  1. HELP! We are so confused. While NCL no longer requires vaccinations, several of our stops are in Greece. We are told that Greece considers you vaccinated if you got your booster within 270 days, If not, you have to be tested within 72 hrs. My husband had his 4th shot in January, which is more than 270 days. My daughter got her only booster last Oct. she was told, under 50, they would not give an additional booster. So the question is, do they check passengers as they get off the ship in Greece? Do they offer testing on the ship? We will be in Italy for about a week before our cruise so can’t get them tested before we go. I’d hate to try to find a place to get tests while touring Italy. So, should we risk it? Are they being that strict?

  3. We have a teeny little drone smaller than a cell phone. Since my joy is photography but my mobility is limited, I was hoping to use the drone to take pictures from the walls and vistas I cannot climb. I see drones are in the “do not bring” list. We have no intention of pulling it out in board. But do you think they will notice it in our luggage when we board? Or in our back packs when we return from a port? It looks like a little portable charger except for little wings that fold in. If they do prohibit it, will they return it at the end of the cruise? It would be worth risking it if we will get it back. Or, could we tell them we have it and leave it with the bursar till the end? We are traveling beyond the cruise and can use it then. Would love hell making this choice.
  4. You are welcome to join us anytime. For dinner, going ashore, whatever. We are very social. We are 4- me, husband, 2 young adult kids. We are kind of fuddie duddies at night. But our kids are hoping to enjoy the night life a little more. This will be their first trip to Europe. Before I met my husband, I used to travel solo. It makes for a lot of flexibility, but can get a little lonely. You will find most cruisers super friendly. Sue
  5. We are flying into Milan to visit northern Italy for a few days. We are flying home from Venice. We are planning another two days after the cruise there. the cruise offers a “tour excursion” transfer to Venice. But it takes you straight to the airport and isn’t cheap. The train from Trieste to Venice is much less expensive, ( about 2 hours) not to mention for us Americans an adventure of its own. Because we are doing trains a few times, we are limiting our luggage to one carry on and one backpack each. This would be difficult to to with huge heavy bags. You also have to allow for possible strikes and other delays common in Italy. We are arriving the night prior to the cruise. there is an airport in Trieste but I think it is small and expensive to fly into. hope that helps.
  6. I need advice. We are taking our cruise in October and arrive in Santorini at 1:30. There are 4 of us and none of the shore excusions offered really do what I want to do. So I was going to book a private tour through Viator. But the private tours meet in Fira which means we have to get up somehow. I am worried that if we are not on a excursion through the ship it will take forever to get a tender and then we will have to wait in the cable car line. How much of our short stay will that eat up? We may be able to take a ferry to Oia. But we still have the issue of getting off the ship after all the tour groups. We could book an excusion through the ship to get us to Oia, then get private transpostation to the other spots. Would that work? The sights I'd like to see are Oia, Akrotiri, Emporia and I heard about a fish spa thing we could do. We are in port till 10:00 but for me it's all about great photos so after I don't care. I am also curious, can I get good photos from the ship? Can we get sunset photos from the ship?
