  1. Shows currently are at 8 and 10. I don't know about Cantare.
  2. Length restricted to 270m. Only one large ship at a time. New policy per bonaire govt. Therefore tenders were not allowed as would violate one ship limit. Suggest whoever have future cruises, like others on this thread, consider this possibility going forward.
  3. Thanks all for the informative insights! We just finished a great day touring. Wait. Captain is now speaking. Mtf.
  4. We're still digesting this. And, for lots of the nice people we've met, this port stop is why they took the cruise. Attached is the letter received this evening. For a cruise scheduled for quite some time, we find this a bit surprising. But not unexpected given our personal challenges with this cruise and cruise line... needing to eventually change rooms.
  5. Fysa. Just learned that bonaire on Jan 9 has been canceled. Instead Puerto Rico on the 8th. Apparently the Rotterdam is too big for bonaire. Huh?
  6. Multiple reasons. Internet searching can glean lots of background around its origins. To me, I've been raised to keep bananas off of ships/boats due to bad luck. Especially with fishing.... Here's one quote: "Why are Bananas Bad Luck on a boat, is an unusual nautical superstition that began in the 1700’s that is still persistent today. When trade ships sailing from the Caribbean & Spain started to disappear, legend has it that only the curved yellow fruits would be found floating amongst the wreckages. Seafarers believed the bananas had caused the ship to sink. Which leads to many rumors back at dock and throughout the seas."
  7. Then, there is the historical superstition of bad luck with bananas on board vessels....
  8. Thank you! Between every other day ashore, was trying to figure out if it was worth upgrading the drink package. especially, as we might be at a music venue, past midnight, if they are still open. 🙂 (non-alcoholic drinks as well of course)
  9. When does a day end? Midnight for the timezone the ship is in? Or, sometime in the morning? Curious about the 15 drinks a day limit.
