  1. A limited number of passes (on a first come, first served basis) for access to the Persian Garden and Relaxation Room are offered to guests (excluding AquaClass) onboard at the following rates:

    1 Day - $25.00

    3 Days - $50.00

    6 Days - $75.00

Are those required to be contiguous days?

  2. True, but the Metro does not have a stop near the pier :). One can certainly take the 20-30 min walk from the pier to the nearest Metro Station and save some money, or take an hour and walk all the way to Sagrada Familia (we did this once). On the other hand, some folks would prefer to spend their money to save lots of time and their energy :).

    Hank

Or, take the provided shuttles from the pier to the Columbus Monument, then a short walk to the metro stop, maybe 5 minutes, very easy. :D There is a fee for the shuttles (3 euro round trip), so the balance between cost and time depends on the number in your party and your plans for the remainder of the day.

  3. For domestic or short haul international flights where an airline runs multiple daily flights to a given destination this might work, but I'm not aware of any airlines flying multiple Fort Lauderdale - UK flights.

True, but using miles means the possibilities open to the airline alliance. Flights leaving to the UK that late from Miami appear to be Oneworld. Thus, between American, BA, Iberia, and US Air, many possibilities can be explored.

  4. My thought would be in an entirely different direction. :)

Is this the result of an airline schedule change? If so, I have found that most airlines will work with you if you contact them and tell them the change in times will not work for you. I have done this many times with miles tickets, even if the desired flights had no miles seats. "Schedule change" is a magic word that can get things done if you politely ask if an alternative can be arranged.

This, of course, presupposes that better flights exist, and you have not already gone down this road.

  5. Im sorry. My sister and I are going on a Cruise. It leaves and returns to the same port FT Lauderdale. Im taking my daughter with me. My name is the only name on Birth Certificate. She was born In the US.. Do I need a passport. Is it simpler just to have one for her?

Since both parents are not traveling, please look into documentation you may need to take your daughter out of the country. You may well need documented permission from her father.

My recommendation is based on the time of your flight and your request for easy and safe. Book a tour/transfer with Rome Cabs. They will pick you up at Civitavecchia ay 8:00 am, provide a full day tour of all the must sees, and then drop you at your hotel.

As for the hotel, since you have a 10:50flight and should get to the airport 2 hours before, I recommend the Hilton Hotel at the airport. It's the only hotel directly connected to the airport so you don't have to rely on shuttle service. I realize if you stay there, you don't get to see Rome at night, but this option eliminates a lot of stress and rushing in the morning to get from Rome's City Center to the Airport for your morning flight.

I heartily second this suggestion. It is the most efficient. You really don't have much time at all. Part of your day will be taken up just getting off the ship. Maximize your time by using RomeCabs or another vendor to be picked up right at Civitavecchia and do a private day tour with your luggage in the car. I also agree with staying at an airport hotel given your early departure time. If you do decide to stay in the historical district to wander around on your only evening, then you need to plan for additional expense and time for a cab or train transportation back to the airport.

If you were staying two nights post-cruise, it would be much more relaxed.

  7. Hi Everyone,

There has been an issue over the past few days. Celebrity is aware of the issue, and is working to resolve. Please see the sticky at the top of this forum : http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2055078

I will try to obtain an update. Thanks for your patience.

    Host Andy;

The link from the Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle page:

Cruise Critic - Celebrity Meet & Mingle Info

Seems to work, but I have not gone through a registration to test it (I am already registered). The links at the top of the roll call forums does not work, however.

  8. Things have improved for me. I can login, and see "My Reservation". If I follow "Manage Reservation" and choose "View Reservation", I get site maintenance again. However, if I choose "Manage Reservation" and "Explore Cruise Planner" instead, I can then choose "My Reservation" at the top of the page, then "Cruise Summary" and it actually works. I can access "Order History" too.

Bottom line is that I can get to what I need, but have to take a circuitous route.

  9. Did you try this method I posted above? It works for me but when I try to log in any other way I get the maintenance pages as well. Works in Chrome and Firefox.

I called Captains Club earlier and they walked me through a way to see the reservation and extras.

Don't log in from the main screen or if you are already logged in then log out. From the celebrity home page click the link at the top "Already Booked" drop down menu, then click "Shore Excursions".

Then in the upper right hand corner there should be a "Log In" button, click that link which will bring up a log in menu on the left and an option on the right for "Not Registered" where you will need reservation #, last name, ship name and sail date. Use this to log in and then you should be able to see cruise extras from the "order history" or manage your reservation from "Cruise Summary" both in the top right corner.

    Good luck!

Yes, I did. I did manage to see my drink package under order history. However when I tried Cruise Summary, it was back to site maintenance again.

  10. I can log in. I get the My Celebrity page, which looks no different to me than it did before...except, of course, if I try to view my reservation. Then I get the "site maintenance" pages. It has been this way for days. And yes, this is with the latest version of Chrome. Tried Firefox too.

Seriously, can the web team fix anything without causing more issues?

  11. I've looked through the postings and the "fine print" and haven't been able to determine...

If using a resident rate, can the 123 benefits be combined? Or this an either/or situation?

    tia

No, the 123 promotion excludes resident rates, senior, military, and various others. It's is an either/or situation.

  12. I have this reputable tour company to whom we're hiring in October for 285 Euros for a tour and they want a 50 Euros deposit thru paypal. I asked their cancellation policy and they told me and I quote . I'm not sure but doesn't that seem unreasonable? If we cancel within 60 days before the tour, we cannot get our deposit back? What do you think?

I've asked what if it's our flight or ship's fault and or if it's their fault that we have to cancel, can we still get our deposit back? I haven't heard back from them. Ed

I agree that is a very restrictive cancellation policy. I would make sure it is not a mistake. If not, I would look elsewhere.

  13. Options & suggestions re late arrival 1400-2200 Oct 8,2014 on Celebrity Reflection. There are 8 in our party. Would appreciate any help.

One option you might consider is to charter a boat for a couple of hours to sail to Oia. You might consider the service we are using, Captain Stathis with the boat Anemos.

    Anemos charters with Captain Stathis

His minimum charter is 2 hours, and the rental is 100 Euro per hour. You might consider asking for some others from your roll call to join you, the boat holds up to 12. Since you have the two hours, he can do a sightseeing tour of the Caldera and drop you in Oia at the end. He can also assist with setting up a minibus to take you up the cliff from Amoudi Bay to Oia. I am not familiar with how long the public buses run on the way back, so you will need to check that. If you did get a group of 12, the cost would be less than 17 euro each, plus the cost of the minibus ride and the public bus back to Fira.

We are also on Reflection, but we arrive in the morning. We formed a group from the roll call to charter for 5 hours, riding with Captain Stathis both ways. We will do 3 hours in Oia and 2 hours of sightseeing, with pickup and return to the old port. This eliminates the need for the cable car, thus we won't need to worry about the lines. It cost a bit more than the boat/bus option, but not by much, and will hopefully relieve some stress on getting back on time. To clarify, we don't sail until September, we have not used this service yet.

Good luck with your decisions. :)
