Found out last night that we can't sail for Budapest because of low water. Going as far as Komaron and if we want to see Budapest we will have to take a bus.
We are in Vienna for today and tomorrow, Budapest is Friday then Saturday fly home. Other than the boat swap it has been a wonderful experience and can't believe it went so fast. Thank you notamermaid for your updates and all of the information.
We are on the Viking ship Bragi heading for Bamburg. We were just informed that we will have to do a ship swap as the water levels in Passau are very low. So it goes. Also very warm here today with temperature approaching 80. Did not see that coming.
Thanks again for the information. Love the local history of the area. Five years ago we stayed a week in Baden Baden where my grandfather was from. Is there any connection between the Oos River and the Oosbach?
Really looking forward to being on our cruise in 30 days, not that we're counting.
My wife and I missed a large part of the middle Rhine in 2013 due to the river being flooded. We are hoping to see all of it when we return for a 15 day cruise in October.
I will be traveling with my wife in October from Amsterdam to Budapest. Hopefully water levels will be high enough. I am glad that I found this site so we can keep track of the conditions.
