  1. Yes, I booked them thru Carnival. I wanted to do the big canal tour in Panama but it's already full, so booked the 'Grand tour (Eco, Indian, & Locks)' tour. In Aruba we're doing the Kukoo Kunuko Bus with beach break and in Curaçao doing the Family combo: caves, snorkeling, sights, and beach. We were disappointed there were only two options for Cartagena, Columbia. We chose the Sea rumba & old city tour, but not really enthused for it. Do you think they might add more options? Only two options seems odd.
  2. Hmm, good to know. I might get lucky then and not have to get a full coverage policy. My cardiologist pretty much leaves my meds alone, but my endocrinologist changes my insulins every time I see her. Lol.
  3. Not really. I understood what you said about since I have preexisting conditions, that I would probably have to get coverage for the full price of the cruise, whether I wanted it or not. I'm just not concerned about getting the cost of the cruise reimbursed. If I have to pay for a full coverage insurance though in order to get medical coverage, so be it. Thanks for your response. Since it's Saturday evening, I will probably call Monday.
  4. I need to get on the ball and find some insurance then. We paid for the trip (in full), when we booked it April 7, 2023. I'm not worried about the cost of the trip. We could eat that cost. I'm just concerned about any medical emergencies that might occur.
  5. Going on a Panama cruise in January '24. How do we find out which ports are Tendered? I looked on the Carnival web site, but couldn't find it. We have excursions in 1. Ocho Rios, Jamaica, 2. Aruba, 3. Caracao, 4. Cartagena, Columbia, 5. Colon, Panama Canal, 6.Lima, Costa Rica, and 7. Cozumel, Mexico. Anyone have trouble stepping across to the smaller boat?
  6. Do you have a phone number for him? Thanks for the info. I'm mainly concerned about having preexisting conditions
  7. We can afford to lose the cost of the cruise, but would like to have medical insurance. I am a diabetic and have a defibrillator/pacemaker, so have preexisting conditions. My husband is in good health, other than high blood pressure. I am afraid of having to go to a hospital or having to be evacuated back to the States. Where can we get good travel medical insurance and how much would it cost for an about $8000.00 cruise (port is close enough to drive to).
  8. Newbie cruisers with a few questions. Sailing Carnival, out of Galveston, January '24 on a 14 day Panama cruise. Seven shore days. Plan to snorkel, zipline, climb waterfalls, explore Mayan ruins, have a beach day, and do some sightseeing both on land and by boat. 1. Booked a balcony Cove room. Good choice? 2. Will be driving to the port from east Texas (about a 4 1/2 hour drive). Would you just drive it that morning or would it be better to go down the day before and spend the night in a hotel and go to the port the next morning? 3. How do you pack for a 14 day cruise? Would like to pack light, but want to have everything we need. With the activities we are doing, what would you pack? 4. How many bags for tours? I was thinking a very small backpack for exploring and sightseeing, then a beach tote to use as a carryon for embarkation, to use around the pool, and for snorkeling/beach days (using just the small backpack all other days)? 5. I'm a diabetic. My blood sugar drops at the most inconvenient times, no matter what I do to prepare. I plan to carry some prepackaged snacks. Would it be a problem to quietly eat them during a tour? I would hate to have my snack in front of some hungry kid. lol How to handle the situation? 6. Anyone familiar with the Galveston port? My son will be off both the day we embark and the day we come home and has said he would drop us off and pick us up. Where would he need to park long enough to do so?
