  1. I reckon your 2 bob is worth about 5 lol. A great summation of the features and pain points on board
  2. We did a Greyline Bus tour which was really interesting. Gave us a good overview of the town and the history which really suited us first time visitors. We did get dropped off at the Botanical gardens for an hour which was a bit long for me. But some of our party loved that. We then did the ferry ride and tour of MONA. MONA is a lot!!! Especially with 2 cruise ships in. Quite overwhelming. Also the weather wasn’t very nice so we couldn’t explore outside. I would have loved to have done a bit more exploring of the Salamanca district as that looked interesting. But we definitely felt we got a taster Great photo from the Opera Bar btw
  3. I know what Chandon is. But thanks for the explanation. However my point js that I like champagne. It was showing on the beverage menus but it wasn’t available.
  4. Their menus definitely offer champagne. They just said there were supply issues
  5. The Edge is a lovely ship and we certainly enjoyed our Retreat experience. Tasmania is a destination I wasn’t particularly interested in but we found it fascinating and would have loved to have spent two days there as on the original itinerary. But I think this size ship it too big for us. And we certainly would have struggled if we didn’t have the Retreat area. Bars and meeting places were often packed and noisy. Not our jam. And I had to be “that” person but the coffee was truly awful and don’t advertise you offer champagne on your menus when all you have is Chandon. It isn’t champagne!!! Staff were lovely though and we really appreciate how hard they worked to make our trip comfortable
  6. Well the sun came out for the last few hours. So we got to enjoy some pool time yesterday afternoon which was lovely. Disembarking this morning was very easy. And it was pretty magical waking up to these views
  7. A very quiet day yesterday but still fun. Although my liver will definitely need a break. I can say no to everything except temptation 😝 Went and played Deal No Deal which was fun. Quite amazing though as the first player got chosen the second time as well and also won a casino credit with her cards. We went to Le Petite Chef for dinner. It was a lot of fun and definitely worth spending some of our OB credit on.
  8. Husband enjoyed the ship tour. Found it very interesting and informative. The laundry is as you can imagine quite an operation
  9. Someone wanted Cafe al Bacio prices. Here you go. My husband is currently on the Behind the Scenes tour. Looking forward to hearing what he thought of it.
  10. I wonder if they raised the price so they could take off the gratuity charge.
  11. It was also our wedding anniversary yesterday. 10 whole years. So we got a nice treat at Luminae. Of course we needed a dessert wine to go with it
  12. Hobart. Yesterday was our Hobart day. The weather was very average got down to 18 degrees with drizzle. But certainly a lovely historic town to visit. I wasn’t expecting much and was pleasantly suprised. We did a Greyline tour which gave us a great overview of Hobart and then in the afternoon we went to MONA. MONA is a lot!!! Particularly as the weather wasn’t great so you couldn’t explore outside. You need a charger up phone that can access the app so you can find your way around and get information about the art. We had neither. So it was all very overwhelming. Glad we did it but we probably didn’t get the full experience. As you can see by the time we left the weather was pretty 💩 so that killed the buzz a bit as well. But I approve of any place that has lots of dog statues. And I definitely wish we had 2 proper days here as was on the original sailing schedule
  13. I wonder if they raised the price so they could take off the gratuity charge.
  14. Sorry to hear that. I hope you come right soon. Not a nice momento of your holiday
  15. I think it’s about $5-$6 but I will check. The coffee is not great. You definitely need a double shot
  16. You need to pay extra for a Retreat cabin. That includes the Premium drink’s package and a wifi package. We feel we have received great value because we got a good price and a $800 OB credit
  17. Another chilled day on the Edge. We spent a lot of time in the Retreat area. We had breakfast at Blu but I was a bit underwhelmed. We were all seated very close together and the food was just ok. As it was pretty much a sea day we had room service for lunch and I have to say my burger was spectacular. It got very hot and windy as the day went on. But the weather is meant to be wet and quite cool for our day in Hobart today. A funny thing happened my husband took me to the Eden Bar at around 5pm for a drink. When we discovered it was home for a singles mix and mingle. I accused him of wanting to trade me in 😝
  18. Well to be honest we haven’t done any of the Theatre shows and I doubt that we will. I can say the band that performs in the Martini Bar is very good
  19. The “retreat hosts” are still doing double duty. But the rooms are being cleaned twice daily
  20. Kia Ora today was a bit of a sea day. Only got to Hobart at 5pm. But hadn’t noticed any guest lecturers. Monday and Tuesday are definitely sea days so will look out then
  21. It was quite cloudy until about 1pm and then the sun came out. It was very warm but windy. Fortunately we found a nice spot to hang out on the Retreat pool deck. And yes we did make the most of it.
