  1. Hi Crickette,

Had you stayed in 7116? Can you elaborate on flooding? From where did the water come from?

Was  there any less privacy than any other cabins that have balconies on both sides?

    Thanks

  2. Has any one stayed in suite 7116,  a deluxe penthouse,

on the aft of ship? What was your experience and was there noise from the aft pool that was annoying?

    Would you book it again?

    Thanks

  3. Saw a video  on utube that gave a tour of ship on an at sea day on Explora Journey. It showed the pools that looked somewhat crowded, and most if not all of the lounge chairs looked occupied. What has been your experience with being able to secure a lounge chair on a nice day. Does Explora Journey have an issue with chair hogs or are there enough lounge chairs to accommodate those that want them?

  4. I’ve posted about this before but now that more people have sailed on Explora I’ll ask again.

If you stayed in cabin 7116 (deluxe penthouse on aft of ship) what was your impressions?

Particularly interested in the veranda. What furniture was on the veranda and did you experience an abundance of noise from aft pool and bar? Any pictures?

  5. When recently speaking to an Explora rep on the phone he told me that twins can be separated or together as a king. He said that king was more comfortable than 2 twins pushed together. As you suggested, I’m not sure that twins are available in non connecting rooms.

  6. Explora needs to get its act together.

I saw this morning that a cruise I have booked for next October has had a port change. I received no notice from Explora. Only found out when I was rechecking to see if there was a pricing change which there wasn’t. In comparison when Oceania changed a few ports on a booked cruise, I received an email from them with an apology and some additional ship board credits.

  7. We recently checked our flight schedule made with Regent Custom Air, via the website, to find out that one of our connecting flights was not listed. It was the weekend so we called the airline directly and they told us that our connecting fight in Europe to our final destination had been cancelled and no replacement had been reserved. They also told us they had contacted Regent almost 2 weeks prior to inform them. Neither we our our TA were ever notified by Regent, Regent Custom Air or the airline about the cancellation.

We called Regent first thing Monday and they directed us to Custom Air. On speaking to Custom Air we asked why we were never notified. Their inexcusable answer was “ they are under staffed”. We fortunately were able to book alternative flights with no deviation charge but it wouldn’t have been our first choice. So I recommend you constantly check your flight schedule, or you like ourselves, could end up not having one of you connecting flights when you arrive at that airport and maybe miss your cruise.

. We have since contacted Guest Relations at Regent who told us they will forward our concerns to management. We have yet to hear back from them. The whole incident is unacceptable and hopefully Regent will look into this so it doesn’t continue to happen.

  8. We are embarking on the Splendor in Copenhagen on September 12. Sailing time is listed at 6PM. Our boarding time is 11:30am which we plan to take part in. After getting settled on the ship and possible lunch we are considering getting off the ship to see some sights in Copenhagen. Do we have enough time and if so what would be the latest time that we would need to reboard the ship to feel comfortable not being left behind?

Any suggestions as to,if doable, what we might plan to do in Copenhagen and available transportation from the ship and back.

Greetings from Vista on its current voyage, Barcelona to Southampton!  I read Maxamize's fantastic review last evening with trepidation, as this was our first day on board the Vista. I thought I would share my first impressions to allay some fears out there.

I think we can all agree that the ship is absolutely beautiful, and it appears to be designed with the future in mind. I too have to wonder what they were thinking regarding the closet design, but wonder if they were trying to incorporate the full length mirror and/or door to the next Suite to make connecting rooms. Unfortunately, my TA nor I noticed that 10031 is a connecting room, so we do not have the full length mirror. Oh well… Probably better off that way, 🤨. This is definitely waste of space, though. Also, I think they could have made the bathroom shower, slightly smaller as it crowds the first sink coming in. Just a minor detail…

More importantly, we have our first day at sea today, and I was pleasantly surprised by the civility at the pool! There were many chairs and even big loungers still available at noon, and the vibe was peaceful and fun.
I was approached several times by the crew, offering iced water, and everyone has smiles on their faces. We were even startled yesterday to be greeted by a crew member in Aquamar who recognized us from the Riviera a year or two ago!

we also had dinner and Toscana last evening. I did feel like the portions were smaller, which is fine with me. We had some pastas, and then the Dover sole, which was yummy as usual. Wait, staff were slightly rushed, but I'm sure that was the same in the main dining room. Further evaluation needed for all dining areas. I will say the bakery and expanded Baristas is fantastic! Beautiful little quiches and baked goods available all day. Vincenzo is holding down the barista bar!

We did request a few little things from our Butler like ice in the room and sparkling water, and they were delivered within five minutes!

I am also keeping a close eye on the new Crystal reviews, but for now, Vista is maintaining, and perhaps exceeding Oceania's bar.

I'll keep you posted with further updates, if anything changes!

We have booked cabin 10031 for a future cruise on Vista. I had seen a video of a Penthouse suite that had the connecting door where the full length mirror normally is. I would think Oceania would find another place to hang a full length mirror. Have you questioned any one whether Oceania plans to correct this problem?Looking forward to your reply.
