  1. Oh, one more question before I open my mouth without thinking again: when we board the ship can I ask at the info desk or wherever about it? Or if it’s a hard NO will they flag my account somehow and not let me get two drinks at once or something?
  2. Haha I should’ve clarified. I mentioned it to the first rep, who didn’t know. The access desk would know, but they were closed. So I filled out the generic disability/access form and submitted the OB letter. Once they cleared her to board access desk must’ve taken it off based on whatever note the first rep wrote- so there was some miscommunication there. (Probably on my end) I didn’t want it actually removed, but was curious if we could down the line (why wait on hold for 30 minutes any more than necessary?) I didn’t mention it anywhere else, and thought it wouldn’t go further if I didn’t actively inquire again. So I sent the required paperwork she needed to board the ship and nothing else… and forgot about it. Oops. Oh, I read it again.. when I called I mentioned she was pregnant so they noted that in her file and I HAD to send the documents or she would be denied boarding. Honestly, that was my first mistake.. She’s not showing, and won’t be near 24 weeks. thanks for your other answers though. Getting her a drink when I get mine should be fine if it comes to it.
  3. Hey guys. I think I screwed up today… My GF and I booked a cruise under the free at sea promotion and we recently found out she was pregnant. While talking to the rep about what documents we need from her OB, I remembered seeing somewhere that sometimes lines don’t require everyone to have the same beverage package if there’s a legitimate reason. So, knowing the package was included, but we prepaid the service charge, I asked if the rep knew if they’ve ever refunded those fees. I mentioned it to my GF and she said just leave it alone, we already paid and she didn’t want to have to worry about anything on board. I submitted the paperwork and didn’t think any more of it. Today I got an email back saying she was good to travel, her package was downgraded to the soda package, and they had refunded the difference of the prepaid gratuities. Ive searched everywhere trying to figure out what a “mock tail” would be classified as under their packages. The only mention of juice I see is “free to everyone with meals” and the only reference to mixed drinks I can find are all alcoholic. Now I’m freaking out that if she wants a non-alcoholic mixed drink from a bar it won’t be covered under the soda package, and each drink will be charged. The difference was only $15/day or something- I should’ve just kept my mouth shut. I called and spoke to someone with the access desk and he said he’d never been asked about mocktails and couldn’t give me an answer. So I turn to you all… anyone know how non-alcoholic mixed drinks are billed/charged? How bad did I screw up? TIA
  4. Thanks for the image- it’s the first time I’ve seen that. Do you remember what time you were scheduled to arrive in port that morning?
  5. Thank you guys for all the advice. We ended up deciding on the later flight. We’d rather take our time getting off the ship and spend a relaxing day in Fort Lauderdale instead of stressing about the flight. Part of our group did book the 11:40 flight though, I’ll report back and let y’all know how it went. Thanks again!
  6. Thanks for the input so far. I looked a bit into other ships port times and there’s two other huge ships due to be in port at the same time we are, oasis of the seas (6am- 6800ppl) and seascape (7am- 5900), and 4000 on our ship (7am). In total there’s 26,000 passengers arriving between 6a and 8a. Even ignoring oasis of the seas, would getting a ride out of the port be an issue with seascape there as well? Will oasis snarl up customs/traffic before we even start disembarking?
  7. Hey guys. We’ll be on the encore 12/4-12/11, arriving at MIA at 7am. NCL says disembarkation doesn’t begin for 2 more hours. Is this accurate? And will we really dock at 7? I thought most shops come to port over night? I realistically have two flight options, an 11:40a out of Miami and a 8:50p out of FLL. The flight from FLL gets us home to late to be able to work the next day, but we’re afraid 1140a in Miami is too close. We also don’t want to lug bags around with us all day, or try to kill 8 hours just waking around. I guess it all comes down to how quickly we can get off the ship. Figuring 2 hours at MIA and a 20 taxi min ride, we’d need to be in the taxi by 9:20 - is that even possible? Is getting to MIA 2 hours early too soon? Too late? Can anyone who’s recently disembarked from Encore shes any light on the time frames? Will they really not let anyone off before 9? Sorry for the questions.. first time cruiser and I don’t like not knowing what to expect haha. TIA
  8. Ha! I have no idea why I didn’t just Google it. I’d been looking on all the different excursion sites but never actually looked at trip advisor. Thanks for giving me that *way to go dummy* moment! I think I’m good. I somehow didn’t think to just Google the company- I was searching for them within other excursion sites. Trip advisors reviews look great, so hopefully it works out well. Thanks for the reply!
  9. A group of 12 of us are looking to rent a charter in Tortola to go snorkeling and I found these guys online. They seem like a legit company, but wanted to check on here to see if anyone had used them before before sending a deposit/card info. Anyone heard of them? Thanks!
