Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Having loved our one week Caribbean cruise we're quite attracted to this but have questions: Will the entertainment programme be different throughout or will week 2 be a repeat of week one? Thanks
  2. I had a call from TUI advising it's 20th July
  3. Just back from my first cruise. I didn't wear my long trousers once. Denim would be ok in the buffet restaurant but best to wear the better ones in the others. They wont allow men in for evening dinner in sandals or flip flops. Another tip which may or may not help is that there are no umbrellas by the sun loungers so its all or nothing when it comes to the shade and as someone who burns in a cave (!) I had to be really cute about it. Plugs has already been covered and US dollars and/or Euros have equal importance, sterling not mentioned once so not sure if its readily accepted or at what rates?. Poor exchange rates on the ship so we took US Dollars from Tesco who were offering best rates when we checked.
  4. Just back from cruise which started and ended at Montego Bay. Yes straight onto coach which was given a Police escort (which made for a lively and interesting trip!). A long but constantly moving queue under shelter for 15 minutes tops but TUI staff were on hand readily handing out drinks of water
  5. Back when I booked my (first) cruise the agent said that an unexpected bonus was that having dumped your luggage at Gatwick the next time you see it is in your cabin- so Im going with that. I am flying with TUI as well though. Im expecting to queue as that seems to be the likely thing to do- Im hoping they bring drinks around or one of us can beak of to grab one?
  6. Thanks Molly- Ive gone for 10am. We're doing the walking tour, lunch then old American car trip
  7. Hello again- I am in the process of finalising a day tour with Havana Journeys and they've asked for a collection time. The schedule suggests the ship docks at 0800.We tend to get up 0730-0800 so I've suggested 1000. Is that realistic or should I make it later? Thanks in advance
  8. Evening, We've got the premium drinks package, the two extra restaurants and excursions booked. I've read that the Cuba visas cost £15 per person so aside from maybe the casino and gift shop is there any more expected expenditure? What about arranging local currency to spend? Is there a travel exchange on the ship ( with decent rates), or is it better locally or even just do it on the card? What time do the shows start in the evening and what time do the evenings tend to wrap up? Sorry for the bombardment but I do like to be prepared. Many thanks
