We are thinking of taking an AMA cruise this summer on the Rhine (Basel to Amsterdam). My wife has MS and cannot balance on a bike by herself. We've ridden tandems many times and it works. We can probably do 25 miles on a relatively flat route, so I would think we would be fine on most casual bike tours IF we can get a tandem bicycle. I can't find any information on the AMA website or anywhere for that matter. Anyone have any advice for us?
This would be our first river cruise, so we are unfamiliar with the excursions, but would there be options if she couldn't take the hike (she can only walk about 1 mile) or bike excursions offered? Does AMA give any credit she would use for a massage or something instead of an excursion? We want to enjoy all they have to offer, but we don't want to get stuck paying for two people to go on excursions at each port and find she is not able to do them.
