  1. Hi Crickette, Had you stayed in 7116? Can you elaborate on flooding? From where did the water come from? Was there any less privacy than any other cabins that have balconies on both sides? Thanks
  2. Has any one stayed in suite 7116, a deluxe penthouse, on the aft of ship? What was your experience and was there noise from the aft pool that was annoying? Would you book it again? Thanks
  3. Saw a video on utube that gave a tour of ship on an at sea day on Explora Journey. It showed the pools that looked somewhat crowded, and most if not all of the lounge chairs looked occupied. What has been your experience with being able to secure a lounge chair on a nice day. Does Explora Journey have an issue with chair hogs or are there enough lounge chairs to accommodate those that want them?
  4. I’ve posted about this before but now that more people have sailed on Explora I’ll ask again. If you stayed in cabin 7116 (deluxe penthouse on aft of ship) what was your impressions? Particularly interested in the veranda. What furniture was on the veranda and did you experience an abundance of noise from aft pool and bar? Any pictures?
  5. When recently speaking to an Explora rep on the phone he told me that twins can be separated or together as a king. He said that king was more comfortable than 2 twins pushed together. As you suggested, I’m not sure that twins are available in non connecting rooms.
  6. Explora needs to get its act together. I saw this morning that a cruise I have booked for next October has had a port change. I received no notice from Explora. Only found out when I was rechecking to see if there was a pricing change which there wasn’t. In comparison when Oceania changed a few ports on a booked cruise, I received an email from them with an apology and some additional ship board credits.
  7. Sorry. I mistaking listed Ocean Residences category, when as you state it’s Ocean Terrace Suites.
  8. From what I see most of the discounts only apply to Ocean Residences and only select rooms in that catagory. You’ll find out what is discounted when you go to the “book” page.
  9. Has anyone stayed in cabin 7116. A deluxe penthouse on the aft of the ship? I’d love to here your feedback.
  10. We are soon sailing on the Splendor. A family member is taking a new medication and they are advised to take their blood pressure daily. Is this available on the ship and how difficult is it to have it done?
  11. We recently checked our flight schedule made with Regent Custom Air, via the website, to find out that one of our connecting flights was not listed. It was the weekend so we called the airline directly and they told us that our connecting fight in Europe to our final destination had been cancelled and no replacement had been reserved. They also told us they had contacted Regent almost 2 weeks prior to inform them. Neither we our our TA were ever notified by Regent, Regent Custom Air or the airline about the cancellation. We called Regent first thing Monday and they directed us to Custom Air. On speaking to Custom Air we asked why we were never notified. Their inexcusable answer was “ they are under staffed”. We fortunately were able to book alternative flights with no deviation charge but it wouldn’t have been our first choice. So I recommend you constantly check your flight schedule, or you like ourselves, could end up not having one of you connecting flights when you arrive at that airport and maybe miss your cruise. . We have since contacted Guest Relations at Regent who told us they will forward our concerns to management. We have yet to hear back from them. The whole incident is unacceptable and hopefully Regent will look into this so it doesn’t continue to happen.
  12. We are embarking on the Splendor in Copenhagen on September 12. Sailing time is listed at 6PM. Our boarding time is 11:30am which we plan to take part in. After getting settled on the ship and possible lunch we are considering getting off the ship to see some sights in Copenhagen. Do we have enough time and if so what would be the latest time that we would need to reboard the ship to feel comfortable not being left behind? Any suggestions as to,if doable, what we might plan to do in Copenhagen and available transportation from the ship and back.
  13. What laundry service is included in cabins concierge and above? Is there also dry cleaning available and is that included in our cabin?
  14. I think most ships have cruise photographers. What has been your experience using them and is it worthwhile?
  15. What type and how many plug adapters are recommend to convert to American plugs on the Splendor cabins?
  16. Thanks for responding. If you get any further information as to why Oceania can’t figure this out let me know. Enjoy your cruise. Even if you don’t have a mirror to check I’m sure “you look marvelous”.
  17. We have booked cabin 10031 for a future cruise on Vista. I had seen a video of a Penthouse suite that had the connecting door where the full length mirror normally is. I would think Oceania would find another place to hang a full length mirror. Have you questioned any one whether Oceania plans to correct this problem?Looking forward to your reply.
  18. Thank you for your review. Looking forward to our dinner there. How will I access your blog with your full review? Len
  19. Will be embarking on Splendor on September 12, Copenhagen to London. Pre-cruise one night in Copenhagen, September 11. Had already booked reservations at Host after seeing it on an Andrew Zinman show on places to eat in Copenhagen. Looking forward to our dinner there and would love to hear your review and any menu recommendations.
  20. If you already have booked a cabin your TA should be able to make the switch with you keeping the same cabin. We were able to keep our cabin which I had booked previously under Olife. I lost the SBC from the 20th anniversary sale but still came out ahead with SM and summer sale.
  21. Yes, my business fare will be $5298 each person. That is less than if you price out a new booking under current promotion. Business upgrade would now be $1500 + (2 x $2299). = $6098. My TA said mine is less because I was rebooking a cruise made under the old Olife rate and they use that booking date to determine what the airfare was at that time and apply it to my new booking. I think that’s how it came to be.It’s complicated but I’m happy.
  22. Let me clarify my price in my last post. The SM price is $1500 per person more with air. The additional cost for business is $1899 per person each way. So that comes to an additional $3798 per person.
  23. It is the price over and above what SM price is that includes economy air. So I pay $1500 per person more for SM with air than without. Then they add on business air that is costing me the additional $1899 per person.
  24. I’m not sure. You could with Olife. You can book a dummy fare on line without air on simply more sailings and see.
