on my booking documents from the place we booked. Probably won't find a better deal than we got, so I'm expecting to keep Explore 4 ;) I can't wait to hear how the Signature Beverage Package given to bookings other than Caribbean and Mexico work out.

  7. We have HUGE block parties in Honolulu that take up a good square mile every Friday, Sat, and Sun the two weeks before and the week of New Year. All the major radio stations have stages with live bands all over the place. There are Lion dancing teams that bless all our major shopping centers (after doing their pole dances) and my girls love to "feed" the lions. There are four different parades in Honolulu, the major one has all the lion clubs and community organizations in it. The state has to sell permits for the fire crackers because people buy so many. LOL Kids of course get the red envelopes. It's good fun.

  8. [quote name='david.duffy.794']Yes, we not only like the movement of the air, but the noise as well. My wife was born in Hawaii so who knows.
