Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I’m on the Majestic now. No Covid related changes so it seems like very few cases on board. Laundries are open. Passengers are being very diligent about mask wearing, which appears to be working.
  2. Evening. Could anyone currently onboard a Princess Cruise from Australia let me know the prices of the following drinks - speciality coffees - fountain soda - smoothies - fruit juices - mocktails We have just received the ability to book Soda package for our cruise in 4 days and the price has gone up considerably. Am trying to figure out how many drinks per day it equates to. Thank you! Lynette
  3. Morning. We have previously cruised in the South Pacific and had smooth sailing. I’ve heard that the seas between Sydney and NZ can be quite rough. We depart on Tuesday and I would love to hear others experiences and the best way to deal with it. Should we take sick sickness meds in advance? My mother (67) is already nauseous from Tamoxifen so I am particularly worried about her as she has never cruised before. Thanks in advance! Lynette
  4. Morning. We are travelling on Majestic Princess to NZ on 3rd Jan. My mother eats Kefir (a fermented yogurt type drink) everyday to keep regular. As I imagine this would not be available on board, would she be permitted to bring her own with her and store in the cabin fridge?
  5. Thanks everyone. Princess have confirmed that due to immigration law, no passengers may disembark in NZ or South Pacific on an Australian rounds trip cruise. I think this might be enough reason for hubby to get out of his conference and be able to stay for the full cruise. Thanks again for all the quick responses!
  6. Hi Everyone We are cruising to NZ out of Sydney in Jan, 7 people, 3 generations. My husband has just found out that has to attend a work conference taking place at the same time as the last days of our cruise. We placed a request for him to disembark at our last port Dunedin, and this request has been denied. The email says "Reason for denial is noted in the passenger booking. Common reasons include: Governmental restrictions Operational reasons Requested port does not support disembarkation Request will violate the Passenger Service Act Other than cancelling our cruise, does anyone have any suggestions. What will happen if he just gets off the ship in Dunedin and does not return? Has anyone experienced this with a NZ cruise before? Thanks in advance Lynette
  7. Is anyone currently on board or has recently been on the Majestic Princess in an mini suite, and can tell me if the following is available in the cabin: shampoo and conditioner a clothes line a kettle any other toiletries? Thanks in advance Warm regards Lynette
  8. We are a family of 7 and have booked a hire car at the port, and Hobbiton tickets directly through their website. Saved us $600 when compared with an organised tour!
  9. Hi everyone When we cruised pre-covid with Royal Caribbean we were not permitted to bring hair straighteners on board. However I cannot find straighteners listed on the prohibited items section for Princess. Can anyone tell me if they are permitted? I don't want to have my expensive straightener confiscated at the dock! Thanks! Lynette
  10. Hi everyone We are booked on a Princess Cruise of NZ, leaving Sydney 3rd Jan. I have two questions about drinks on our cruise, if anyone can help? We are 3 generations, 2 kids, mum, dad and 3 grandparents, split between two mini suites. When we booked we received two plus beverage packages per room, so have the drinks package for 4 out of the 5 adults. My mother does not have the drinks package. My first question is this: If we buy bottles of wine at dinner (at a 25% discount due to the drinks package) will my mum be able to have a glass, or will she have to order her wine separately as she does not have the package? Second question: I would like to buy a softdrink/coffees etc package for mum and the kids but in our cruise personalizer there are only packages for alcoholic drinks. Do I need to call Princess for the softdrinks package or will these appear in our personalizer at some point? Can anyone else see these non alcoholic drinks package in their personalizers? Thanks everyone. We are counting the days!
  11. Ah ok so they can charge the drink/coffee etc to a person without having their medallion?
  12. Hi everyone This will be our first time cruising with Princess. We have the drinks package. If my husband goes to the bar to get us each a drink, will he need to have both his and my medallions? If so I imagine a lanyard would be easier than a watch type strap in this scenario?
